Political activist, Reno Omokri, has advised opposition parties to refrain from social media brawls since election petition tribunal judgments would not be influenced by it in his opinion.
This comes before the presidential election petition court’s scheduled hearing of the petitions contesting Bola Tinubu’s election as the next president on Monday, May 8.
Reno Omokri encouraged the opposition parties to work toward peace while stressing that the country’s destiny will be determined by the court’s recognition of the President.
He announced this on his Twitter page and urged Nigerians to choose a cause to support in order to improve their country.
He wrote;
“Realise and accept that elections are over. The only hope for a change in who the next President will be is the courts. Fighting supporters of other parties on social media won’t affect the judicial outcome. So, let us heal and behave like human beings with a common destiny.
The election brought about identities like Obidients, BATists, and Kwankwasiyya. Now, we need to step out of that limited circle and resume our original identity as Nigerians. Instead of abuse, let us amuse each other. Rather than curse, let us chart a new cause.”
