Nollywood actress, Mary Remmy-Njoku, has revealed that her husband, businessman Jason Njoku, proposed marriage to her only four days after they started dating.
Mary made this surprising revelation in a post shared via her Instagram page while celebrating her husband on his birthday on Monday, December 11.
According to the mother of three, she didn’t know how to react to his proposal because she felt four days was too soon to be considering marriage.
She said they dated for eighteen months before they eventually got married, and lived a humble life at the beginning of their marriage.
She explained that they slept on a mattress on the floor, shared a kitchen with five other people, and even had to use her car because he didn’t have one.
Mary, however, noted that her husband was very hardworking and ambitious.
The thespian wrote,
“First day we met. 14th January 2011.
He just turned 30. He requested a picture with me. See him standing like a gentleman. Don’t be fooled.We fell in love. Started dating. And in 4 days, HE PROPOSED. ‘I am in love with you Mary. And if we cross this month, we will be together forever’
I didn’t know how to respond. 4 days was too early to be thinking of ‘forever’ I guess. But the guy get plans.
‘I was born to make the world’s silkiest moves’ He says. Funny, but believed him. He worked tirelessly and I never saw him fall asleep.
Though those days were humbling sha. Mattress on the floor. Mosquito net on the wall, No clean running water, shared kitchen with 5 staff, na so person go tie towel go fetch water, staff go dey drag space with am. He had no car yet ( I had 2. So we used mine) But he talked big and worked ‘bigger’. I love AMBITIOUS.
