Reno Omokri challenges Chief of Army Staff, General Buratai to a man to man fight

Popular Nigerian author and lawyer, Reno Omkri has revealed that his greatest wish for the month of November is to engage in a man to man combat with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai.

The former presidential aide shared his desire on Twitter as he challenged Buratai to a man to man combat.

He tweeted,

“My greatest desire in November is to be in a room with General Buratai. No weapons. No referee. Man to man combat. Only one man coming out alive. Let God use me to avenge the cowardly slaughter of peaceful, unarmed, #EndSARS protesters at #LekkiMassacre by that spineless coward!”

“If your husband’s life does not appreciate after marriage, you’re a witch” – Pastor Funke Adejumo

Pastor Funke Felix-Adejumo of Agape Christian Ministries has labelled women, who fails to add value to their husband’s life after marriage as witches.

funke adejumo husbands

While addressing her congregation during a sermon, she stated that women are meant to add value to their matrimonial homes and not be a liability to their spouses.

According to her, women should contribute towards paying bills, regardless of how little the amount is, in a bid to support the home.

In her own words:

“You cannot afford to be a nonentity, looking unto your husband before you buy bra. These are the things that remove dignity from a woman. The man helped you to bury your grandmother’s father’s son,”

“He helped to do a wedding for your cousin’s father’s friend’s brother. Everything, one day he’s going to be tired. Do not allow your husband alone to pay the school fees. Contribute no matter how small.

“Do something with your life as a woman. You were created to add value. I add value to my marriage. My husband looked at me and said, ‘I want to be married to you eternally’. Stop being a beggarly wife.

Don’t be a drag or liability. If your husband’s life doesn’t appreciate after marriage, you’re a witch. Some of you are just sitting down, pumping out children, and doing nothing. No man wants a liability in his life.

“The number of children you have is the number of properties you should have so they won’t curse your memory.

“We’re binding the devil but there are things we need to tell ourselves as women. Stand up and take your place!”.

“It was a huge disgrace that my marriage failed; But God in heaven knows I did my best” – Muma Gee

Muma Gee sat down with The Sun and spoke about her failed marriage to actor and the father of her three children, Prince Eke.

Recall the singer and her former husband tied the knot in 2011, but then parted ways in 2016 after allegations of infidelity propelled.

In the interview, Muma opened up on how her marriage failed hinting that Eke woke up one morning and walked out of their marriage.

According to her, it was a big disgrace that her marriage failed but insisted that she tried her best.

While responding to a question on how she took time off from the music scene to get married, the singer said

“Yeah, I did actually, but I am a deep person and as such, I have a deep understanding of my responsibility as a woman. I believe that one of the duties I have to fulfill here on earth is motherhood, and that includes getting married and building a family with a partner. In fact, where I come from, we do not believe in divorce or separation. Coupled with my Christian background, it was a huge disgrace that my marriage failed; but God in heaven knows I did my best and the fault wasn’t from me.

If you have two partners and one wasn’t ready to settle down; and per adventure, you get involved and are willing to sacrifice everything to make sure the family works, but this partner just picks his bag and says, ‘I am done with this stage of my life, I am going kids or no kids!’ I was so shocked I called it the 8th wonder of the world.

I never dreamed or imagined a situation where I, who has been so committed, was being treated so shabbily. And the most devastating part of it was to have built a career for years which I put on hold just to kick-start something, and this person wakes up one day and says look ‘I can’t go on with this’. Then I got the shocker of my life when I read in the news that I was frolicking with different men. That was the ultimate bullshit! Tony, you are an attractive man, and you knew me when I was younger, and per adventure you could have made a pass at me if I was such a person or I could have made a pass at you. I have always been a reserved person. I may look crazy and wild on the outside, but for a man to come up with such lies is outrageous!

I have never drunk alcohol nor prostituted since I was born, and even as a single woman, I never messed around with men. I have always been a focused person, and then suddenly someone is saying all these lies against me? It was a campaign of calumny. He did not just say that, he went online and posted it just to dent the image I had built over the years. It was crazy! But trust me, as a woman who understands how God functions and the spiritual gifts God has bestowed upon me, I have the understanding that whatever happens to me is not by accident, and trust me, I have no regrets whatsoever. Why? I have these three lovely children. When you see them, you will know that the grace of God is truly upon my life. I give God the glory and I maintain a cordial relationship with their dad. When you see my ex and I (hanging) out for dinner or something, you would think he is my boyfriend. However, I have closed that chapter of being that close to him. No, we can never be (that close) again.”

When asked if she will give marriage another chance, she said.

People say ‘never say never’ but the black dungeon that that ex put me through made me go blank for men. For years, I lost it for men. It is difficult even though I am trying to revive myself; but you know what I say always, the grace of God is upon my life and I am learning again to see how I can give love a chance and how I can forgive men again. One guy made me hate men, and trust me, because of my spiritual belief and because I am on a spiritual mission on earth, God will always direct my steps; and if He says I should remarry, I will remarry. If He says I am not going to remarry, I am cool with that. Marriage for me was bondage; it is supposed to be a thing of joy, but I saw hell!

In fact, as a tourist, the worst place I have ever been to was the London Dungeon. My marriage experience was worse than the London Dungeon, so just imagine me going back there. I am working on myself. I wish that I had a psychologist to work with. I see my kids growing everyday and they teach me a lot; and I am like a child again growing with them especially when I help with their homework. It is fun to me. We go swimming together. My only regret is that just one man made me hate the male folk.

I am sorry to say that, but by the grace of God, I shall overcome and flourish and maybe, fall in love again and experience happy married life. I look forward to that because my dream about marriage had been to grow old with my spouse. And if God says yes, He will make that man available. But meanwhile, going back there will be like drilling a six-inch nail through my head.” she said

The singer also revealed she is a victim of Female Genital mutilation and gave an account of how it grossly affected her sex life.

“I am a victim of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and it has had emotional and psychological effects on me. I spoke to BBC about it and they asked if I was willing to speak as a celebrity about being circumcised and I am like why not? I have been keeping quiet about it based on ignorance. I must confess that, until I grew into a girl, I never knew that it had a big implication; but I just knew I grew up not chasing men. And no matter how ‘beautiful’ a man is, you can’t seduce me. Never! Unless I choose to get laid, no man can get me laid, even if it is rape! If you like, be Goliath, you won’t succeed!

I remember growing up and my friends shared their feelings like, ‘I wish my boyfriend is around and he could just feel me’. I don’t feel that bullshit around me, and in my imagination I am like ‘are these girls okay?’ I did not know that these were natural things women experience, but was not happening to me. Now, the question would be ‘was I not having boyfriends before I got married and when I got married, how did I survive it?’ That is why I said that unless I am moved by a man’s affection for me, there is no way he could get me in bed. That feeling of being loved must radiate in me before I submit to a man.

Asides that, I am not crazy about ‘man matter’ and I am not a lesbian either; I am a Christian and my upbringing will not allow that, but circumcision took its toll on me. Ironically, at first, it was working for me as a young girl because I wasn’t messing around. The only messing around I did was being too passionate about music. Back in secondary school, I was always involved in music and when I got back home, there were shows and I always wanted to showcase my talent, and my family felt I was going out to sleep with men. I don’t give a hoot about men. In fact, I don’t feel sexual urge. It is so difficult for me and I consider it a waste of time.

Before I got married, I knew the duty of a woman was to satisfy her husband sexually and otherwise, so there was need to do that and have kids. In my culture, a woman cannot be barren; it is your duty to have kids. It took like three years after my marriage for me to have a baby. Those three years were spent on getting acquainted to the new system I was going into because I was not used to it. I won’t say I was a virgin at the time.

By the time I got married and my marriage went sour, I chose to be celibate. Men just don’t matter to me when it comes to sex because I am circumcised. It may be negative in some way, but in some other way it has helped my life. So, I am a victim of what the girl child goes through because female genital mutilation is painful. Though, the practice is dying out, it is still being secretly practiced. These and more are the issues the Muma Gee Foundation will tackle.” she said

FG will regulate social media, not shut it down – Lai Mohammed

Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has reiterated that the federal government will only regulate social media and not shut it down.

The Minister said this during a solidarity visit to Vintage Press Limited, the publishers of The Nation newspapers and Sporting Life, following the October 21, 2020 attack on the organization’s corporate headquarters by hoodlums who hijacked the #ENDSARS protests.

In his words ;

“I know some observers may wonder how the minister can describe the attack on The Nation as attack on free press and on democracy, whereas a few days ago, he canvassed for regulation of social media.

“I say to such observers that there is no contradiction in what I said before and what I am saying now. This government has respect for the free press. What we are against is irresponsible use of social media and fake news.

“We did not start this campaign against fake news yesterday. In 2017, we devoted an entire National Council on Information meeting to address the issues of fake news and hate speech.

“I remember I said that day that there is a new epidemic coming to consume the world. That epidemic is fake news. That epidemic will pose great danger to global peace and security.

“In 2018, we followed it up by launching a national campaign against fake news and hate speech. These were because we knew the danger there. We did not, at any time, say we would kill the internet.

“We did not say social media must be closed down, never! Social media is here to stay and it would be antithesis to democracy if one makes an attempt to shut down the social media.

“However, we must regulate social media in a manner that it does not become a purveyor of fake news and hate speech.

“Today, the pattern of choice for purveyors of fake news and hate speech is social media. It travels so fast; it disseminates so fast.

“This is why it is important for any country to look at that platform and ensure it is regulated in a manner that does not bring harm not just to the users but to everybody. No country will fold its hands and watch purveyors of fake news and hate speech destabilise it.

“And it is as if the world is not learning. In 1994, 800,000 lives were lost in Rwanda as a result of hate speech. One radio station in particular was largely responsible for this. The same thing happened in Cambodia, etc.

“So, when we talk about regulating social media, we are simply saying regulate it so as to ensure responsible use of the social media.

“We do not want to be misunderstood. We are also asking for freedom of the press because no democracy can survive without freedom of the press.

“We have tried to reach out to all the major stakeholders, including Google, Facebook, NUJ, Guild of Editors, bloggers, social media influencers, etc; let’s sit down together and fashion out a policy that will make our social media platforms responsible.

“Even the owners of these platforms are talking about regulation now.

Update : 18-year-old student who was reportedly kidnapped allegedly faked it (Details)

Last week, the story of the alleged kidnap of a teenage girl went viral on social media as well-meaning Nigerians used their handles to amplify the search for the young student of AAU.

According to the reports on social media, the girl identified as Oyiza was kidnapped on her way to Kogi State and her abductors demanded the sum of 100 Million Naira for her release.

The good news is that she’s been found but new reports and investigation suggest she faked her own kidnap.

Adebayo Oyiza, shortly after resurfacing on social media, took to Facebook to share ;

I can’t write essay
I no fit
Till further notice
I’m very unwell
Cruise ?
So did I come online to post I was kidnapped or I called one person to please reach out and help me that I got kidnapped
I had an health issue and I was going to fix and I got napped’ on the road, if you stay in Okene or know anyone there, stroll go parks or police station and ask them what happened

However, her story didn’t add up as facebook users caught the ‘lie’ and took to the comment section to lampoon her.

A popular facebook influncer known as Boda Giggle shared on his page ;

Few days ago.
I received multiple tags, friend requests and messages about a particular Adebayo Oyiza, whom they claimed was kidnapped by Fulani herdsmen.
They wanted me to use my “Influencing” abilities, according to them.
The whole story didn’t add up to me, but I didn’t want to be insensitive on top kidnap case, so I just kept my cool.
I didn’t want to to bring a non-authentic news to my timeline, so y’all don’t doubt my credibility next time.
According to news.
Kidnappers demanded for 100 million ransom even when she was nothing close to being a rich parents child.
So, I stayed up all night trying to get to the root of the matter.
My mother and sisters can testify to the fact.
My Mom began to ask when I became a detective that was on a kidnap case. ?
I demanded to talk to her Mom, so I’d get the correct news.
But, I got referred to someone who they claimed to be her brother.
[Check comment section for screenshots. The chats with her so-called brother also didn’t add up, at all.]
I even called her so-called Dad, asked few questions and when the questions were getting heated based on sey I be Detective Gigz.
He asked me why I was questioning his integrity. ?
My instincts just told me something was off.
A lot of people lashed me in the DM for not posting to help her.
They said why would I be stupid enough not to believe a story Yabaleft carried and even trended on Twitter.
I’ve been in this game for long.
Influencers and bloggers want what would give them “clicks” and “shares”, so they take any story that can do that, regardless of it’s authenticity.
I reached out to few people too, who also saw a lot of flaws in the kidnap story.
Good news.
I came online to hear she was released yesterday without collecting any ransom.
I was so happy. Thanked God.
And the first thing the girl posted was “Wagwan.” coupled with smiling emojis.
For someone traumatized, I was shocked but I still kept my cool.
A lot of people got irritated with that particular post and asked that she came to narrate whatever happened.
Girl while narrating her staged story said she trekked inside the bush from Lokoja to Edo before she found her way home.
As my curiosity would demand, I went to Google to find the distance between Lokoja to Edo by foot and fam, it was a whole 39 hours!
But, someone trekked it in less than 4 hours.
Y’all never told me we had Flash in Nigeria, and I’m vexed. ?
Complicating herself the more, Girl even still said she was released in the night, when she actually made her Wagwan post by 4 PM.
I don’t know why y’all do things for clout on this app.
To think she made people cry.
To think people prayed for her.
To think people panicked.
To think she made people send money, and it was all CLOUT.
What’s hard in being real?
What’s hard in saying you need help than staging a kidnap?
If I hear about any kidnap now.
Na to dey doubt first, or think sey na cruise.
This app sef.
Phew! I’m done with y’all on this app!!!
All of us be cruise.
Edit: I finally posted the screenshot of the chats.

Dirty, broke and stinking guys turn me off —Actress Sandra Alhassan

Fast rising yoruba actress, Sandra Alhassan has revealed the requirement a man before they can date.

In a chat with Potpourri, a man who is neat, cute, responsible with fine pocket will always catch her attention and for the men of opposite fortunes, will never near her.

Her words below ;

“I can’t stand a dirty, stinking, broke guys. What turns me off again in a man is immaturity. Although love is where you find it but I have a certain taste about my kind of man. When it comes to marriage it’s a different ballgame altogether. We see different kinds of problems today in the name of marriage; some end up killing themselves.
.
.
My advice to ladies or even guys is not to jump into marriage just because they have to be married. Study your partner very well or even live together as couples before going into the real thing. Marriage is a lifetime deal that needs patience and God’s guidance.”
