One of the media aides to Bayelsa State Governor, Bodmas Kemepadei, has reacted to the recent bandit attack at the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna.
The suspected bandits invaded the barracks around 1am on Tuesday, August 24, killing two officers and abducting another senior officer.
However, it was gathered that the abducted officer, Major Christopher Datong, has been killed by the bandits after they demanded for N200million ransom to secure his release. According to reports, his body was found on Tuesday evening. The deceased major is said to be expecting a child with his wife.
Reacting to the gruesome murders, Kemepadei took to his Facebook page on Wednesday, August 25, to state that if the Defence Academy was situated in Ijawland, the military would have protested the attack by burning down communities in the state.
He wrote, “If NDA was in Ijawland, by now all our communities would have been burnt down. Up one Nigeria.”
In the last 72 hours, the biggest gist flying around on social media is that of one of the popular Psquare brothers, Paul Okoye. The gist has it that his wife, Anita has filed for a divorce 7 years after their marriage. It was in the early hours of Friday, August 20, 2021, that the news of Anita Okoye’s divorce from music star, Paul Okoye hit the internet. The mother of 3 said in the Petition that their relationship went cold and all attempts to savour what was left of it, was met with stiff resistance. She also said the music star ceased all forms of communication with her. Anita who tied the knot with Paul in 2014 asked an Abuja High Court to dissolve their 7-year-old marriage in the divorce document.
According to the document, there were 5 reasons why the centre could no longer hold between the duo. She noted they no longer share a conjugal relationship as husband and wife.
According to Anita in the petition, Paul denied her any form of companionship and love which are the integral components of all successful marriages. She stated that there was a lack of spousal support that the music star shirked his responsibility as a husband by refusing to support and cater to her and her family members.
Another reason was that they no longer have communication as a couple. She stated that the marriage has broken down irretrievably because of a lack of love and compatibility. Anita who was the music star’s university sweetheart said another reason she wants their marriage dissolved is over irreconcilable differences. The mother of 3 also said in the petition that their relationship went cold and all attempts to savour what was left of it, was met with stiff resistance. She also said the music star ceased all forms of communication with her.
Last November, no one suspected anything wrong when Paul Okoye celebrated Anita, as she clocked 32.
Despite all this goings-on, Counsel to Paul Okoye, Barrister Somadina Eugene Okorie of Senocean Law Practice, was reported to have said he is yet to receive a brief on the alleged divorce filed by Anita.”I don’t think this subject is worth breaking a sweat on since as I talk with you, I’m yet to receive a brief touching on the news already in circulation. If the story is real, I would have been briefed by now and this is devoid of sentiments,” he was quoted as saying.
The duo has been together for 17 years, dated for 10 years and later solemnised used their relationship 7 years ago. We gathered that not until there was a lot of pressure on Paul before he decided to walk Anita to the aisle. In fact, some pointed his settling down in marriage to Anita was because his twin, had settled down in marriage and also Anita was his baby mama.

Nigerian rapper, MI Abaga has appealed to Nigerians to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) after his experience at a police station recently.
The music executive, in a post he shared on his Instastories, bemoaned the dilapidated state of the police station and the working condition of its officers.

A South African man got punished for allegedly stealing money from his grandmother in the Soshanguve community in Pretoria, South Africa.
According to reports, members of the community nabbed him, beat him up and after that, tied him to the tree on Wednesday morning, August 25.
It was gathered as well that another alleged thief, pictured below, was caught stealing electrical cables by community members and also tied to the tree few days ago.
In other news, a Kenyan househelp, identified as Rebecca Isiche Elumbe, got arrested and charged for stealing her employer’s valuables.
It was gathered that Elumbe stole three sets of gold chains valued at Sh300,000, Sh90,000 in cash, and a mobile phone worth Sh40,000 at her employer, Maryann Abdi’s house in Royal Park Estate in Langata, Nairobi on August 2.
According to reports, she fled with the stolen items and went to spend the night at her boyfriend, Kennedy Kimanthi’s house. She reportedly gave him Sh1000 from the stolen cash and the mobile phone, then left for Eldoret.

Big Brother Naija housemate, Whitemoney has revealed that he is attracted to Maria’s personality and not her physical appearance.

According to the mother of two, it’s not right that her kids refer to her husband as dad when they have their fathers alive.
She stated this in reaction to a fans comment on her page suggesting that one day her son, Tenor would call his step dad, Segun Wealth, “Dad”.
She noted that she will never let him do that, as the idea is wrong and would be unfair on the little child.

The management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has released a statement regarding the suspension of a lecturer in the Department of Curriculum Studies, Dr. Samuel Abiye, over his involvement of a sex-for-grade scandal.
Vice Chancellor of the varsity, Prof. Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, revealed his suspension in a statement on Tuesday, August 24, via his Facebook page.
Ndimele stated that the lecturer was suspended for 3 months on half salary on allegation of sexual extortion for grade from one of his female students.
“He was recorded by a female student who he promised to help to pass his course and all other courses taught by other lecturers in their department, if and only if, she could help him through sexual gratification,” the VC stated.
“Dr. Abiye directed the female student to meet him at the King James Hotels towards Eagle Cement area of Rumuolumeni, where she was to be explored sexually in exchange for grades
“In the interim, the University has directed that all courses taught by Dr. Abiye for the 1st semester of 2020/2021 be regraded through conference marking to be supervised by the Dean of Education. All his courses and supervisees have been reassigned to other lecturers in his department
“The matter has been referred to the University Staff Disciplinary Committee for further investigation to determine his fate. We are determined to keep our little corners tidy.”

In a recent quite tragic report, a final-year first class student of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Blessing Kalu has lost her life after a truck hit her in Umudike Oboro in the Ikwuano area of Abia State.
The quite tragic incident is reported to have occurred on Monday, August 23rd, 2021, only about two days after Blessing’s final exam on Friday, August 20.
According to reports, Blessing, a first class Entrepreneurial Studies student was on a motorcycle and was on her way back home after filling her gas cylinder when the unfortunate incident occurred.
It’s also reported that the motorcycle rider carrying her tried to overtake a truck when she was hit by the truck’s backside. The rider was said to have escaped unhurt.

In recent reports, Saudi Arabian authorities on Sunday, August 22nd held a recruitment exercise for Nigerian doctors who desire to work in the Middle Eastern country.
The recruitment exercise is reported to have held in Abuja, where qualified Nigerian medical practitioners thronged the recruitment center searching for better job opportunities outside Nigeria.

The groomsmen decided to put a smile on the driver’s face while they were on their way to the wedding dinner. According to reports, they raised over N500,000 for the driver.

The military officer, Major Christopher Datong, who was abducted in the early hours of Tuesday, August 24, by armed bandits at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, has been found dead.
According to reports, his body was found on Tuesday evening, hours after news made rounds that the bandits are demanding for N200million ransom to set him free.
The major was abducted during an attack at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, which left two others dead.
The deceased major is said to be expecting a child with his wife.
