A lecturer of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education (AIFCE) has slumped to his death whilst in a lecture hall.

In was gathered that, the lecturer identified as Mike Echetama who is a senior lecturer at the institution, reportedly slumped and died in a lecture hall on Tuesday, February 16th.

According to a report by NAN, the institution’s acting public relations officer, Joseph Okwulehi confirmed the sad incident.

“I can confirm to you that a senior lecturer slumped in a classroom on Tuesday and was confirmed dead at the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Owerri.” He said.

Friends, families, students and colleagues have since taken to social media to mourn the demise of their loved one.

A Facebook user, Njoku Benigurus wrote, “MY BOSS, MY MENTOR, MY LECTURER, SIR MIKE ECHETAMA, MAY UR SOUL REST IN PEACE AMEN..!”

Stanley Uzodinma wrote, “Very sad to hear that Mr Mike Echetama is dead. My bosom friend and master. A Nollywood actor. A lecturer. May his soul rest in peace”.

A colleague of the deceased, Azubuike Erinugha wrote,

The Chairman, Executive Members and entire members of the the Actors Guild Of Nigeria, IMO State Chapter sadly announce the passing onto glory of our beloved member, Late Com. Mike Echetama, members are advised to condole with the family as we await other directives from the family for his burial, a condolence register will be opened in his honor at Bongo Center on Wednesday, may God grant us all the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.i
