lady tells people

A Nigerian lady has sparked lovely responses on Twitter after she asked people in blissful marriages to share their stories.

According to @chiiogbu, people in good marriages should be more open with their beautiful stories because bad stories of marriages have taken the center stage on social media.

She said a lot of single folks, like herself, are no longer interested in getting married because of the terrible marriage stories they read online.

“I need people in genuinely happy marriages to normalize sharing advice and their cute stories because their colleagues in toxic marriages overshare thereby making it look very unappealing to us singles.

We need balance plsss”

Her tweet quickly garnered traction on social media and some couples came out to share their lovely stories and how sweet their marriages have been.

However, some others stated that they can’t share their stories for fear of attracting evil eyes and whatnot into their homes.

See how some reacted below,

One Nonso Dimgba wrote, “Marriage is very good and sweet, 9yrs this year in marriage and people still think am single when I’m done with child birth….

One factor that causes toxic marriage is PRIDE and it eventually leads to irreconcilable issues..”

@theellageorge wrote, “This post made me kinda sad, because I’m guilty of being silent about my marriage. Some friends have asked me to be open but I can’t. The truth will sound like a lie or exaggeration. Even after 8 years, I still find myself at random times, thanking God for my good fortune.”

@ammielv wrote, “My husband is a great guy.. it really is the little things. He is patient, He is kind, He encourages me to bring the best of me to everything & even when there’s any issue, we don’t go to bed upset with each other. We forgive each other more, He’s legit my best friend”

@amocoboy1 wrote, “This is my 12th year in marriage to my lovely, reserved, godly, but stubborn wife and beautiful children.
The family life has become normal to me: love for my wife, patience, tolerance, trust, hard work , discipline. It gets better day by day and also comes with its challenge too”
