Adebayo Faleti

The Yoruba actor, Chief Adebayo Faleti was confirmed died in the early morning of Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the age of 86. The actor who was also a Broadcaster before his death seems to have been aware of his death hence, preempting it with some word of prayers with his children.

Adeniyi, one of his sons revealed what the aged man said shortly before he gave up the ghost at Hospital

In his narration, he pointed out that Faleti expressed the need for someone to continue his missions on earth because he needed to rest then having done from his end.

“After the morning devotion, I helped him to the bathroom as I normally did. He said he wanted God to send someone else to come and complete his work because he had done all he could do. He also said that he wanted to go home. Suddenly, I noticed that he was not breathing again. We took him to the University College Hospital, Ibadan where he was confirmed dead. We shall miss him greatly,” the son said.

The first son of the former General Manager of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, Ayoola, also revealed that the deceased had earlier called him three days ago before he embarked on a visit to his place yesterday where he couldn’t reach his destination he got the news of his father’s death.

“In his usual practice, he called me three days ago and we discussed like father and son. After I received a call this morning from my brother concerning the state of his health, I hit the road to come home and see him but I did not meet him alive. He died before I could reach home. He took care of all his children and gave us good education. We shall all miss him,” said Ayoola.

Late Chief Faleti was one of the pioneer staff of the first television station in Africa, Western Nigeria Television (WNTV). He also translate the Nigeria’s National Anthem form English to Yoruba.
