A Nigerian Water Priestess popularly referred to as “Mami Water” shared a video on her social media space warning a Christian lady who told her to go ‘give her life to Jesus’.
In response to the Christian woman who admonished her in the comment section, the water priestess told the lady to keep her life with Jesus, while declaring that her own life belongs to the “God of creation” and her own river.
The lady also stated that not even Jesus or the Bible can change that. She also asked the Christian lady to wait for the end time, while adding that her own life is safe in water.
The elder sister of Rofiat, the young girl who was killed for ritual purposes by her boyfriend and his friends in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, has spoken.
Rofiat was gruesomely murdered by her boyfriend and three of his friends. Her boyfriend identified as Soliu had lured her to an apartment where she was beheaded on Friday evening, January 28.
The suspects where nabbed while they were burning her head in a pot. Upon interrogation they confessed to the crime and led the policemen to the building where the dismembered body was recovered and deposited at general hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Rofiat’s sister, Okeowo, in an interview with The PUNCH recounted the last moments she spent with her sister before the unfortunate incident.
According to her, before Rofiat left the house on Friday evening she was asked to make beans for the family to eat for dinner. Okeowo said after he sister put the beans on the fire, she took permission from her to go out, to which she agreed. She said she had no idea where she was going.
She said when she saw the viral video showing the suspects that beheaded the lady, she recognized one of them. This prompted her to take a photo of the deceased to Adatan Police Station where the Divisional Police Officer told them that she had been murdered.
Speaking further, Okeowo said that their mother, who is suffering from hypertension, has not been informed of the situation because they are afraid something might happen to her if they break the news to her.
“When it was around 8:30pm, I called her number and asked if she was coming home tonight. She said she was already on her way and almost home. So, I went to bed. Around 10:00pm, I called her, only to discover that her number was no longer reachable.
I asked her mother if she had seen her daughter, she said no. The following morning, I asked her mother again and she gave the same response.
It was later in the day that I heard that a lady was killed and beheaded in the community. I was suspicious at that moment since I had not seen Rofiat… If we tell our mother now and she dies, that will leave us with two dead bodies,” she said.
The bereaved sister also pleaded with the government to ensure that her sister’s death is avenged, and the suspects beheaded just as they did to her sister.
Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Bella Shmurda, has reacted after Lagos State University (LASU) urged him to return to school and complete his education.
It can be recalled that the singer while celebrating his birthday last week noted that he was stubborn, didn’t take his education seriously and eventually dropped out of LASU to focus on his music career.
Bella who bragged that he now worth half a billion streams said that if he had taken his education seriously, he might have still been in school with nothing in his pocket.
Reacting to his tweet, LASU celebrated his achievements and urged him to return to the classroom to complete his degree programme.

Twin brothers identified as Chukwuemeka and Chukwuebuka Okpe, have been arrested for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government area of Anambra state.
It was gathered that the victim’s mother Mrs. Benedict Sunday, who is also a nurse reported the incident to Davina Care Foundation.
The Executive Director of the foundation, Mrs. Rachel Yohanna made this known in a chat with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday January 30. According to Yohanna, the alleged crime was then reported at Abagana Police Station on January 16, and the suspects and their mother, Mrs. Chinwe Okpe, were arrested.
She stated that the suspects, Chukwuemeka and Chukwuebuka Okpe were children of the caretaker of the house where the victim lived and had been continually harassed for her refusal to be defiled a second time.
“She (the victim) was taken to Ntasi Centre for Sexual Assault cases at Enugu-Ukwu General Hospital, where it was confirmed that she was defiled which caused perennial tears (the area between the vagina and the anus).
She was later accompanied by a police officer and an aunt to the suspects to the police clinic for a second test when the mother of the suspects claimed the medical result from Ntasi centre was forged, but the result still came out positive.
The victim’s mother said her daughter complained of pains in her private part and stomach sometime in November 2021, without telling her the caretaker’s sons defiled her. As a nurse, she bought drugs and used a hot towel to massage her daughter’s vagina area.
On January 16, she said she got back from work and met a vigilante group with her daughter waiting. The group said they brought back her daughter after she ran to them for safety.
She explained the twin boys tried to defile her daughter a second time and because she refused, they beat her. When the girl reported to their mother (caretaker), she slapped her and threatened to deal with her if she did not keep quiet. The girl ran to the vigilante group for safety. And her mother reported the matter to the police station in Abagana afterwards.” Yohanna said.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident, saying the Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, had assured justice would be served after investigations.

A video of some teenage boys in search of a house to learn internet fraud has gone viral on social media.
The boys whose ages are between 14 and 16 were queried by a man whose gate they knocked at in an Edo community. They defiantly explained to the man that they “want to hustle”, and they clarified to mean yahoo-yahoo (online fraud) and not yahoo plus (online fraud+rituals).
They said their home was dysfunctional and that fueled their ambition to leave their home in Delta State to come by themselves to Edo State.
The video of a group of little boys said to be around the ages of 14 to 15 and were “stranded” but looking for a place to learn yahoo-yahoo (online fraud) has sparked reactions online.
As can be seen in the video, the young men were being queried by a man whose gate they knocked at in an area in Edo state.

Manchester United football club has suspended footballer, Mason Greenwood and he has been arrested by police after his model girlfriend shared bloodied photos alleging he assaulted her.
The 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault hours after being accused of domestic violence.
On Sunday, 30th January 2021, Mason Greenwood trended on social media globally due to the graphic photos and an audio recording that seemingly had him trying to forcefully have sex with her.
The allegations were released on Instagram on Sunday morning and included video, photographs, and a voice note claimed to be a conversation between Greenwood and the woman.
They have since been deleted.
Police confirmed the 20-year-old striker remains in custody over the allegations which came to light in a series of graphic Instagram posts.

Nigerian actress and entrepreneur, Eriata Ese, has advised single people to remain lonely until they are sure their mind and spirit is ready.
Eriata gave this advice in a lengthy Instagram post while noting that loneliness can make people do things they might regret later.
She urged single people to not let loneliness be the reason for their decision to enter into a relationship, as it can cloud their thinking and not allow them to see people or situations for what they really are.

A 5-year-old girl, Alijah Thomas, was strangled to death by her mom, Martina Madarova, at their home in Ealing, West London.
It was gathered that Madarova, 41, was suffering from depression when she killed her daughter in September last year.
She reportedly put cartoon on TV for her daughter before she strangled her to death while she watched. During her confession, she disclosed that the minor begged for her life to be spared.
“Mummy, don’t kill me”, she quoted her as saying.
After killing her, she tucked Alijah in bed with a blanket and called the child’s dad to inform him that their daughter was dead.
Alijah’s dad David, who is still in shock over the tragic incident, said Madorova is a wonderful person and wouldn’t kill their daughter save for her mental disorder because she is the “most innocent person you could meet”.
He added: “I am shocked by what has happened, this is just not her, she would do anything for Alijah.
“She is not a bad person, she is the best mum.
“There is no hatred towards her, this is a case of mental health. I still have feelings towards her, I’m concerned about her health in prison.
“She was more than my partner, she is my best friend and my soulmate.”
Madorova has now been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility.

Three teenage boys have been nabbed by men of the Ogun state police command for allegedly killing their friend’s girlfriend for money ritual.
The suspects, Wariz Oladehinde, 17 years, Abdul Gafar Lukman, 19 years and Mustakeem Balogun, 20 years were all arrested on Saturday, January 29, following a piece of information received at the Adatan divisional headquarters from the head of the community security guard, that the suspects were seen burning something suspected to be human head in a local pot.
On receiving the information, the DPO Adatan division, SP Abiodun Salau, quickly led his detectives to the scene, where the three suspects were arrested. The boyfriend of the murdered girl, Soliu Majekodumi, 18, who took to his heels on seeing the police has also been apprehended.
Upon interrogation the suspects confessed to the crime. They admitted that what they were burning in the local pot is the head of the girlfriend of their accomplice.
They further confessed that the girl who was simply identified as Rofiat was lured by her boyfriend, Soliu to where she was murdered by four of them, after which they cut off her head and packed the remains in a sack, and dumped it in an old building.
They subsequently led policemen to the building, where the dismembered body was recovered and deposited at general hospital mortuary for autopsy. The short cutlass and a knife used in cutting off the deceased head were also recovered.
The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident to newsmen said the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.
He also noted that the suspects will be arraigned in court as soon as possible.
A Nigerian Twitter user has narrated how his friend’s baby was mistakenly switched with another baby at a general hospital.
According to him, the nurses had taken the baby for clean up when the mix up happened, as there was another family who also just had their baby.
Thankfully, the babies were different genders, so the error was detected on time and the babies were returned back to their original parents.

“My friends wife gave birth to a baby girl today in a general hospital, as usual the nurses took the babies to clean, afterwards, the matron started calling each family by surname to come and take their babies.

According to a Facebook user, Muhammad Kabir Orjiegbulam, the religious conversion took place at the Central Mosque in Ibagwa-Aka, Igbo-Eze South Local Government of the state on Friday, January 28.
Sharing photos of the new convert he wrote,
“Allahu Akbar. They accepted Islam today at Central Mosque Ibagwa-aka in Enugu State. Brother Chizoba is now Musa and Sister Chidera is now Adina. May Allah make them useful to Islam in Igbo Land. Amen.”.
In other news, a Nigerian lady has got people talking after converted a masquerader to Christianity and made him remove his costume.
In the video that was shared on Facebook by a lady identified as Jubilee Christopher, the female preacher was seen preaching the gospel of Christ to the masquerader.
The masquerader confessed his “sins” and immediately removed his masquerade costume.
Sharing the touching video, the Facebook user wrote, “Even the gods declares ‘Jesus is Lord’ This is the season of turning and preparing many unto righteousness!!”
“Mummy, don’t kill me”, she quoted her as saying.
