A Nigerian evangelist, Victor Edet has warned people against wearing wedding ring, as he says it is a sin.
Victor, who is well known for condemning worldly possessions, said in a recent post of his that wearing a wedding ring is a sin against God, as it wasn’t stated in the Bible that people should use wedding rings in their weddings.
According to the cleric, putting on wearing ring will lead people to eternal damnation in hell and he quoted verses from the Bible to back up his point.

A Nigerian Twitter user has taken to the platform to narrate how a cleaner in his office committed suicide days after asking him for financial assistance.
According to the Twitter user identified as Obong Daniel, the cleaner approached him at work on Tuesday, lamenting that he hasn’t eaten a proper meal in a week.
Daniel who revealed he helped him with a token was shocked to hear the news of his death at work today.
It was gathered that the said man committed suicide in his home last night, Thursday, June 18th.
Sharing the heartbroken story, Daniel wrote,
“On Tuesday, one of the cleaners in the office cornered me to say he hasn’t eaten good food in a week.
I had to squeeze in something into his hand even though this period is one of the most “wonderful” periods I’ve ever faced. Just learnt this guy committed suicide last night”.
Nigerian footballer, Jude Ighalo, shared a cryptic post shortly after he was threatened by his current Wife when she congratulated him for welcoming a baby with another woman.

Founder of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor Kumuyi has vowed to return tithes and offerings of any member who is still living in sin.
The clergy man made this statement during a Sunday service while he preached on holiness.
According to him, any man who’s living in sin and has refused to turn away from his sinful life but instead supporting the church with his money is only wasting it.
Kumuyi who emphasized on the importance of living a holy life noted that God does not need a “sinner’s money”, and it’s pointless for a sinner to pay tithes and offerings in church.

“If you are a sinner here, God does not need your money. All the money you are giving in this church does not get to God. You are just wasting your money.
As a matter of fact if I know the numbers of sinners here and how much they gave as tithes and offering I will remove it and give it back to them. God does not need it and the church does not need it”.
A 45-year-old man has been arrested for defiling his 15-year-old daughter and intentionally infecting her with HIV at Muthara village in Tigania East, Meru County of Kenya.
According to the minor, her father drags her to a nearby farm where he sexually abuses her and this has happened on several occasions.
On one of such occasions, she fled to a nearby homestead where she was found and taken to Muthara Police Station. After her release, she refused to follow her dad home and told the police about how her father rapes her at will.
She also revealed that she told her school teachers about it but they failed to act on the report.
The police took the man’s clinic card and discovered that he had enrolled to collect anti-retroviral drugs. Subsequent tests showed that both father and daughter are HIV positive.
In court, the man casually admitted to raping his daughter to ‘ease her sexual urge’. According to him, he committed the dastardly act because he did not want to die alone and leave the girl to suffer.
The presiding judge, Principal Magistrate of Tigania court, Paul Wechuli, sentenced him to life imprisonment and gave him 14 days to appeal.

The death toll from the Ikeja gas tanker explosion of Thursday night has climbed to five persons, including a child.

Following search by operatives of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), the bodies of 3 male adults were found inside one of the stores at the OPIC plaza.
It was gathered that a woman was at the Chinese Restaurant with her child when the explosion occurred. While she was being evacuated by fire fighters, she kept crying about her child which gave insight that someone was trapped inside.
The operatives did a further search and found the bodies of 2 more people, one of which was a child.
Speaking on the rescue operation, the Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu said,
“First responders worked to control the spread to the adjacent properties as well as the nearby petrol station until 0400hrs Friday.
Thirteen people with various degrees of burns were rescued comprising nine males and four females. They were provided with pre hospital care before taken to Lagos State health facilities for further treatment
The affected truck has been moved, the entire affected area cordoned off and post disaster assessment ongoing”
Gospel singer, Tope Alabi has finally apologized to her colleague, Adeyinka Alaseyori over her comment on her song, “Oniduro Mi”.
It can be recalled that Tope Alabi recently publicly criticized the popular Christian song ‘Oniduro Mi eseun o’ a song by Adeyinka. According to her, it was inappropriate to describe God as Oniduro which means guarantor, because he’s more than a guarantor.

A 42-year-old Nigerian man identified as, Emeka Adams has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 27-year-old teacher in Ghana.
Emeka who is an unlicensed driver reportedly knocked down the young lady identified as Alice with his car, carried her from the accident scene to a bush where she died.
It was learnt that the suspect picked his victim from the accident scene under the pretext of taking her to a hospital for medical treatment but instead abandoned her in a bush.
The body of the victim was later found in the bush at Abokobi, and the case reported to the police who arrested the suspect on Wednesday, June 17th.
The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mrs Effia Tenge, confirming the incident revealed police intelligence led to the arrest of the suspect.
According to her, Emeka allegedly committed the crime at the Adentan-Dodowa traffic intersection at about 7 p.m. on June 7, 2021 while he was driving a Hyundai Sonata Saloon vehicle with registration number GB 2126-20.
Police has now retrieved the body and conveyed it to the Police Hospital Morgue for autopsy and preservation.
