Woman who campaigned

A Nigerian woman, who actively campaigned for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 elections, has bitterly lamented the increasing cost of living in the country.

In a video circulating on social media, the woman, speaking in Yoruba, bemoaned the exorbitant hike in the cost of basic items only eight months into the new administration, citing the price of Indomie noodles as an example.

She also revealed that her recent electricity bill for a one-room apartment where she only uses a fan is N70,000, noting that it is outrageous.

According to her, she didn’t know the government was paying a subsidy on electricity tariff until the sitting president assumed office, and the cost of electricity skyrocketed. Speaking further, she decried the soaring prices of house rent in Lagos state.

The aggrieved woman also laid hefty curses on the APC-led government, calling them ‘thieves’, and told them to step down from their positions if they lack the capacity to address the economic challenges.
