Hon. Olugbenga Omole, a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, has escaped an alleged assassination attempt on his life.

It was gathered that unknown gunmen attacked the lawmaker, who is representing Akoko Southwest Constituency 1, on Thursday night March 31, in Akure, the state capital.

Confirming the incident to newsmen in Akure, the lawmaker said the gunmen fired multiple shots at his car.

In other news, Two men have been arrested by men of the Bauchi State Police Command for killing a 20-year-old okada rider, identified as Auwalu Gidado, and stealing his motorcycle.

According to the spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the suspects, Nura Ibrahim and Auwalu Manu, brutally slaughtered the victim and made away with his motorcycle valued at N330,000 and sold it at the paltry sum of N90,000.

The PPRO in a statement said,

“On 23/03/2022 intelligence report at the disposal of the Command revealed that one Nura Ibrahim and Auwalu Manu of Walakero village, Futuk ward Alkaleri L.G.A criminally conspired among them and lured one Auwalu Gidado aged 20yrs of the same address who happens to be a commercial motorcycle rider AKA (Achaba) from Walakero village to Balande village, of Alkaleri LGA.
