The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed the death of a corps member at its orientation camp in Ede, Osun State.
It was earlier reported that the corps member, identified simply as Bright, died in his sleep a few days ago.
According to his colleagues, who took to Facebook to mourn his tragic passing, Bright went to bed and didn’t wake up the following morning.
The Public Relations Officer of NYSC in Osun State, Funmi Okundaye, has confirmed the incident to Punch, acknowledging that Bright passed away in his sleep.
However, she refrained from providing further details regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.
“What you read is that a corps member passed on in his sleep? That was exactly what happened; there is no other thing to add. Nothing to add or remove from it,” Okundaye said.
In other news, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted the popular “celebrity native doctor”, Akwa Okuko Tiwari Aki, in Oba, Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to reports, the native doctor, known for displaying his wealth and affluence on social media, was taken from his room at Triple P Hotel in Oba on Sunday night, July 23, 2023. Sadly, two of his security aides were fatally shot and killed during the abduction. Read here.
