Popular Nigerian singer, actress, and journalist Onyeka Onwenu has slumped and died after a performance at the birthday celebration of her friend and founder of Emzor Pharmaceuticals Mrs Stella Okoli.
It was reported that the legendary singer died on Tuesday night at the Reddington Hospital in Lagos after slumping at a birthday party.
According to an eyewitness who was present at the birthday party and recounted the incident to the press, he said that;
“It is very sad. Onyeka Onwenu just performed at the birthday of Mrs. Stella Okoli today (Tuesday, July 30, 2024), and after performing, she slumped. She was taken to Reddington Hospital and she couldn’t make it.”
However, the family and relatives of the deceased have yet to announce the passing of the singer at the time of this report.
Onyeka Onwenu who was born on 31 January 1952 will be forever remembered for her great contribution to the Nigerian and African entertainment industry.
