The 15-year-old girl now identified as Miss Chinwe, who got married to a demented old man in Anambra is a nursing mother with a six months old baby, it has been discovered.
The wedding between the little girl and the man which happened few days ago in Ozubulu area of Anambra, had caused a stir among Nigerians who vehemently condemned the union which was dubbed ‘unholy’.
According to activist, Prince Harrison Gwamnishu, the demented man Izuchukwu Igwilo is said to be a businessman based in Lagos.
It has also been reported that the commissioner for Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Anambra State, Nigeria Police Anambra command and other concerned Nigerians have waded into the matter to rescue the teenage girl from the marriage.
Miss Chinwe has been handed over to Ministry of Women and Child Welfare in Anambra State.
