A lady has taken to social media to lament the reasons she doesn’t like staying with her parents at all.
At first she assumed that she was just being s!lly, but after sitting with her thoughts, she realized it was deeper than that.
Firstly, she didn’t like staying with them because of the constant complaints about money. Adding that she came from a lower-middle-class family and being a person who wants to break from that, the complaints about money did something to her that she didn’t like.
Second is the hustle and struggle culture that came with such a family. According to her, there’s a thin line between hard work and struggl3. But her father believes that one must struggle hard so they are able to succeed, referencing the times he would keep them at odd hours at the market.
Third is the patriarchal structure that her family lived by. Being the only daughter, she is expected to do a level of house chores while her brothers lazied about. When her father returns home, and notices that the mother is the only one in the kitchen, he would scold her and leave her brothers out. Her brothers could make mistakes and her parents would be lenient on them, but not her.
