A Nigerian lady has expressed disappointment after her sister who went for the compulsory one year National youth service came back home pregnant.
According to the lady identified as @Nnenna_Boo on Twitter, as soon as her pregnant sister arrived at home, she quickly went into her room and locked herself inside to avoid witnessing any drama that would ensue as a result of her sister’s situation.
Taking to the micro-blogging platform, she wrote,
“My sister who went for NYSC. She just came back with pregnancy. I’ve locked myself in my room,I’m not ready for the drama”.
Her post however generated mixed reactions from social media users. See some comments below,
A Twitter user @kayodedaniels wrote, “It’s wrong. The goal was to go for NYSC. We are Nigerian and also Christians, we have culture and ways of doing things. You can’t become pregnant for a stranger the family know nothing about. This is irresponsible of her. Pregnancy changes a lot, this can change her entire life”.
@Freeman2gud wrote, “She’s an adult for crying out load & she has finished school. When are we as parents goin 2stop dictating &deciding whom our children will, cld &shld marry? D young lady needs all the support she can get from her family right now. If she’s my daughter, I will accept &counsel her”.
