Relief has come to telephone users in the country as national telecommunications operator, Globacom, has resumed Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card activation and replacement at select Gloworld retail outlets across Nigeria.
A press statement issued by the company in Lagos over the weekend said this followed the lifting of the suspension of activation of new SIM cards and replacement of lost ones which the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy had announced last December.
Globacom said existing Glo subscribers and those who intend to join the network can now activate a new SIM or replace lost/damaged SIM on provision of a valid National Identification Number (NIN) which is the new guideline given by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
“For us, the needs of our customers come first. We are keenly aware of the difficulty the ban had on our existing and prospective subscribers while it lasted and look forward to the respite they will have with the recommencement of SIM activations”, the company said in the statement.
“We have already commenced SIM registration and activations in line with the announced guidelines of NCC. All our esteemed customers have to do is to visit the GLO SIM Activation outlet closest to them. A full list of our Glo SIM Activation outlets can be found at www.gloworld.com/ng/sim“, Globacom added.
The company had recently equipped its outlets nationwide with requisite facilities to enable Glo subscribers to register for their NIN and link it to their SIMs in an easy and convenient manner in line with NCC’s directive.
Globacom also introduced Appointment Manager, an application through which people who wish to register for NIN will be able to choose a day, time, and Gloworld outlet convenient for them to visit for the process.

An alleged rapist and notorious cultist, who allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl in Warri, Delta state, has reportedly been killed during a cult clash.
Human rights activist, Comrade Israel Joe, who disclosed this via a Facebook post, said the suspect had last September, abducted the teenage mother at gunpoint and repeatedly raped her in his house.
He revealed the girl was later rescued and the suspect arrested by the police. He was transferred to the Delta State Police Command where he was later granted bail.
In a new development, the rape suspect who was recently released on bail has reportedly been killed during a cult clash in Delta.
Israel Joe’s post reads,
Alleged Rapist, cultist, Kidnapper and armed robber met his Waterloo.
How many of you remembered the story I posted here on the 15th of September last year, how a girl was constantly raped into pregnancy by an alleged cultist, kidnapper and armed robber, who brought gun to the house of the girl, bailed up the mother and carry the child to his house in his Keke to rape her all the time?
I told the mother to dive the boy along with the gun and raise an alarm which she did until people came to her rescue and the boy was arrested to Enerhen Police station.
We insisted and he was transferred to Delta State Police Command Headquarters Asaba. The police were later compromised and even with the gun, granted bail to him instead of remanding him to Okere prison.
The police were asking who snapped him with the gun just because monies exchanged hands even with the testimony of the girl and mother, justice was denied.
We had quickly got a link and sent the girl on the pics above out of Nigeria while the child remained with her mother until she would have her papers and come pick the child.
The moment the guy returned from Asaba, he committed more heinous crimes and led his cult group in killing others in their inter cult clash. Some weeks ago, this same guy was also killed and his body butchered into pieces at Udu.
He met his match for all the pain he made this little girl went through. He caused untold High Blood pressure for the mother and the girl. Obviously he was cursed and he walked into his death. If the police had sent him to jail, he probably would be alive today but his evils pushed him into his victorious fall. Rest in Hell.

Ace Nigerian comedian and actor, Bovi Ugboma has on his official Instagram page, shared an interesting story about Nigerian singer, Davido as he celebrates the latter’s one decade as a music performer.
Nigerian singer, Davido is currently achieving his latest feat of being a decade old in the music industry and while fans and a handful of his colleagues in the music scene have taken to social media to celebrate, top Nigerian comedian, Bovi decided to share an interesting story about the singer during the Genesis of his career.
Bovi, on his IG page wrote about one time Davido was performing at a comedy night club and the DJ there cut off his songs because Davido failed to greet him and despite begging and protests by Davido and his fans present, the reluctant DJ still cut short his performance that night.
Bovi shared the story as thus,
Davido walked into koko lounge with a few of his friends. Then the 30 billion gang was still in its embryonic stages so the small venue could accommodate his entourage.
Koko lounge was the biggest comedy club by reputation and Wednesday’s were the best comedy nights. It was such a famous Wednesday, many artists came to perform their new hit songs just to market to the organic audience. If they vibed to your new song, the artist was sure the song was gonna be a hit.
Dami Duro had just dropped. So with Davido walking into the lounge, people were already excited. He waltzed through the ecstatic audience to the vip section to take his seat while trying not disturb the comedian that was on stage. We all sat to watch the show In Anticipation of davidos performance. The time came and he hit the stage. The atmosphere was frenzied, everyone was on their feet as the famous beats of the song gyrated the speakers; we were drunk and screaming, the girls lost their home training, the boys lost their manners! As everyone pranced and danced, the unthinkable happened…. unplug. The dj set went off.
The pissed off dj deliberately switched it off. His gross was “davido no greet am when he come” A miasma of anger filled the air. The audience went from happy to irate. Davido surprisingly was still begging this dj. This was a room of about 45 loyal Wednesday customers eager to party but One dj said, “davido no greet am” . @buchicomedian angrily instructed that the music came back on. They were ruining his clubs reputation, he warned. The music started again and as if it hadn’t even started before, the hall exploded with ecstasy. One didn’t need to be drugged to be caught up in this mood. Davido doubled his energy and his infection spread across the room. Then it happened again. The dj unplugged his set, again! There was this brief silence and then loud protests. Oga dj was hell bent on sabotaging the “small boy wey no get respect”. And that was how the evening ended abruptly. I remember assuring the dj that he’d be fired in the morning.
Well, the most important part of the story is that Davido left and went on to become a superstar. Happy ten year anniversary @davido

Controversial media personality, Daddy Freeze, has advised Christians to start saving their tithes and offerings towards funding their “plan B” to exit Nigeria.
The Nigerian radio broadcaster gave this advise while reacting to Pastor Paul Adefarasin’s advice to his members to have an alternative plan to leave the country.
According to the clergyman, he has faith but he’s also secured an escape route for himself and his family in case things go south.
Reacting to this in a lengthy social media post, Freeze wrote,
“The scriptures clearly instructs shepherds to lay down their lives for their sheep like Christ did, so I’m not understanding this everyone is on his own Christian ideology.
When it’s time to fund their projects, they come to you and you respond generously with your tithes, seeds, gifts, offering and pledges.
But in the time of war, they remind you that you are on your own and advise you to sort yourself out with a plan B. I struggle to find the cohesiveness in this mindset and I’m benumbed that their supporters are cheering them on, wanting an encore.
Wake up, my advice is that you set aside something for your plan B, start with your tithes, seeds and offering, as it is clear that unlike Christ, who included all of mankind in his plan, you aren’t included in theirs.

A set of conjoined twins have been successfully separated during a sensitive operation at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital (RCWMCR) in Cape Town, South Africa.
The hospital revealed the twins were brought in February, when they were only four days old.
Ntombikayise Tyhalisi, the 31-year-old mother of the beautiful babies identified as Siphosethu and Amahle was overly excited over the success of the operation.
According to her, she could not believe that she would be able to hold them in separate arms after their birth.
“I am overjoyed! I wasn’t expecting to leave here holding my children one in each arm,” she said.
The head of Paediatric Neurosurgery at the hospital, Professor Tony Figaji said the babies were joined at the head in what is referred to as craniopagus twinning, the rarest form of conjoined twinning.
“Craniopagus twins occur approximately once in every 2.5 million live births worldwide. We were fortunate in this case that the connection did not involve any shared brain tissue and didn’t involve major [blood] vessels going from one twin to the other,” Figaji added.
Meanwhile, Plastic Surgery Head, Professor Saleigh Adams, told the department that the teams were prepared for a marathon surgery, but it took them only one and a half hours.
In his words,
“We were prepared for a six-hour, at least, surgery. On this occasion, the surgery lasted all of This is a huge plus for the recovery of the twins.
The hospital’s focus now turns to ensure the healthy healing of the surgical areas, both patients and mom are doing well following the surgery and continue to receive follow-up care.”
