The Lagos State police command has apprehended a 50-year-old businesswoman with name, Rashidat Adeleke, for allegedly scalding the face of her salesgirl, Bukola Akinola with hot water in the Ikotun area of the state.
According to reports surrounding the incident, the suspect who owns a supermarket in the area, allegedly scalded the victim due to the destruction of some goods in her shop.
A statement by the Directorate of Citizens Rights reads,
“The Lagos State Government has announced the immediate prosecution of 50-year-old Mrs Rashidat Adeleke for allegedly assaulting her 29-year-old saleslady by pouring hot water on her face at the Ikotun area of the state.
The suspect employed the victim as a saleslady in 2019, but she ended up residing with her due to high transportation fare and other stress-related issues for the past 18 months before the ugly incident happened.
The victim narrated that her employer had the habit of abusing her at the slighted provocation. While narrating the ugly incident, the victim said two other sales representatives, aged 10 and 14, fought at the store, which resulted in the damage of some items.
When they got home that evening, Alhaja Adeleke asked the victim how the bangles on sale were damaged by the younger salegirls and she responded that she had no idea of what happened. Alhaja Adeleke then angrily dragged her into the kitchen, locked her inside and asked the younger sales representatives if there was hot water and they responded that it was not available.
Rashidat Adeleke reportedly boiled water and poured it on the head of the victim. The victim tried to escape, but was prevented from doing so by her boss. She reportedly boiled water the second time, poured it on her and the victim then collapsed. Despite being badly scalded, Alhaja Adeleke went ahead to flog the victim repeatedly.”

In a new report, a woman has been apprehended for allegedly stabbing her 15-year-old housemaid in Calabar, the capital of Cross River state.
Special Assistant to the Governor on Strategic Communication, Andrea Ekeng Inyang, shared the report on Saturday, June 12. According to the report, the woman had walked in on the teenage girl sitting on her husband’s lap watching TikTok videos.
He gave the report as thus,
“The news this evening; Somewhere in Mbukpa street Calabar South, madam walked in on her 15 year old house girl sitting on her husband’s lap watching TikTok videos. She got furious and stabbed the girl. As I type, she is behind the counter.” Inyang said.

Denrele Edun has revealed that he once dated a man and it was the worst decision he’s ever made in life.
He made the disclosure during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, where he spoke about his life journey and how he has fared in his relationships.

A Nigerian couple, Abdulmumin Suleiman and Hauwa Suleiman Bello, have tied the knot, seven years after they met on Facebook.
The Groom, Abdulmumin, took to his page to eveal how he met his new bride, Hauwa, and it was quite an interesting story.
According to Abdulmumin, he sent her a friend request but she did not immediately accept it. On February 22, 2014, he sent her message asking why she is yet to do so.

A bereaved aunty has taken to her Facebook page to mourn the death of her niece and in the same vein, call out the deceased’s pastor husband for being a deadbeat before her demise.
The lady, identified on Facebook as Chizoba Jude-duru, while sharing the moments that led to the death of her niece, revealed that her niece’s husband, one Dominion Emmanuel ignored doctor’s directive of his wife losing blood and took her to another hospital where she lost her life.
Chizoba, in her post on Facebook shared that they saw bruises on her niece’s lap and hand. She went on to allege that her husband claimed that she got the lap injury after falling into a gutter and the hand injury from an oil burn.

Too painful to behold your bruised body at the hospital where you breathed your last breath. I spoke with you 12:45am 10th June, 2020, you said ”Aunty aju na ebu m, i am feeling too much pains in my stomach”” i told you it is part of labour wahalla that very soon the baby will come and you will be relieved, that you should be pleading Blood of Jesus, i shall deliver like a Hebrew woman.
The nurse later called me around 1:30am that they need 3pints of blood for surgery, that you are bleeding internally, the placenta had cut inside, why? i asked but she is not yet in labour? her EDD is next month, she said we are losing herooo doctor directed so, we started calling your so called husband who we later got around 2am to run fast and sign for operation. He came in the morning to object doctor’s directive and took you to another hospital, Frank City Clinic Igando. You bleeded throughout the day till morning having only 20? blood count. Doctor demanded for 150,000 before touching you, that the baby is dead, we rejected the news, after everything you were taking into the theater, we were all praying for your success little did we know that you are going home from there. What an agony dearest niece. I couldn’t believe it. I was down that night but i felt your death after speaking with you, i started shivering, cold from no where overtook my body, i had never experienced such before. Immediately i started pleading Blood of Jesus.
It was when your body was brought out of the theater that we saw a bruised lap, hand etc. Chino asked your husband what happened to you and he said you fell into a gutter, what about her hand, hot oil split over her while frying egg. I don’t believe those explanations. How can a woman in her eight month pregnancy have such wound and didn’t rush to the hospital for treatment and check up. Frank city clinic Doctor (family doctor) said he saw you last in April, you looked pale, had not eaten, he bought you indomie, and encouraged you to be coming but you never did until yesterday. Maternity home nurse where your husband registered you, said you registered last month but came two days ago with bleeding complaint so she took you to specialist hospital because it has passed her jurisdiction. Specialist doctor admitted you after sending you for a scan, seeing your state and the dead unborn baby boy opted for an immediate surgery to save your life. If you had told me you were bleeding or had such bruises i would have given the doctor order to start the operation without your husband consent, i felt we should allow him take that decision i never knew he will transfer you to another hospital saying he has his own family doctor, so why didn’t he take you there first than taking you to a maternity home for such treatment.
Your love for him made you hid a lot from us. We saw the hand written on the wall before your marriage, at the traditional marriage and while you were living with him, we thought things will get better since he is showering you so much love on Facebook. His followers said he saw your death before now and told your dad who said nothing will happen to you, as a man of God will he just have a prophecy about his pregnant wife and keep mute, is he not a true man of God to rebuke death, i take that to be a story because your father said such didn’t happen.

Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field during his country’s opening Euro 2020 match against Finland in Copenhagen.
The Inter star went down during the opening half of the Group B match and required extensive medical attention on the pitch.
His Danish team-mates and supporters in the ground were visbly distressed during what appeared to be a serious medical situation.
Referee Anthony Taylor immediately blew his whistle and brought proceedings to a halt. Denmark and Finland immediately called for the medical staff, who raced onto the pitch to administer treatment.
His Danish team-mates formed a shield around him as the medics provided treatment, before white sheets were held up around him to provide privacy.
Nollywood actress, Uchenna Nnanna amid tears has pleaded with Nigerians to stop prophesying negativity into the country.
Nnanna who made this appeal during an Instagram live session where she bitterly lamented about the situation of things in Nigeria, advised that people should start saying only positive things about the country as there’s power in the tongue.
She averred that repeatedly prophesying negativity would only make the situation of the country worse than it is presently.

A Pro-Buhari protester has claimed that she was promised N1000 to join the solidarity walk for President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
The #IstandwithBuhari demonstration is allegedly intended to counter the nationwide #June12 protest which is ongoing in several cities across the country.
A news media outlet, Roots TV, interviewed some of the Pro-Buhari supporters in Abuja and shared the video online.
In the video, one of the demonstrators said she was promised N1000 to support Buhari but she’s yet to be paid.
The President, during an interview aired on NTA on Friday evening, described some Nigerians as ungrateful for failing to appreciate that his administration is doing so much with little resources.
His words,
“Nigerians, I think, are very forgetful. I am very pleased that the majority of Nigerians think that this administration, under the circumstances, are doing their best but people who misappropriated funds are elected members, either at state or federal level.
You can accuse them or try to prove that when they were elected members of the House of Reps and they are given ministries and so on, they had only one house and maybe a wife but now they have several houses may be in Abuja, maybe in Lagos, so, rarely, if you try to work out their legitimacy limit, viz-a-viz their expenditure, they will be exposed.”
Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde has joined the nationwide #June12Protest to demand for an end to bad governance and insecurity in Nigeria.
In a video circulating on social media, the governor is seen addressing the protesters in Ibadan against perpetrating any form of violence during the protest.
Meanwhile, the Governor recently announced a 25% reduction in the tuition fees of students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho.
The Governor made this announcement while speaking with the students at the school auditorium on Tuesday, June 1.
Makinde noted that the 25 percent reduction applies to every student, including indigenes and non-indigenes.
He said that although LAUTECH tuition fees is the lowest among state-owned universities in the country, “but I have approved your demand on the tuition fees reduction.”

A woman in Spain, Maria Paz Fuentes Fernandez, reportedly gave a list of guests she wants at her funeral before her death.
Fernandez who died on Wednesday June 2nd had organized for her obituary to be published alongside the guest list in a newspaper after her death.
According to the guest list, the woman gave out only 15 names to allowed to be present to pay their last respects, and banned all her family members from attending her funeral.
The obituary reads,
“Since my family has not been by blood for a long time, I declare in my last will and testament that only the people mentioned below can attend my funeral service, be it at the funeral parlour, church or cemetery.”
“To everyone else who never cared during my life, I want you to carry on living far away from me, just like you were before.”
The obituary was published in the El Progreso newspaper in Lugo, Galicia and has stirred reactions online.
Controversial clergyman, Pastor Odumeje has caused a stir online after a video of him conducting deliverance on a reverend sister went viral.

Former AIDS Ambassador and actress, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah has dared Ghanaian men to take her to court if they think she infected them with HIV.
This comes after she tested positive for HIV on Facebook live. According to her, she has been receiving threats from her multiple sexual partners who have vowed to have her prosecuted for infecting them with the deadly virus.
Joyce stated that such people should go ahead with their threats because there are enough legal provisions for HIV carriers.
She also promised to personally sue men who slept with her in their cars and offices, yet still claiming she intentionally infected them with HIV.
Joyce said,
“I have no explanation to offer anyone. I think the more I talk about the issue, the more people get excited to speak ill about me. I want to tell Ghanaians in Germany that I cannot be moved by your threats. There are laws that guides actions of HIV infected persons. So if you are a man who have had a sexual affair with me and think I have given you HIV, then go to the police and report me.
“Some of you may rush to the court. I have seen the worse of it. Some had taken me to court for having shared a photo on social media about the man responsible for my kids. I dare you to take this action this time on your claim that I have infected you.
“There are some of you who slept with me in your offices and cars. And you think I have infected you with HIV take me to court, lest I will personally take you to court or report you to the police for it because you don’t have the balls.”
