A woman has come online to share her dilemma after she turned 35 years old without a husband.
Realizing she will be 35 in 3 days, a woman has found herself in the aged existential loop that most adults her age have been caught in—the race of time and accomplishment: getting married and having kids before it is too late.
She recounted in retrospect that when she was 30 and her 34-year-old friend was getting married, she encouraged herself that she still had time and would marry at 33. But realizing how fast and far she has come in the blink of an eye, she’s sort of having mixed feelings.
She is conflicted with the opinions of other women who were married in the past, and constantly discouraging her with their experiences and the fact that she deeply wishes for a companion and a kid, at least for when she gets old.
Every time she attempts to shove off the discouragement from other women and make intentional actions towards marriage, the thoughts of losing her freedom and peace of mind flashes in her mind. She confessed that her peace of mind is very important to her, and she fears that a man in her life might alter that.
While on this crossroad she’d pray that God should give her an understanding man who would not cut short her ambitions. She concluded by appreciating her mother for praying instead of pressuring her like most African parents would do.
