A 26-year-old man identified as Sarki Abdul allegedly committed suicide in Plateau State by drinking a poisonous substance suspected to be sniper.
The incident happened at Dilimi area of Jos North on Sunday, February 21, two days after the Bauchi Poly graduate reportedly told his sister that he was fed up with the world.
A source close to the family told Nigerian Tribune that Sarki borrowed a sum of N300,000 from his childhood friend to invest in his scrap business with a promise to pay the money back in three weeks time.
It was learnt that the deceased ran into a problem and could not pay back the money as promised but refused to tell his friend about his predicament.
According to the source, Abdul suddenly withdrew to himself and started acting in a strangely, adding that two days before he took the drastic step, he told his sister that he was fed up with this world and preferred to die.
Hours before his death, at about 10:45 am on Sunday, Abdul approached his friend again to tell him that he was duped in the process of investing the money into scrap business and pleaded with him to give him more time to pay him back.
“After this encounter, he went to his shop which is adjacent to his friend’s shop and drank a complete bottle of sniper and fell to the ground. He was taken to Ola Hospital where he was confirmed dead,” said the family source.
Meanwhile, one Nazif Umar Maikwalli described the deceased as a simple, humble, well brought up and hardworking young man.
“I was confused, dumbfounded and almost lost my sense of belongings. How can a humble, simple and well brought up gentleman just give up his life because of 300k debt? I am yet to accept the fact that Abdul malik, left us as a result of that debt. I know him even though I can’t tell much about his present struggle but I know he was such a hardworking chap, focus and brilliant boy with lots of good future ahead of him. He had his ND from Fed poly Bauchi. May your soul rest in peace Sarki.” he wrote.

Recent details about infamous Nigerian suspected fraudster, Hushpuppi have given rise to an unfounded claim that He would have gotten away with scamming but he caught the attention of the US Feds after he tried to impress Blac Chyna.
Hushpuppi, was arrested in June 2020 in Dubai and extradited to the US.
According to the US Department of Justice, Hushpuppi whose real name is Ramon Olorunwa Abbas was charged with “laundering hundreds of millions of dollars from business email compromise (BEC) frauds and other scams, including schemes targeting a US law firm, a foreign bank and an English Premier League soccer club.”
It later emerged that Huspuppi also allegedly conspired with 3 North Korean computer hackers to steal more than $1.3 billion from companies and banks in the U.S. and other countries, federal prosecutors in the US said.
Now, there are claims Hushpuppi might have gotten away with all that for much longer, but he started hanging out with Blac Chyna and this drew the attention of US federal agents.

The 14th edition of Headies, the Nigerian music awards show held to recognize outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry, held in Lagos on Sunday, February 21st.
In the bid to observe Covid-19 safety guidelines, only few artiste were present at the event. One of the few artistes who graced the event are Wizkid, and legendary singer, 2baba.
Wizkid who was awarded the artiste of the year and the Viewers’ Choice Award at the 14th edition of the Headies, on seeing the veteran singer went to him and prostrated as a sign of respect.

A man identified as Kadir is on the run after he allegedly stabbed his younger brother, Suleiman to death in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
It was gathered that trouble started on Friday morning, February 19, when Suleiman scolded Kadir’s wife for being rude to their mother.
Kadir, who was not home when the altercation happened, confronted his younger brother for daring to rebuke his wife when he returned. Their mother was said to have intervened and settled the quarrel between the two siblings.
However, not satisfied, Kadir was said to have revisited the issue later in the day and once again, their mother stepped in and calmed the situation.
Suleiman was said to have put the matter behind him and went about his normal business. Kadir later traced him to where he went to late in the evening, allegedly stabbed him and fled.
Suleiman was rushed to the hospital on Friday night where he died on Saturday morning from the injury he sustained during the attack.
Spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, Princewill Osaigbovo, who confirmed the incident said that the victim died at the St. Jude Hospital, where he was rushed to for medical attention.

Nigerian rap artiste, Vector has shared his thoughts on how collaborative efforts in the Nigerian music industry can yield positive results.
In an interview with The Beat 99.9Fm and uploaded on the radio station’s YouTube channel, the ”King Kong” crooner was asked about how he felt regarding the togetherness that was displayed by Nigerians during the #EndSars.
In his response, Vector said the music industry players need to communicate more because great things can be achieved if all come together.
He also spoke on the impact on a joint concert between Wizkid and Davido, which he says could lead to the Wembley stadium being filled.
In his words;
“Boom, I learned this in school in Unilag that the average African mind is based on communalism. We are a community that is why it is said that it takes the whole community to raise a child.

CDQ accused the organizers of engaging in ‘Industry Politics’ after his colleague, Naira Marley missed out on the Street Hop award.

Sunday, February 21st was a remarkable day for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who served at MERCY TV, Warri, Delta State, Nigeria.
Snr. Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, the president of MERCYTV, donated One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira (1,500,000.00) to both the outgoing and incoming NYSC members in Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministry during a unique partner program.
This is a usual giveaway to corps members posted to MERCY TV over time. The General Overseer, Snr. Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin is dedicated to building and empowering corps members every year as part of his contribution to nation building.
Every year an average of 30 corps members are posted to MERCY TV to serve in different departments as their Primary Assignment. The church provides accommodation and salary for them and at the end of their service year, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin blesses them with an additional financial rewards.
While the outgoing corps members received one million naira (N1,000,000.00), the incoming corps members got a welcome pack in the sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000.00)
Nigerian singing sensation, Simi has shared how having a daughter has made her become so vulnerable. Simi, in a recent tweet, stated that knowing that she can’t control her daughter getting hurt, sad, insecure, in pain, confused or afraid, has made her the most vulnerable she has been in life.
The songstress went on to state that she wants to be the best example to her daughter. Simi tweeted;

A Nigerian lady has committed suicide after she suffered heartbreak. A Twitter user @sisi_alagboeko who shared the story online, wrote
“A girl committed suicide yesterday in the hostel, cause she caught her boyfriend cheating, and the guy decided to break up with her, I don’t know if I should laugh at the sheer stupidity of taking sniper because of a man, or pity her cause the guy still doesn’t care.”

In related news, a 400 level student of the Federal University of Dutse, Jigawa State identified as Abdul, reportedly committed suicide after his girlfriend cheated on him.
The deceased, a Mathematics student described as a First Class material, reportedly drank a poisonous substance suspected to be Sniper.
According to reports, his girlfriend identified as Rafi’atu, a 200 level student of same institution, allegedly ended their relationship and went to Kano to spend Valentine’s Day with another guy.
Fast rising Nigerian music artiste, Bella Shmurda, was one of the few artistes who graced the 14th Headies award ceremony held in Lagos on Sunday, February 21st.

The Nigerian Air Force has released the names of the seven personnel that perished in the military aircraft that crashed in Abuja today February 21.
According to a statement released by AVM Ibikunle Daramola, the Director of Public Relations and Information, the deceased personnel include;
a. Flight Lieutenant Haruna Gadzama (Captain).
b. Flight Lieutenant Henry Piyo (Co-Pilot).
c. Flying Officer Micheal Okpara (Airborne Tactical Observation System (ATOS) Specialist).
d. Warrant Officer Bassey Etim (ATOS Specialist).
e. Flight Sergeant Olasunkanmi Olawunmi (ATOS Specialist).
f. Sergeant Ugochukwu Oluka (ATOS Specialist).
g. Aircraftman Adewale Johnson (Onboard Technician).
Daramola said the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Oladayo Amao, has instituted an investigative panel to determine the remote and immediate causes of the accident.

A plane crash has occurred in Abuja and sadly, it is fatal.
The aircraft was identified as a Military plane and it crashed near Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, amidst reports that there were no survivors.
Aviation minister Hadi Sirika confirmed the development in a short statement on Twitter Sunday afternoon.
Her tweet reads ;
“A military aircraft King Air 350 has just crashed short of our Abuja runway after reporting engine failure enroute Minna. It appears to be fatal. We should remain calm & wait for the outcome of investigation by the military, while we pray for the departed soul/souls if any.”
