A Nigerian woman, who recently underwent a cesarean section (C-section) to give birth to twins, has cried out after being assaulted by her husband.

The woman, who anonymously reached out to human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, disclosed that her husband has beaten her twice since she gave birth.

She further revealed that he also beat her up when she was heavily pregnant with their twin children. According to the lady resident in Asaba, Delta state capital, she needs help.

She shared a photo of her bruised body and wrote,

“Good evening, Sir. I have just given birth to twins through a C-section… My husband has assaulted me on two occasions. He did the same during my eighth month of pregnancy. Please, I am in need of help. These incidents are taking place in Asaba”.

In other news, a Nigerian lady, Adaobi Adibe, has taken to social media to celebrate a successful kidney transplant that gave her a new lease on life and ended her two-year fight with kidney disease.

She expressed her happiness with a series of tweets that perfectly conveyed the immense relief and excitement she was feeling after the successful surgery.

Adaobi shared her inspiring journey and fresh outlook on life on Twitter on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

She said,

“Guys. I just had my transplant surgery. After just 4 weeks on the transplant list. Do you know how insane that is?!?!?!?!? I had mentally prepared myself for 3 years. I am still in shock.

No more dialysis!!!!!!!!!!! I can finally swim!!!! 30 hours of my week are back. I can finally travel. I can move (hopefully next year!!). No more cramps!!!!! No more nausea!!!!!!! No more vomiting!!!!!! No more fatigue!!!!!!

It finally feels like for the first time in 2 years I can finally stop thinking about dying. Like really. Not thinking about how much time I may have left.”
