A lady has taken to social media to share why people should limit how kind they get with strangers.
According to her, when she worked as a sales representative at a frozen food store where they sold food stuffs, a woman walked in one day and begged to work for pay, so she and her children could feed. The lady explained that she was just a sales rep and couldn’t help her in that regard.
The woman pleaded for any form of assistance, for which the lady dipped her hand into her bag and gave her some cash. Two days later, the woman came again and the lady gave her cash again. After that, it became a routine habit for the woman to stop by for money or food.
On one of her visits, she pleaded with the lady to always keep the heads of fish that her costumers don’t eat – which the lady obliged. But the woman came one day and complained that the head of fish the lady usually gives to her had nothing in them, and if the lady would be kind enough to always add some fish to it, she would appreciate it.
The lady perceived that as an act of ingratitude and stopped giving her the heads anytime she came for them. She returned a week later, and after the lady said she didn’t keep any fish-head, she critiqued her for not offering to give her money instead.
The lady confessed that she felt irritated and wondered if she made a mistake assisting the woman in the first place. She concluded by encouraging people to draw the line when helping strangers, because it comes with a certain sense of entitlement.
