An heartbroken Nigerian woman has taken to social media to narrate how she lost her twin babies 24 hours after birth, due to Nigeria’s poor health care system.
According to the woman identified as @RebelleKush on twitter, she conceived her boys via IVF and had planned to have them in the UK, but her water broke on July 4th weeks before the due date.
Since her water broke earlier than expected she had to give birth to the babies in Nigeria and the battle to save them began. She recounted how she and her husband moved them to a hospital that was said to have the capacity to take care of them in the premature state but they died.
The bereaved mum who insisted that Nigeria killed her baby due to poor neonatal care in a lengthy Twitter rant wrote,
“It’s weird how we became parents on July 4th 2021 and then unbecame parents a day after. My twins boys Morayo and Moroti Kushimo have gone to be with the Lord. At 24 weeks, what was I expecting right? A miracle of sorts.
My water broke at week 21 but I pushed till week 24, so I could at least give them a fighting chance. I was hospitalized for 3 weeks on complete bed rest. Subjected to calling for help to eat, to poop, to bath. I had to wear compression socks for those weeks.
I was prodded every 72 hrs for blood tests, just to make sure I wasn’t getting an infection that could ruin my life whilst fighting for my babies lives. I fought so hard! The battle wasn’t just physical, it was mental, emotional, psychological and everyhow but I was willing
If it meant my babies would get a chance to live. See, these were expensive babies. They were IVF conceived and everything was planned to the T. I would birth them in the Uk but I visited Nigeria and things changed in seconds. Nigeria killed my babies…
Neonatal care isn’t advanced here, even when we did everything to save them by moving to a hospital that claimed to have the facilities. My Moroti lasted one day in the incubator.
My babies were beautiful, long limbs, active and just full of life. I won’t mourn you, I’m glad I got to be your mummy even if it was just for one day. Rest In Peace my little angels. Daddy and I love you
We did this all the way with God, asking him for his direction, his grace, his wisdom and every step of the way, we checked what next. This has built our faith beyond when we started this journey. We are fully aware of God’s presence and his grace.
This journey without God? and trust me I would have lost my mind. I would tell the details about my hospital stay in a few days but today’s memories are for my boys. My beautiful, beautiful boys. Moroti and Morayo Kushimo born on 4th July 2021″.

Sharing the video the actress noted that she was in love with the way the woman defended herself from her husband’s bully and in her caption encouraged women to learn martial art.
However, her advise was not well received by netizens who dragged her and accused her of promoting domestic violence.
In reaction to the backlash she received the actress during an Instagram live session addressed her critics, noting that the post was not to promote domestic violence but to show a narrative different from the one which portrayed women as weak and victims.
She insisted that women should learn some martial art skills in order to defend themselves from the evil perpetrated against them by the male folks such as rape, beating and molestations.
A man, identified as Bolaniran Orimolade alias Bola Bebo, has been arrested for intentionally infecting his wife, stepdaughter and twelve other women with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in Lagos.
According to the COO of Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Peoples Network, Ebenezer Omejalile, the suspect claims to be the chairman of Iyana Iba motor park and boasts that he is above the law.
It was gathered that he has two identical twins, both males, who were born with the virus because he failed to take the necessary prevention measures. He also sexually molested his step daughter and infected her with HIV.
Omejalile said;
“He does it with so much impunity without any form of remorse, he was arrested several times but buys his way out and goes after his victims and makes life a living hell for them.
“His latest atrocity was on his wife Mrs Bolaniran, who after infecting her with HIV, he domestically abused. He also sexually molested his stepdaughter who is now living with HIV.
“Efforts to get Bolaniran arrested by Igando Police Station proved abortive initially.
“It’s also on record that Mrs Bolaniran had two identical twins, both males who were born with HIV courtesy of their father’s status.
“Mrs. Bolaniran couldn’t bear the trauma of humiliation her husband subjected her and her children to, so she moved out to seek refuge in a church.
“Ever since she moved out of the apartment, Bolaniran has been going to the church to cause trouble.”
Bolarinan, who has once spent 10 years in prison, was reportedly transferred to the Gender Anti-human trafficking unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department (SCIID), Panti, following his arrest.
Meanwhile, the National Union of Road Transport Workers have debunked his claims of being a member of the union.
Lagos State Secretary of the union, Oluwaseyi Bankole said,
“The man is not a member of our union. As a matter of fact, our union does not operate at Iyana Iba Motor Park. The park in question is operated by another union. NURTW is made up of law-abiding citizens, hence our members will not engage in criminal activities.
“We have a database of our registered members, from units to state and the national headquarters of union, and these members are known to be above board in all their dealings.”
A Facebook user has shared an unusual story of 16-year-old twin sisters who are expecting a baby for the same boy in Cameroon.
According to the Facebook user, Ayisha Togina the teenage twin sisters were impregnated by the same boy about their age.
Togina revealed the pregnant teenagers and their father live in abject poverty and have resorted to sleeping with men to make ends meet.
Her post reads,
Meet this family of three. A struggling father providing for his almost due pregnant daughters in the suburbs of Buea.
Theirs is not a beautiful story but an example of the reality of life especially in crisis stricken English Cameroon.
This family lived at Tole where both sisters (16 years old) were impregnated by the same boy of their age in their local community just before the armed crisis forced them to move to Muea where they stayed with their dad’s friend who breaks stones for gravel.
They had to leave yet again this time because of sexual harassment from their dad’s friend. Still pregnant they relocated to a community far behind Sandpit (Likoko) where they stay in a rotting plank house with no doors or windows.
They sleep on a single mattress placed on the floor without a carpet and no blankets or extra bed sheets. Their house is surrounded by a bush, a breeding ground for mosquitoes and a habitat for other dangerous animals animals and insects
Their toilet, accessible by a bush path has no roof but a single hole made in the cement serving as the floor. The slimy, shaky cement has been covered by algae and and branches and leaves of the trees surrounding it. For privacy there are two mud stained bed-sheets hanging at the entrance to the 3 block walled toilet with many holes..
This family pays rents of 5,000 FCFA monthly to stay in that house, they don’t even feed regularly because their father can’t find odd jobs daily.
A truth exploited by the local men in the area leading these vulnerable pregnant girls to bed which they accept in-order to feed.
Wonder how we met them? We met this pregnant girls when they came to the Solidarity Hospital Buea. We got their address and hired a car to their community to witness their living conditions and provide some basic materials. With their permission we took this photos and videos to share their story to the world.
Their story is one of the realities of Poverty, Dispute and the lives of IDPs. It shows us the vulnerability of poor girls and the damaging effects of lack of education.
Thank you for reading, we now call on the community, health organizations, female empowerment bodies, the government and people of good will to step in and assist this family. The Solidarity Hospital is taking care of their antenatal follow up but there is always a place for every helping hand in their lives.

The lovely who is known for her consistent role of the ‘wife’ of popular Internet comedian, Mr. Macaroni played by Debo Adebayo, in a recent chat with Saturday Sun bemoans her sexual harassment encounters.
“I think every girl, beautiful or not, has faced sexual harassment before. These include the way people talk to you, what some guys send to you, and some physical touches. The movie industry is a hiding place for perverts. That’s the truth, because these days, every girl wants to be an actress. Some guys would seize that opportunity and take advantage of the desperate ones. It also happens the other way round, but maybe the guys don’t complain. A female producer or director will sexually harass them; they would not complain because maybe they like it.”

Self acclaimed relationship expert, Blessing Okoro has taken to social media to address women who do domestic chores for their boyfriends.
Blessing stated that choosing to cook, clean or wash for a man doesn’t make them wife material. She said instead of doing do all that, women should focus on developing themselves because marriage is for companionship, not slavery.
According to her, women should focus on empowering themselves so that their partners will not outgrow them. Adding that, women are the reason why men use and dump them because they are scared of developing themselves and being independent.
In her words;
”Dear women, cooking and house chores does not make you a wife, go and develop yourselves, house chores, cooking for him, washing for him, doing all those busy bodies does not make you a wife, you need to develop yourselves.”
“Marriage is not slavery, marriage is for companionship and when you are companioned with somebody, you need to learn how to communicate. It is you women that has made a lot of men turn you to slaves, because many of you women are sacred of self-development.”
A lot of men have dumped you today and you are wondering why in as much as you have been cleaning and washing for them, it’s because they have outgrown you, a man can now afford to pay for those things that you do for him.”
“What would you hold on to if a man decides to let you go? But if you develop yourself, you empower yourself and you become independent.”
