The Attorney-General of Nigeria, Abubakar Malami, has stated that it there’s possibility that hoodlums shot at peaceful protesters, during the gunfire incident at the Lekki Tollgate on Tuesday, October 20th.

According to Malami it was possible that hoodlums attacked the peaceful protesters and not men of the Nigerian military.

The Attorney General made this statement while addressing journalist on Monday. He further revealed that investigations is ongoing to ascertain what truly happened in Lekki.

In his words,

“You cannot rule out the possibility of perhaps hoodlums that set in to create a scene… could equally partake in the process.”

However, former spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Sani Usman(rtd) has claimed that blank ammunition was used during the gunfire incidence at the Lekki tollgates on October, 20th.

Usman who spoke on ARISE News on Wednesday, October 27th, stated that blank ammo has little or no effect on its target.
