Nigerian men are currently in a brawl with a Kenyan man who advised men to detach from their wives when they are pregnant.

The man who identified as Eric had earlier advised men to ignore their wives whenever they are pregnant and only assist them financially.

According to him, as a man you’ve done your job by impregnating your wife, so allow her to do hers by detaching from her during this period.

His tweet read;

“Men, If she gets pregnant, Stay away from her. You may offer resources to support her during pregnancy — but detach. You have done your work, let her do hers. Did you ever see your FATHER hovering around your mother when she was pregnant? GROW UP! #MasculinitySaturday.”

His advice however didn’t sit well with some Nigerian men, as they trooped to his comment section to lash him for saying such.

Below are some of the comments;

@OOluYinKah:  Men, Be careful and selective with the kind of content you expose yourself to. No matter how you strong-willed you think you are, this content are storing up in your subconscious bank. And if care is not taken, you will one day withdraw from the deposits you’ve been making over time. If you have a working brain, you should know what true masculinity means. Not every advice is good advice. Filter what you consume. A wise man once said, “Stand guard at the door of your mind.” If you don’t filter what you consume, I’m afraid it might consume you

@japhetto:  This one is not masculinity this is being a sadist and a narcissist, I pity the kids that will grow up in your home, they will be starved of all forms of emotional support and love, as long as your give them money your fine. A very sad pitiful man

@seunbayo89:  I don’t support this Nothing masculine about this Except she isn’t your partner Show you don’t love your partner if this is your thinking
