Ace Nigerian music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has remarked that the rapidly growing rapper OdumoduBlvck has a distinctive musical style with a hint of retro vibes.

In a recent interview, the Mavin CEO expressed his admiration for the rapping of the up-and-coming artist, saying that it is reminiscent of the old-school hip-hop phenomenon in Nigeria.

Don Jazzy had to perform a portion of an unreleased song by OdumoduBlvck word for word in order to explain how well-written the 29-year-old rapper’s lyrics are.

He said;

“I love him [OdumoduBlvck], this is just beautiful. It reminds me of Nigerian hip hop music before our time.
It gives me that old school vibes, and then fusing the urban style into it makes it cool and dope.
It makes it more authentic as it is a native style.
I like him, I like him a lot”.

In other news, Patrick Doyle, has shared his opinion on Grammy-award winning singer, Burna Boy following his controversial assertion that Afrobeats music lacks substance.

Taking to his Facebook page, Patrick Doyle stated that Burna Boy has not, by himself, done anything that can be remotely described as great.

Doyle argued that the feats that appear to be puffing the likes of Burna Boy up, have to be properly attributed to great singers like Fela, Sunny Ade, Majek Fasek, and others who created pathways for the likes of Burna Boy and others to walk through effortlessly.
