Celebrity stylist, Toyin Lawani has defended herself after she received backlash over the raunchy nun photos she shared on social media.
The serial entrepreneur slammed those criticizing her and noted that Nigerians have refused to evolve when it comes to fashion and depicting themes.
Speaking further the CEO of Tiannah’s Place Empire revealed that she learnt fashion internationally and will continue to break fashion boundaries regardless of the people’s opinions.
Toyin insisted that she won’t be tendering an apology as her critics have suggested. According to her, having the crucifix sign on her costume is not in anyway a disrespect to the Christian religion but pure art.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote,

Honestly Nigerians have refused to be liberated when it comes to fashion and depicting themes , when will you get it into your empty skulls that costumes can carry crucifix and doesn’t mean its a sign of disrespect, people dress like sexy nuns all day , for all sorts of events and Halloween etc yet , y’all on my page crying and wailing like I killed someone in your family“JuSt because I’m Nigerian but if It’s Kim or your RiRi or Beyoncé now , you will be hearing aww , so hot , my role model.
