Nigerian veteran Comedian, Godwin Komone, known popularly by his stage name, Gordons, has stated that he will be the happiest person in the world if the federal government place a ban on giving of tithes and offerings.

According to him, with that, Nigerians will know clerics who were truly called by God.

In a report by Daily Post, the comic merchant gave this advise in his latest comedy collection entitled ‘Comedy Clinic.’ The Delta-State comedian believes that the many problems currently facing Nigeria today boils down to religion.

“The only solution to our problems in Nigeria today is religion.
I will be the happiest person in the world if the federal government place a ban on giving of tithes and offerings from churches.

I tell, we will continue to lament as long as these people keep collecting the little one we have in the name of offering.

By the time tithes and offerings is declared illegal, then we will know those who were called by God and those who called themselves in the ministry.

I tell you, some people actually saw miss call and not calling into church ministry,” Gordons added.

  16. Its not by force to pay tithes. If any body wants to do that you can’t stop them. Where the problem lies is when they try to force you into doing so otherwise any body can pay their tithes and offerings its their money and you can’t dictate how to spend it for them

  32. Tithe and offering is not something to be declared illegal. It is a religious obligation but at the worshippers convenience in sincerity.Gordons has his reasons for suggesting that. Best known to him and best understood by him.For me like I said,it should b at the worshippers convenience cause I have interacted with some Christian friends who wouldn’t attend service becos they don’t have tithe n or offering or they wouldn’t join the choir cos the uniform is too expensive for them to afford.It’s a religious thing and not some sort of competition or compulsion.Worshippers are equal in the sight of God and should be made to feel such even doh d natural hierarchy is apparent the church shouldn’t be a place were less privileged worshippers are reminded of their status but then again, it depends on the church.one can’t generalise
