A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to share the heartbreaking moment she got evicted out of her apartment for giving 3 hours shelter to an unknown illegal immigrant in China.
According to her, it was her birthday, and she went out to celebrate with friends. They had dinner, went to the club, after which she returned home. After taking a shower, her phone rang, and it was one of the people she had invited to her birthday celebration. He pleaded to stay the night at her place with the excuse that his roommate was not picking up his phone. Because she lived alone, she didn’t see a problem with him coming over, so she sent him her address, and he came over. He took the couch downstairs while she went upstairs to her room.
At about 9am she overheard people knocking on her door. She came down, but the guy whispered that she shouldn’t open the door. She asked why and he pleaded that it was the police and it wouldn’t be good for him if they met him there. She agreed, refused to open the door, and that made the police to enter forcefully.
To her surprise she realized that the person in her house was a wanted illegal immigrant. The authorities had caught him on camera and tracked him to her apartment. She explained her situation and said she wasn’t aware he didn’t have documents. They handcuffed and took him out. Hours later they called her to pay a fine, and served her a quit notice of 3-4 days. According to her the owner of the apartment was also affected because he could no longer rent the apartment until further notice.
She added that she is putting her story out there for others to learn. “I wish I had seen a video like this, this wouldn’t have happened to me, I would have been more careful”, she said.
