Popular Nigerian singer, Emeka Akumefule, better known as Blaqbonez, has taken to social media to reminisce on his days of humble beginnings in the music industry.

Taking to popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter, Blaqbonez who stated that he took the longest road to success in this music thing, recounted how he had to produce his songs himself as he had no money to pay for the services of people.

He also recalled an instance where he fell to the ground on the main road and cried after a sound engineer called to tell him that his system crashed and he lost all his songs.

Speaking further, he revealed that when he made his first 200k, he wanted to use it to buy studio equipment but his mother made him give it to a pastor as first fruit.

In his words,

“I took the longest road to success in this music ting, i fucking dropped 8 mixtapes, when i look back it don’t make sense that I didn’t give up.

The first mixtape i recorded, sound engineer called me to say his system crashed and everything was lost, i fell to the ground on the main road in tears, cos omo i was traveling from oau to lagos every weekend to record it 😭
