Earlier today, Nigerian social media users were puzzled over what could have triggered music sensation, Rema venting on micro-blogging app, Twitter.
The singer was among other music artistes who performed live at the BBNaija: Lockdown grand finale show and a lot of people speculated that something may have occurred backstage between himself and other prominent acts which caused him to vent online.
A particular user tweeted what he’ll now later say is a joke that DMW boss, Davido assaulted the youngster during the live show which is what prompted him to vent… saying things like,
Niggas don’t wanna see a kid win, they feel I got it too easy. I shower with my sweat, we go off on this side like the days in BENIN it got nun to do with my deal, come and sign these papers without a hustler spirit, you gone lose! Management gone change my password now lol
Well, the user later claimed that his tweet was a joke and a lie. He wrote,
Guys, this tweet about Davido slapping Rema was just a joke and a lie. Thank you
Davido then quoted his tweet saying what he did was unfair cause people actually believed him. The singer wrote,
Actually not fair bro … cus pple actually believed u … we humans too my guy

Sometime in the year 2017, we published the report of a 17-year-old lad, Divine Ikubor gifting his mother a brand new Lexus SUV car. See here
At the time, we dubbed the kid “an upcoming musician” who made a gesture that most people are still aspiring to make. Divine would later be signed to MAVINs records by Don Jazzy and D’Prince and become popular with the stage name, Rema.
Earlier today, Rema took to micro-blogging platform, Twitter to vent in a series of tweets that had him pour his heart out — What may have triggered his action is still quite foggy although, rumour has it that some sort of dispute might have occurred backstage at the Big Brother Naija live eviction show.
In one of his tweets as he was venting, Rema revealed that he was a millionaire way before the fame. According to talented music artiste, even before he performed his first show, his account was already reading in 6 zeros.
To affirm his claim, we recall that it was the singer who gifted his mother a brand new car in 2017 and as at that time, he was yet to be signed to MAVINs records.
Here’s a video of a young Rema gifting his mother a new whip,
A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered Senator Elisha Abbo to pay the sum of N50 million to the nursing mother, identified as Osimibibra Warmate, he assaulted in a sex toy store.
The video of the incident went viral in May 2019 and instantly sparked public outrage. The youngest senator in Nigeria was caught on camera slapping Osimibibra inside the store.
Weeks after the incident, Elisha Abbo apologized for his act at a media briefing in Abuja. He claimed he had never been known or associated with assault in the past, blamed it all on anger which he said he was sincerely sorry for.
Elisha Abbo broke down in tears as he pleaded that all Nigerian men and women should forgive him, and added that the backlash he has faced so far has taught him a lesson as a private citizen and a public officer.
Inspite of the video recording evidence and public apology, a court dismissed the charges against Abbo in July 2020, which caused more outrage. The presiding judge ruled that the evidence and exhibits tendered to the court did not prove the criminal charges against the lawmaker.
However, more than a year after the assault occurred, a Federal High Court in Abuja found him liable for the assault and has ordered him to pay N50M as compensation to Osimibibra Warmat.
Remember that video of a Nigerian Senator slapping/assaulting a young lady at a shop? Well justice was served today with the Court slamming the sum of N50M against the Senator. I am delighted to have represented that young lady in this suit. We say no more to oppression! https://t.co/zM9zQlEcH7
Mavin boss, Don Jazzy has urged social media users to pay attention to singer, Rema’s tweet as he’s trying to pass a message across.
Don Jazzy stated this when Twitter users asked him to stop Rema from venting on the micro blogging platform.
He wrote, “Why? He’s passing a message read on”.
The young Nigerian singer, Rema took to Twitter in the early hours of Monday to vent and make shocking revelations on the platform.
Rema.
In a tweet Rema revealed that he stole his friends laptop in 2017.
He wrote,
“Eric, Sorry I stole your Laptop in 2017, I know you were trying to help me. My Mom had a child on the way, I was the only man in my family. They made fun of her because she got pregnant, I wanted to prove them wrong bro, I had to do it”.
In another tweet, the Dumebi crooner revealed why he performed with a mask on at his first show.
In his words,
“My first show was 6 zeros, the second month of my arrival into the game, ask the INDUSTRY. I performed with a mask on, because I came into the game with an unannounced EP like the thief in the NIGHT. Bet some of y’all niggas thought it was for fashion.”
In another tweet the rapper vent about people tagging his music rubbish because he infused Edo language.
He wrote,
“Niggas label my music rubbish because I infuse my Edo language. Because I didn’t follow the usual guidelines to music, because I hacked Afrobeats with God given melodies, they called it ‘Indian’ because they DO NOT UNDERSTAND ME. I’m not of this world, know this now!”.
He also took to the platform to warn people who love him because of what they stand to gain.
“When my late brother did house parties y’all came, when he died only 2 friends stood beside his death bed. That’s why I’m not comfortable around people, they love me because I have something to offer, You know yourselves don’t let me catch you!!!” He tweeted.

However, the star artiste took it upon himself to welcome viewers of the show back to reality, reminding them of the responsibilities and accruing bills. He also told them to remember that PMB is still the president.
During the course of the show, the Federal government deregulated the oil sector, which inherently led to an increase in fuel pump price. Electricity tariff was also increased which led to a decision by the NLC to embark on a nationwide strike which has now been suspended.

Nigerian actor and film producer, Kunle Afolayan has tendered an apology to Mike Ezuruonye after he was accused of being tribal.
The ace actor stated that his colleague, Mike misinterpreted his post. Recall that, Nollywood actor, Mike recently took to his social media page to berate popular filmmaker, Kunle for sharing screenshot of a DM he got in which he (Mike) was tagged a fraudster.
In the screenshot Kunle Afolayan shared, Mike Ezuruonye was accused of scamming women.
The actor further accused Kunle Afolayan of hating Igbos and also recounted how the filmmaker said years ago that “Igbos are the ones spoiling the movie industry and he doesn’t like casting them.”
In reaction to the allegations, Kunle has now come out to state that his intent for the post was misinterpreted, adding that he has apologized to Mike and anybody that found his initial post offensive.
In his words,
“While I did not see my innocent reaction to an indicting post by a random IG follower as capable of further hurting my friend and colleague, Mike Ezuruonye, to be labelled a tribalist in retaliation is very unfortunate. Honestly, I was misunderstood.
“My reaction, which was rather spontaneous, was to chide the IG follower who appeared to be reporting the actor to me. And I merely asked (in Yoruba) how all of that was my business. It was like saying ‘when did I become an officer of the law’. Obviously, my colleague took the context of my post wrongly, and angrily accused me of tribalism.
“I do not know what gave birth to such misrepresentation. However, while I am famous for living and promoting everything that my tradition stands for as a Yoruba man, I have maintained a mutual friendship with people of other extractions, Igbos especially. It is therefore not in the interest of both of us (Mike Ezuruonye and I) to politicise our emotion with tribal colouration. For me, this is undeserving of our other friends, and goes to offend the sensibility of genuine relationships we have each cultivated with people of other tribes.
“The ideals are reflected in the themes and plots of my movies, some of which include; The Figurine, The Bridge, Phone Swap, Omugwo, and Roti.
“I have told Mike ‘I’m sorry’ since he found my post offensive. I am also apologising to anyone who also may have seen things from his point of view. Ire o”. He added.
