Dangote Announces That His Refinery Is All Set To Start Supplying Petroleum To Nigerians (WATCH)

Aliko Dangote, owner of the Dangote refineries just disclosed that after years of preparation, the refineries are all set to start supplying petroleum to various parts of the country.

Speaking at a press conference in Laos State on August 3rd, 2024, the owner of the Lagos-based refinery assured Nigerians that they are now going to have good petrol that will ensure the engines of vehicles last longer.

He states;

‘’You will not be having an engine issue, which a lot of us were having. It won’t happen at all. The quality here will match that of anywhere in the world; US, America, we will make sure that nobody will beat us in terms of quality,”

The refinery has already produced its first Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from its 650,000 barrels per day facility. During the conference, the businessman specified that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) would determine the pricing of petrol produced at his refinery.

“It is an arrangement which is designed and approved by the Federal Executive Council led by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. As soon as it is finalised, which he (Tinubu) is pushing, once we finish with NNPC, it can be today, it can be tomorrow, we are ready to roll into the market.”

He reassured Nigerians that once the company finalizes modalities with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), the product will hit the market. This comes after numerous regulatory battles that had previously delayed the production of petroleum products.

In his words;

“As soon as we finalise with the NNPCL, our product will start going into the market. We will help to restore industry and manufacturing. We will begin real import substitution, which is what we have, you know, saving foreign exchange, earning foreign exchange, which will stabilise the naira, and it will also help bring down inflation and cost of living,”

The former presidential candidate, Peter Obi has taken to social media to criticize the current government, citing the current fuel scarcity as a direct result of the ineptitude of the Tinubu-led administration.

He states in a recent post made on X (Twitter) that the NNPCL has not been transparent in its dealings, releasing conflicting reports on its revenue and debt profile, which has done nothing to alleviate the ever-increasing anxiety among Nigerians.

“Nigerians must stop at nothing in demanding for transparency in the operations of government especially critical agencies like state-owned NNPCL whose activities appear to be shrouded in secrecy. The conflicting reports on subsidy payments have left Nigerians in the dark,

Unsure of what is happening in this all important company. It is very curious that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) which declared a N3 trillion profit in 2023, is coming up with a bizarre claim of “financial constraints” in supplying fuel.

The fuel scarcity crisis, characterized by endless queues, and untold hardship, is a direct result of the government’s ineptitude. The $20 billion Dangote Refinery and other Modular Refineries’ struggle to secure crude oil supply and NNPCL’s search for outside operators for

its refineries are further proof of this administration’s gross incompetence. We demand a better level of transparency in NNPCL’s operations, financial dealings, and plans for the future. The Petroleum Industry Act mandates an open and transparent NNPCL,

we should not stand idly by while this government violates our laws. We demand that this administration come clean on these issues and take responsibility for the mess it has created.”

Mr. Auwal Dankode, the honest cleaner who found $10,000 on an aircraft and promptly returned it has finally been rewarded for his actions.

Bobrisky Calls Out Fans Who Get Carried Away When Admiring His Beauty

Controversial internet personality and Nigerian crossdresser, Bobrisky has called out fans who get carried away when staring at celebrities.

The media personality recently made a post to his Instagram story calling out fans who don’t know when to stop staring any time they spot him.

He claimed that fans frequently get carried away any time they see him in public, staring at him for longer than he deems necessary and sometimes making rude comments about his body.

He referred to this as classless behavior and admonished fans to be more mindful and respectful when looking at him or other celebrities out in public.

According to him, fans should stare quietly for a short while smile, and then simply turn away and go about their business.

A Nigerian lady expressed rage after an audacious taxi driver offered her N50k to take her to his house for personal ‘flexing’.

The female passenger who identifies as @xoxonans1 shared her ordeal with the taxi driver in the course of the journey after other passengers had alighted.

The driver’s voice could be heard in the background persuading the lady to accompany him home as he offered to pay her a whooping sum of ₦50,000 for her service.

According to the lady, she thought the driver was joking with his intention until he held her hostage, holding onto her bag.

She noted that the taxi driver stopped the vehicle halfway through the journey, to cajole her into flexing with him.

The lady reacted angrily to his proposal and instantly alighted from the vehicle.

Internet users speculated that the lady and the taxi driver had flirted with each other before the journey, giving the driver the audacity to request intimacy.

American Billionaire Bill Gates Set To Visit Nigeria Today To Discuss Malnutrition In The Country

American billionaire Bill Gates, the co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will be visiting Nigeria Today to discuss the various health challenges plaguing the country, especially malnutrition.

The philanthropist will be meeting with various leaders of Nigeria, youths, and partners to discuss and address health challenges and agriculture in the country and speak on how to improve nutrition in Africa.

He along with other foundation officials will meet with various specialists in nutrition, agriculture, and primary health care who have been striving to push progress throughout the continent despite economic and financial difficulties.

The foundation announced this information in a public statement given to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday ahead of their visit today.

The Foundation said;

“Gates, alongside other foundation leaders, will meet with experts in primary health care, agriculture, and nutrition who are driving progress across the continent, despite economic challenges,”

The foundation has dedicated more than $7 billion through 2026 to supporting African countries and institutions in developing and implementing innovative approaches to confront hunger, disease, gender inequality, and poverty.

It was also made known that the co-chair would be participating in a pan-African virtual dialogue addressing malnutrition through integrated health, agriculture, and financing solutions.

For this dialogue, it disclosed that Gates would be joined by musician, educator, and humanitarian Jon Batiste.

NAN recalls that every hour, 100 children under 5 years die of malnutrition in Nigeria, according to the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

That is, Nigeria loses about 2,400 children to malnutrition daily.

According to the Global Hunger Trend, there has been an increase in malnourished children compared to the previous year.
