A Nigerian man has been left perplexed by the response of one of his female friends after he sent her a monetary gift in celebration of her birthday.
Sharing multiple screenshots of their chat on the microblogging platform X, he revealed that her response led him to block her.
According to the message screenshot he shared online, the lady had asked him if the 20k he sent to her was just for cakes.
She also teased him for telling her to spoil herself with the money before reluctantly thanking him for his gesture.
The young man, who appeared shocked by her response, brought the issue to Twitter (X), where he received backlash from tweeps.
The majority of them blamed him for gifting her the money in the first place and not asking for his money back after her attitude.
