33 year old, Stepan Dolgikh has been arrested by the police for allegedly beating up his bride in front of their wedding guests in Russia.
Stepan beat his wife Oksana Poludentseva, on their wedding day in Novosibirsk.
According to eye witness account the groom started beating his wife when he became ‘jealous’ of another guest at their alcohol-fuelled wedding party in a private house in Prokudskoye village, Novosibirsk region.
It was alleged that he accused his new wife of “behaving incorrectly” with a guest at their wedding.
The chief investigator, Kirill Petrushin disclosed to NGS news agency that he beat her till she appeared lifeless and dumped her into a nearby ravine.
He said,
“He began to punch and kick her outside the house. He continued to attack her inside the house. He grabbed her by the hair, hit her, pushed her out into the street, where he also continued to strike her body and head. When she appeared lifeless ‘he dumped her into a nearby ravine”.
The guests were said to be too scared to intervene but were able to call law enforcement to the scene and the groom was arrested by the Russian National Guard.
The groom however confessed to the killing, said Petrushin, senior regional detective of the Russian Investigative Committee.
