Popular singer, Shakira and her footballer partner, Gerard Pique have separated after being together for 11 years.
The couple started dating in 2010 and have two sons together, Milan and Sasha.
The Colombian singer’s communication agency released a statement to announce their split on Saturday, May 4.
The statement reads, “We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
The announcement comes shortly after Pique was allegedly caught pants down with another woman.
Amid the scandal, model Suzy Cortez popularly known as Miss BumBum, also alleged that the footballer asked her out.
She claimed Pique slid into her DMs and once asked for the measurements of one of her body parts.
She said,
“He was the one who sent me -message- more direct. The only Barcelona players who never sent me anything were Messi and Coutinho. They are great husbands and they respect their wives a lot. Shakira didn’t deserve this.”
Shortly after news of Pique’s infidelity broke out, he was kicked out of their family home by the singer, and they had been living separately for some weeks before they officially broke up.
