Controversial Nollywood actor Yul Edochie turns necks after reacting to viral criticism of Pastor Israel Ford’s second marriage.
The video of the US pastor circulated on social media, with many Christians criticizing the man of God’s decision as unbiblical. Yul Edochie’s comment stems from an X user’s tweet on the matter. The X user had made references to the Holy Bible that condemned polygamy, anchoring on the stories of Lamech and Solomon to explain that polygamy opens the door to spiritual compromise, division, and destruction. He also added that although African cultures celebrate polygamy, culture does not override scripture.
This triggered the Nollywood actor to disagree affirmatively. In his tweet which he headlined, “Polygamy is not a s!n”, he also referenced that many great men in the Holy Bible had many wives and God had no issues with it – he even wanted to give them more. That it is the destiny of men to have many wives, but because they do not know who they are, and what society would say, they wind up having just one.
His response has got X users critiquing his character, saying he has no right stands to make such statements since his attempt at polygamy didn’t workout for him.
