Tourist pictured near edge of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe falls over 350 feet to his death

A popular tourist, Roy George Tinashe Dikinya who was pictured near a cliff at one of the world’s most famous waterfalls slipped and fell over 350 feet to his death.

It was gathered that Roy was standing by the edge of Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls while taking turns with his family to take photos from the top of the huge waterfall, when he tumbled over on New Year’s Day.

Witnesses told Zimbabwe’s Newsday that the tourist who was wearing sandals slipped and fell from the cliff and they were only alerted by a woman’s scream.

The witness said,

“We were alerted by the woman’s scream and she told us that he had slipped and fallen

“Because of the showers and the mist, we could not trace him after that”.

A photo taken seconds earlier shows him walking by the cliff’s edge while wearing sandals, and holding some items in his arm.

Rescuers with the Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Authority found body parts trapped at the bottom of the gorge, which is at least 350-feet high, the Chronicle said.

The body parts “are trapped between rocks,” the authority’s spokesman, Tinashe Farawo, told the paper.

In his words,

“We haven’t been able to positively identify him because of the location where the body is trapped, but we are certain that it his body.

“Right now we are in communication with other security experts including the army to try and find ways of retrieving the body”.

Tourism and Environment minister, Mangaliso Ndlovu in a statement sent his condolences to Roy’s family.

“This is a rare, tragic and unfortunate incident to be witnessed at the mighty Victoria Falls.

“All necessary precautions will be taken to guard against recurrence of such an unfortunate incident.” He said.

Zugacoin becomes hot cake as United States Government direct Banks to accept Cryptocurrency

Africa’s first cryptocurrency, Zugacoin has risen high in demand as United States Government direct Banks to start accepting Cryptocurrency.

The U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) had issued a letter approving U.S. banks to use public blockchain networks.
The letter addressed national banks and federal savings associations participating as nodes on a blockchain and storing or validating payments made in native digital assets or stablecoins.

The OCC’s letter stands in contrast to a bill introduced in the last Congressional session that would have required stablecoin issuers to obtain bank charters. That aggressively anti-stablecoin proposal resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations sent to leading cryptocurrency advocacy group Coin Center.

Just like Zugacoin, other Cryptocurrencies rose and became high in demand.

Bitcoin gained nearly 13% already in 2021 at last check, trading hands above $34,000. Ether is trading just below $1,100, roughly 25% below its record high of $1,448, while Zugacoin traded above 48,000 Dollars, making it the highest best seller in the world.

It’s been reported that Veteran Yoruba actress Folake Aremu, who is popularly known as Orisabunmi, has died at the age of 60.

The demise of the Kwara born thespian comes no more than four months after her ex-husband Jimoh Aliu, better known as Aworo passed away.

President of the Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) Bolaji Amusan, aka Mr Latin, confirmed she died on Tuesday night. Another senior TAMPAN member Tunde Ola-Yusuff also announced the death in a Facebook post.

COVID-19: 2021 Grammy Awards postponed

Organizers of the 2021 Grammy Awards have postponed the event originally scheduled for January 31st due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19.

The Grammys had already planned on a limited show for 2021, without audience and only allowing presenters and performers on-site during the show.

Nominated artists wouldn’t have been allowed on-site either, likely leading to a situation similar to the 2020 Emmys where nominees appeared and accepted awards remotely.

The 2021 Grammy nominations were led by Beyoncé who picked up nine nominations, while Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift and Roddy Ricch followed behind with six nominations each.

Taking to their official Instagram page to announce the date shift, they wrote;

“After thoughtful conversations with health experts, our host and artists scheduled to appear, we are rescheduling the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards to be broadcast Sunday, March 14, 2021. The deteriorating COVID situation in Los Angeles, with hospital services being overwhelmed, ICUs having reached capacity, and new guidance from state and local governments have all led us to conclude that postponing our show was the right thing to do.

Nothing is more important than the health and safety of those in our music community and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly on producing the show.

We want to thank all of the talented artists, the staff, our vendors and especially this year’s nominees for their understanding, patience and willingness to work with us as we navigate these unprecedented times.”

Jealous pregnant woman poisons her 3-year-old stepson to death in Osun

The Osun State Police Command paraded a pregnant woman, Musa Mariam for allegedly poisoning the 3-year-old son of her husband’s second wife to death.

The incident occurred in the Ede area of the state on December 26 — Mariam was paraded alongside other crime suspects at the command headquarters in Osogbo by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Olokode on Tuesday, January 5.

Speaking with newsmen, the suspect said she poisoned the child with pesticide (Rocket) because her husband was showing more love and favour to the second wife as she had a male child while she (as the first wife) is yet to bear a son.

It was gathered that the child was rushed to Muslim Hospital, Ede, where he died while receiving treatment on December 31.

Exhibits recovered from the suspect include pesticide bottle with liquid content and empty rubber bottle.

FCMB MD Adam Nuru sent on leave as investigation begins

Adam Nuru, the Managing Director, MD of The First City Monument Bank Limited, FCMB has been sent on leave to enable the bank to investigate the paternity allegations against him.

This was disclosed in a statement by the bank on Tuesday.

The statement read,

“We are aware of several stories circulating across several media platforms about our bank’s Managing Director, Adam Nuru; a former employee, Mrs Moyo Thomas, and her deceased husband, Mr Tunde Thomas.

“While this is a personal matter, the tragedy of the death of Mr Tunde Thomas and the allegations of unethical conduct require the bank’s board to conduct a review of what transpired, any violations of our code of ethics and the adequacy of this code of ethics.

“This is already under way. During the period of the review, the managing director has volunteered to proceed on leave. This will guarantee the sanctity of the review process.

“We enjoin all our stakeholders to bear with us as we conduct this review and to please respect the various families involved.”

Nearly 2,000 persons had signed the petition calling on the Central Bank of Nigeria and FCMB to sack Nuru over alleged infidelity with a former employee of the bank, Moyo Thomas.

Nigerian singer Davido has been advised by a fan to make sure he marries his fiancée, Chioma in 2021.

Just recently, the singer took to his official Twitter twitter handle to share a post online.

Sharing an image, Davido captioned the post writing:

However, a follower with the handle @DanielRegha while reacting to the tweet wrote:

Nollywood actress, Beverly Osu has shared her house help’s experience after she ate the “herbs-laced” cookies she kept in her fridge.

Taking to social media Beverly revealed that she had kept the “herbs-laced” cookies in her fridge, and the help who thought the snack was a regular cookies consumed it.

She noted that moments after eating the cookies it started having funny effect on the house-help and Beverly took to her Instagram story to share her experience.

She wrote,

“Just got a phone call. I can’t even laugh. My house help ate one of the cookies in my fridge…You know the type with herbs…now homegirl is hot and cold …She says she is vibrating …Kia Beverly no go lee pesin mama… 2021 hasn’t even started yet.”

TV host, Morayo Brown took to Instagram to react after comedian Woli Arole said sex before marriage is a sin even if an intending couple uses a condom.

In a post shared via Twitter, Arole wrote,

“Sex before MARRIAGE is a SIN, even if you use CONDOMN it’s still a SIN. God has told us to repent of every form of unrighteousness. Start the year with a fresh relationship with Jehovah!!!!.”

Reacting to Arole’s Tweet, Morayo Brown stated that although she and her husband got married before having sex, it’s not right to judge people who choose to have sex before marriage.

She wrote,

“I agree with Arole about fornication. I did not have sex with my husband before we got married. We made a decision to wait but that does not make us better than those who didn’t. Many waited and still have horrible marriages.”

We lie daily yet God forgives us. Let’s not use ‘having sex before marriage’ as the reference for judging people.

If two adults decide to have sex before marriage, it’s completely their choice and a conversation they have with their maker. Lets stop judging that situation.
