Woman shares how she was macheted by her bike rider and fellow passenger after she refused to part with her purse and phone

A Nigerian lady has taken to Twitter to narrate her ordeal with thieves who disguised as a bike rider and a passenger.

The lady who resides in Ibadan, revealed that she got into a bike early in the morning in order to register her NIN to her SIM card.

According to her, it’s normal for commercial bikes in Ibadan to carry two passengers but she had no idea the second passenger with her and the bike man were robbers operating together.

When they got to a particular spot, the passenger pretended to alight and the bike rider stopped for him. They then produced a cutlass and tried to rob the woman.

She refused to part with her purse and phone so they injured her on the face with a machete.

She narrated her ordeal as thus,

“January will be a tough month, there might be a spike in Coronavirus cases” – NCDC says

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has raised an alarm of January 2021 being a very tough month following the disregard for health protocols during the December holidays.

Speaking at the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on Tuesday December 29, Director-General of NCDC, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu noted that the nation’s health system is struggling to cope with the increasing number of coronavirus infections daily.

He added that a spike in Coronavirus infections in January is imminent.

Ihekweazu said,

“We just faced the worst week since we started responding to this outbreak. We had more cases in Nigeria last week than in any other previous week since the beginning of the outbreak.

“Pictures and videos from across the country paint a very disheartening situation because it appears that our messages, our appeals to Nigerians over the last few months have not been heeded and we have gone ahead with business as usual.

“Events centres are full, social activities are full and so it is no surprises that cases are rising.

“January will be a tough month, no doubt about it. So, we have to brace ourselves for the consequences of the activities that we have decided to carry out in December.”

A lady has taken the internet by surprise following the action she took as revenge on her boyfriend who cheated on her.

In a video that was shared, the lady damages her boyfriend’s PlayStation 4, cut up some of his sneakers, and poured gooey items on them.

The said lady had taken to her Insta-story to share how she discovered her man was having an affair and in a bid to deal with him in the best way she deemed fit, the lady with IG handle @barbievdxoll recorded herself causing damage to his valuable items.

After she was done cutting up his footwears, the lady threw them in the bathroom together with his PS console and poured a liquid substance on them after which she put on the steamer in the bathroom and soaked them in hot water.

She then wrote, “Now, I’m done”

A Zambian man, identified as Enock Mwenda, reportedly killed his married girlfriend’s husband after the deceased caught them red-handed in bed together.

According to Zambian Observer, Enock told the police that he killed his lover’s husband in self-defense because he thought the victim was going to kill him instead.

The suspect was arrested and remanded in prison by the police in Kitwe for killing the deceased on December 21, 2020.

It was gathered that the boyfriend visited his lover as usual, not knowing that the husband was coming back that fateful evening.

The deceased, who was a bricklayer returned home from work after two-weeks of being away on duty. On arrival, he walked in on his wife of 12 years and her lover in bed.

The said scene led to a confrontation between the men and the suspect overpowered the deceased and hit him on the head with a stool, killing him instantly.

Enock speaking with the police on December 25, said he was shocked when the man caught him in bed with his wife, as they had never been caught.

In his words,

“I have been going out with his wife since 29th January 2018 when I employed her in one of my shops within Kitwe and her husband has never caught me,”

“He caught me red handed in his bed with his wife; I thought he would kill me hence I threw the stool on him in self defense.”

The bricklayer and his wife got married in 2008 and have 4 children together.

French-Italian fashion designer, Pierre Cardin dies at 98

Renowned French-Italian fashion designer, Pierre Cardin has died at the age of 98.

The Legendary designer died at a hospital in Neuilly, west of Paris, on Tuesday, December 29th.

France’s Fine Arts Academy in a statement on Twitter confirmed Cardin’s death, noting that members of the academy are deeply saddened by the news of Pierre Cardin’s death.

The statement translated to English, reads,

“The Perpetual Secretary, Laurent Petitgirard, and the members of the Academy of Fine Arts are very sad to announce the death of their colleague Pierre Cardin. He was elected on February 12, 1992 in the chair of Pierre Dux (section of free members)”.

Cardin was born in Italy in 1922 but emigrated to France as a young child, after which he founded his own fashion house in 1950 after a stint with Christian Dior and built up a global business empire.

He was also known for bringing stylish clothes to the masses, popularizing the turtleneck sweater for men and bodysuits for women.

The management of the Deeper Life High School in Akwa Ibom state has reacted to the viral report of abuse suffered by one of it’s student, Don Davis.

The management vowed not to cover up any immoral act perpetrated in the school even as it investigates the alleged sexual abuse of Don Davis Achibong.

Deborah Okezie, mother of Don Davis has been calling on Nigerians to help her get justice for her son. She said that there is a plan to coverup the story by the authorities of the school and the state government.

However, the Education Secretary of the school, Thelma Malaka, said the alleged act of sexual abuse is currently being investigated by the state government and the police.

In her words ;

”Permit me to remind you that the office of the governor of Akwa Ibom state has taken over the investigation of the matter to ensure neutrality and a dispassionate outcome. We appreciate the concerned effort of everyone who has shown support in the investigation thus far.

We reiterate that we will be transparent and that justice will not only be served, it will be seen by all that it has been served.

Recall that we had earlier suspended the principal of the affected campus and initiated an investigation into the matter. We decided to restrain ourselves after the first update because we thought it is subjudice to comment on a matter that is currently under investigation.

However, considering the potential impact of this issue, especially on what we stand for, we are compelled to provide an early update before the final report is released by the government.

The panel has sat and we have presented staff members and students of our school who have been mentioned in this particular case all through the period of the investigation.

We have unflinching confidence in our God to resolve the issue such that at the end, the truth will ultimately prevail.

The police is also currently investigating this matter and we have been invited to share our own side of the story.

We will like to restate that Deeper Life High School stand on the core values of integrity and uprightness and will not attempt to cover up any immoral act under any guise”

A Nigerian pastor has reportedly condemned his congregation for gifting him only eight hundred thousand naira (N800,000) as send forth gift.

A Twitter user, @Pipeloluwa_ who claimed to be a member of the church revealed that the said pastor was an outgoing pastor of a popular church in Lagos, and the congregation was able to raise N800,000 for him as send forth gift.

The outgoing pastor who was not pleased at the amount of the cash gift, allegedly slammed the current pastor and church members for not raising up to N1 million naira for him.

36-year-old lecturer, Major Walter Anma Isa, was reportedly shot dead by gunmen in Benue, on Christmas Eve.

Isa, until his death was a lecturer at the College of Education Katsina-Ala and PhD student of the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

He was among five persons killed by unknown gunmen who attacked the residence of Katsina-Ala Local Government chairman, Alfred Avalumun Atera on motorbikes a day before Christmas.

Isa has been laid to rest in his hometown today, December 29th. Friends and family have since taken to social media to mourn his demise.

CAN Directs Lagos Churches To Close Cross-Over Services By 11pm

The Lagos State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN has instructed all churches in the state to endeavour to end their cross-over services by 11 pm on December 31, 2020.

The directive is contained in a statement signed by the Lagos State CAN chairman, Bishop Steven Adegbite.

It would be recalled that the Lagos State Government had ordered all worship centres in the state to suspend night services, vigils and cross-over events.

The state also announced a 12am to 4am curfew as part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Reacting to the order, CAN in its statement said, “As part of our responsibility as a law-abiding organisation and in response to the appeal made to us by the State Government, we hereby direct that all churches should ensure their services on 31st of December, 2020 end at 11:00 pm so as to allow attendees get to their respective homes and places of rest on or before 12:00 midnight when the curfew will start.”

CAN assured the government that “Christians will continue to be a strong partner in the quest to see that the spread of COVID-19 does not happen and that it becomes a thing of the past within the shortest time possible.”

Controversial Nigerian investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has finally revealed why she has never been married at age 56.

Kemi Olunloyo in a recent Instagram post revealed that she has never been married because she cant submit to a man, noting that only weak women are submissive to men.

Her post reads,

“I’ve never been married at 56yo cos I won’t submit to a man. Only weak women do that. My series #marriageisascam has opened a lot of eyes.

“Did you know most married couples don’t have sex or make time for it. Others sleep in separate rooms in the same house especially in Nigeria “mummy’s room” “daddy’s room”

“What causes this lack of sex? Is it that the woman was circumcised and doesn’t feel orgasms and fakes it? Does the husband have side chicks or frequent runs girls?”.

A fan however took to the comment section to invite the journalist to his wedding, to change her notion about marriage.

The fan wrote,

“Dr kemi, I’m getting marry next week and you’re invited, come and see how marriage in sweet likewise isn’t a scam. Special sit for you on that special day bcs I want you to learn more about marriage”.

In response the 56-year-old turned down the invite, noting that she doesn’t attend weddings or funerals.

A Nigerian lady has left social media users stunned and filled with questions after showing off her engagement ring that has an ancient idol cresting.

The lady identified as Adejumo Abiola had taken to Twitter to share the controversial photo of her engagement ring and announced that she said “Yes, I’ll marry you” to her man.

Adejumo’s post has, however, triggered mixed reactions from Netizens as she was mocked for accepting the strange ring as an engagement ring, instead of the conventional diamond ring.

Some tweeps inquired about the identity of her beau because the top of the ring is crested with a figure that resembles the Oba of Benin or Obatala.
