The Police in Ogun State have arrested a young man identified as Kazeem Olanrewaju, who absconded with a Toyota Venza car with registration number APP 775 GB given to him to wash.
According to a statement by the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Kazeem was arrested, when the DPO Idiroko division CSP Shadrach Oriloye was on routine patrol with his men and sighted the Venza car without a number plate, driven in a suspicious manner. He was there and then flagged down, but instead of him stopping, he zoomed off.
He was hotly chased and apprehended. On searching the vehicle, it was discovered that the number plate of the vehicle was removed and kept in the car.
”On interrogation, he confessed that he was working with a car wash in Festac town Lagos State, and he was given the car by a customer to wash while the owner went to a nearby barbing salon to have his hair cut.
Before the arrival of the owner of the car, the suspect who was in possession of the car key ran away with the car. He was on his way to the neighbouring Benin republic with the car when he was caught by the DPO and his men.
Popular gospel singer, Sonnie Badu, has been accused of being an “academic scam” after he posted on social media that he is now a Professor and Dean of Musicology.
The musician had taken to Instagram on March 30 to announce his alleged achievement which raised eyebrows on social media.
He shared a certificate as proof and wrote: “Mummy it’s here … it’s official Professor And Dean of Musicology at @tiuauniversity”.
However after he shared the post, some social media users questioned his academic feat because he got his PhD just few months prior.
A man, identified as @mnm_mensah, took it upon himself to investigate the issue and has come out with some “evidence” to call Sonnie Badu an academic scam. He also claimed the academic institution he got the certificates from is fake.
He wrote:
People are wondering why I’m on his case and why I’m calling him out. The case be simple. He’s an academic scam and not a victim of a scam. How did it all start? I chanced on a video where dude had earned a Professorial Cert.
Like for real? A Certificate of Professorship? How on earth!!!Face with tears of joyFace with tears of joy So as academic and curious as I am, go to Google Scholar (an academic search engine for anything academia) and type his name to see his publications… Unfortunately none. You can try that and see. Why? In the British system, Professorship is a rank attained as a result of your contribution to knowledge.
In the American system it is a term for anyone who teaches at the University level so let’s assume it’s not British but American. So I quickly run to Google to check out the institution. No website, no images of the school. Just blog posts. Then I chance on the second image. Sonnie attained his Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD in 4 months all from that school. Now we know you at least need one to do the other.
Except in some few cases where one has been able to acquire a PhD using the Bachelor’s but in all these three can’t be run concurrently in 4 months and for one who has not had any tertiary education before there was something fishy. So I go and confirm and it’s true dude said it. He gallantly displays all certs on his socials. He attributes them to grace and favour.
Reacting to the allegations, Sonnie Badu wrote on Instagram:
“When they don’t understand the frequency of your grace and you hard work behind the scenes they bring their own PHD (pull him down) LIONS DONT RESPOND TO FROGS … #DrBadu @tiuauniversity God has us.”
The young man also revealed that he reached out to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation for more information and shared the feedback on Twitter.
He wrote:
I got a reply yesterday from the institution yesterday saying there’s no information on the school which confirms the several checks I ran on the websites of the accreditation bodies in the USA is. It’s therefore surprising that @SonnieBaduuk makes several posts this morning claiming we are trying to pull him down.
Hence calling us frogs and fools for questioning the Authenticity of his degrees. For an ‘iconic’ Gospel Musician who is proclaiming the gospel through music and preaching, I find it sad how he drags the name of God into the gutters calling it grace. Sonnie BADU, come and give us the details of your study. Bring transcripts to show.
As at the time of filing this report, Sonnie Badu is yet to address the accusation.
A 24-year-old man reportedly cut off his grandmother’s head, placed the severed head in a plastic bag, and took it to Kisumu Central Police Station in Kenya.
On getting to the police station with the bag containing the head, the man asked the officers to open the bag. To the shock of the officers, they found the freshly chopped head in the bag after they opened it, as the man had instructed.
The sad incident happened on Monday, April 5th, in Nyalenda slum, Kenya. In a viral video shared on Twitter, the police escorted the suspect back to the crime scene to investigate the murder.
According to TV47 Kenya, the body of the grandmother was immediately evacuated from the scene. The reason why the young man beheaded his grandmother and took her head to the police station remains unknown, but he has been taken into custody.

Wizkid’s babymama and manager, Jada Pollock has shared the latest update on the singer, Wisekid, who was accused of copying and copyrighting Wizkid’s songs.
It was earlier reported that the upcoming singer was busted and called out on social media after it was revealed that he cloned Wizkid’s songs and was making 30 Million Naira monthly from the resulting streams.
The report subjected Jada to premium dragging on social media for ‘failing’ to effectively carry out her job as Wizkid’s manager. She was also blasted for remaining silent after her attention was called to the alleged fraudulent act.
Reacting to the report, Jada has taken to Twitter to disclose that Wizkid’s record label, RCA Records, a subsidiary of Sony, are already working on taking down Wisekid’s illegal upload from the streaming platforms.

A TV personality has revealed the unusual prayer request she started praying after discovering Chioma Rowland dropped out of school to be with Davido.
Recall that there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the relationship between the award-winning singer and his babymama, following reports that the singer dumped her for Instagram model, Mya Yafai.
The hot topic recently made its way to TVC’s program “Your View” and one of the hosts, BeeCee Ugboh, shared her take on Chioma’s predicament.
BeeCee, who is Igbo, stated that according to Igbo tradition, if a woman’s bride price has not been paid, she is on the same level with a girlfriend and a side chic.
She added that the introduction ceremony isn’t as solid as payment of bride price, and until it is paid to the bride’s family, she is still a girlfriend and doesn’t have the “covering” accorded wives.
She also noted that in the case of a breakup, the woman doesn’t have the backing of tradition and the law. Insinuating that Chioma doesn’t have a stake in Davido’s life.
“Where I come from, introduction is not marriage o. The difference now is that, they just came to say, ‘OK, na here you dey stay o’, that’s the difference. You’re still on the same level,” BeeCee said.
Reacting to reports that Chioma left school because of the singer, she said when she first heard it, she prayed to God not to give her children without sense.
She said,

A Nigerian man, identified as Dayo Ayoola, has publicly broken off his 5-year relationship with his fiancée over cheating allegation.
Taking to Twitter, the heartbroken man narrated the genesis of his relationship with the lady and how heavily invested he was in making it work because he intended to marry her.
According to him, his ex-fiancee whom he identified as Omotena, allegedly got pregnant for her ex-boyfriend in 2017 and secretly aborted it without his knowledge. However, she eventually confessed and he forgave her heartily without referencing the issue.
Unfortunately, another trouble began in 2021 when she travelled abroad for her MSc programme. He said he suspected foul play when she stopped taking his calls at night, but he still continued because he was committed to their relationship.
The incident that broke the camels back occured on Tuesday, April 6, when she sneaked into an “unknown” bathroom to take his call after he called her repeatedly.
After narrating his heartbreak story, Dayo broke off his relationship with her and tagged her to his tweet.
The post has since garnered traction on social media and the young man has been compelled to deactivate his Twitter account.

“There are other times that I can not do movies. Trust me, this clothing business takes time, except you just don’t have that vision. I recently opened a branch in Abuja where I have a house because I have a lot of customers there. Right now, I am more into my business ― making and selling clothes.
“I have the face already. If I leave the movie industry for a while to do my business, I will return and no one will notice that I was gone. I have plenty of films that are not out yet. Presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, has in a recent statement, said the wailing of some Nigerians will not stop President Buhari from embarking on his medical trip.
Onochie stated this while reacting to the criticism that has trailed the head of state’s decision to go to the UK for his routine medical checkup.
In a post shared on her social media handles, Lauretta said the President will continue to embark on the medical trips until he leaves office in 2023.

The fact remains that if President Buhari chooses, he will go for checkups in 2022, and 2023. Then from 2024, when he will not need to inform Nigerians, he will continue to go. Its his choice to go or not to go.

Senior Pastor of Trinity Church, Ituah Ighodalo, has cautioned pastors against misinforming their members about the COVID-19 vaccines.
In an interview with Arise TV on Tuesday, April 5, the clergyman is quoted as saying,
“It is foolishness to keep having faith that God will protect you from an infection he has made provision for vaccines that can provide a high percentage of protection.
I have taken the jab. I prayed about it, and I got a clear direction from God to go and receive it, and I have explained to my people in church that God provides knowledge. I will like to appeal to my brother pastors to do their research, get the knowledge and stop misinforming and improperly educating people on guess work, instincts and mere suppositions. Coronavirus is real, and you need the vaccination.
The Bible says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
He called on the government to compel the church and also the leaders to get qualified knowledge and answer important questions on COVID-19 vaccine.
Some people think the COVID-19 vaccine is a deliberate effort to wipe out the human population. We need to address the fears and prove it is not so. Other persons think it is the sign of the anti-christ (666) and we need to prove this is not also true. Other people believe the vaccines have long term effect and if you take it today, in 20 years’ time, it would affect them. We also need to address such fears and prove scientifically this is not so,” he said.
The problem is a lot of these questions about the vaccine are not being properly addressed and there is too much rumour flying all over the place. Some churches believe in divine health but if they study further, they would also know that God provided knowledge for healing.”
A rather interesting yet surprising story of a teenager getting physical with an alleged “man of God” over a girl has stirred up a lot of reactions on Twitter.
According to social media user @naebilli, the teenager, a 16 year old boy, got physical with the pastor after the latter allegedly fondled the backside of the teenager’s girlfriend.
@naebilli in her tweet, revealed that the young man beat up the pastor for grabbing his girlfriend’s ass. The incident happened last Sunday, April 4, 2021.

According to the American business magazine, the list was curated from Hollywood exports and Grammy artists to award-winning ideas that can save the world.
The publication, via its official Twitter account, @Forbesafrica, said,

A Nigerian man, Peter Ijara has been honored for his achievement as the first banker in the history of Amanato Ozuakoli Uruala community in Imo State.
Ijara was conferred with an award of honour for being the community’s “Pioneer Mega Banker” at a ceremony organised by Umudiala Development Union on Monday, April 5.
The award was presented by Imo State Commissioner of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition, Hon Iyke Umeh, who lauded the erudite banker for his steadfastness and doggedness in the banking industry.
The elated man, who has been a banker for 17 years and served as branch manager and area manager for Eco bank, said he was excited to be recognized by his people.
