Popular Nigerian Jùjú musician, Sir Shina Peters has been ordained as bishop of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church.

The veteran singer was ordained a bishop on Saturday, January 30th at at a ceremony held at the Cherubim and Seraphim Church in the Iju area of Lagos state.

The 62 year old Afro-Juju star, took to his verified Instagram page to share videos from the ordination.

Sharing beautiful moments from the event, Sir Shina Peters wrote,

“Bishop with the swagger. God above all.”

Oluwashina Akanbi Peters better known as Sir shina Peters, was born in Ogun state where began his career in music at a young age, when he played with friends under the handle Olushina and His Twelve Fantastic Brothers.

The singer and his and his International Stars released their first album Ace (Afro-Juju Series 1) in 1989. Some of the lyrics in the album especially in ‘Ijo Shina’ were quite racy for the period.
