Nigerian e-commerce store, Payporte has signed Cynthia Nwadiora popularly known as Cee-c as a brand ambassador.

The reality TV star, Cee-c took to her Instagram account to make this announcement and share pictures with the owner of the brand, Eyo Bassey. She wrote,

The thespian took to her Instagram page to share a photo of herself showing her waistline. And captioned the picture, “Happy blessed new week fam. May we be favored ? #LD.

In other news, a 21-year-old lady identified as Blessing Levi, was arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Choba Community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, on a three-count charge.

The charge included; indecent dressing in a public place and taking the photograph of a police officer.

Blessing was alleged to have sometime in May 2020 taken a photograph of a police sergeant without his consent and as well dressed indecently with intent to cause disorderliness among members of the public.

She pleaded not guilty of the charges and was granted bail by Chief Magistrate Israel Agbaesor to the tune of N100,000 with a surety in like sum, who must deposit two passport photographs and must be resident in the same Jurisdiction.

Chief Magistrate Agbaesor ordered that the accused be remanded in police custody pending the fulfillment of her bail conditions.

Fire on Wednesday engulfed the Access Bank branch on Adetokunbo Ademola Street, in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State.

The fire started from a diesel-laden truck and a car on the bank’s premises.

The PUNCH gathered the diesel-laden truck was offloading diesel for the generators of the bank when it caught fire in the process.

While the diesel truck and the car had been completely razed by the fire, emergency responders salvaged the situation by preventing the fire from escalating.

Confirming the incident, the General Manager, LASEMA, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said, “On arrival at the incident scene, it was observed that a fully loaded 33,000 litres diesel tanker with number plate AKD 637 XP and a car stationed beside it with number plate AKD 234 FA were completely ravaged by the fire.

A Nigerian Twitter user identified as Chineme Kalu has taken to the platform to reveal that men who date financially stable women are blessed.

Chineme stated that dating a financially stable woman is a blessing to any man, because she would always make decisions from her heart, not because she wants money in return.

He emphasized on the fact that when a financially stable woman professes love for a man, she means it, because she isn’t looking for any benefit.

He tweeted;

“Dating a financially stable woman is a blessing, when she says “I love you”, you know it comes from the heart not because of empty stomach”.

Meanwhile a Nigerian lady, Eniola, recently took to her Twitter page to give her reason why she won’t be dating a broke man again.

According to Eniola, she once dated a jobless guy who she was helping, but he ghosted her the moment he got a good job. She revealed that he lost the job 6 months after and tried to come back to her, but she ignored him.

She wrote,

One of the first set of housemates to be evicted from the Big Brother Naija: Lockdown house, Lilo Aderogba, seems to have taken a swipe at her love interest while she was in the house, Eric.

While joining in the current social media trend “Know your history” —where people share old photos of people and claim they were the ones who first started things that’s become prominent presently— Lilo made a photo of herself in black and white, saying she’s the first lady to choose a man over money.

Her tweet has since gone viral on social media and while a lot of people are certain that she’s taking a swipe at her love interest, Eric, others are impressed with her level of sarcasm and the hilarity of her tweet.

She captioned the photo “We Move” … In the photo, she writes “Meet Boluwatife Lilo Aderogba, the first lady to pick a man over money in 1930”.

Before her exit from the Big Brother house, Lilo and Eric were quite an inseparable pair and were the technically the first couple of the fifth edition of the reality TV show… their relationship was however cut short following Lilo’s eviction and that of Eric’s a week after.

While Eric was certain they’d continue sailing their ship after the house… Lilo wasn’t and so far, there’s not necessarily been much going on with them… that we’ve seen tho.

Big Brother Naija housemate, Neo has narrated how he ended up being a houseboy for a girl who gave him greenlight.

Neo disclosed this while discussing with his fellow housemates about what he ended up doing after visiting a babe.

While sharing the story with Laycon, he said he once went to visit a girl that has always given him some green light. He got to the lady’s house around 11pm, spent the night and slept off without taking a closer look at the room.

The next morning the lady left him alone in the house for her gym session. He woke up and realized how dirty the room was. He said he couldn’t stand how dirty the toilet looked. Neo said at that point he bacame a houseboy because he planned to spend the weekend.

Laycon then asked him why he couldn’t leave since he didn’t find the atmosphere comfortable. However, Neo replied that he was used to cleaning up every Saturday morning. According to him, being a houseboy his hobby, especially on Saturdays.

Neo continued his narration saying, he started the cleaning from the lady’s toilet. He said he mopped the room and washed the lady’s ‘white turned brown’ bedsheet back to it original colour.

Neo’s fellow housemates couldn’t hide their feelings on how Neo stooped so low to do all of that for a lady he only went to catch fun with. Laycon added that Neo will really work as a houseboy if he ends up with Vee.

Neo however didn’t feel ashamed about his actions as he told his fellow housemates that he cooked for the lady before she came back to the house. Housemates called him names such as houseboy Neo. They also said Neo go wipe oo.

Nigerian Filmmaker, Akinbosola Ogunsanya has revealed that men inviting women they just met to their house is one of the reasons why they are still single and undateable.

The young man, who prides himself as a relationship expert, took to his instagram account to share reasons why some men are single, lonely and undateable.

He said women are turned off by men asking them to come over, and advised men to change to a more romantic approach. According to him, men should ask their love interest out on a proper date, take her to a fancy restaurant and chat over a bottle of wine.

Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh has declared that the best decision she has ever made is going back to school.

The actress recently shared beautiful pictures on her Instagram page, showing her in what appears to be a school hall, explaining that she had leaned towards education to attain new levels.

In the post, the mother of one urged her fans and followers to never stop educating themselves.

She gave a detailed explanation of her decision as she captioned the pictures,

“Back to school, best decision I ever made. Leadership flows to the one who knows, never stop educating yourself.

“New levels require new information… KING TONTO [Director Socials and empowerment at committee of youths on Mobilisation and sensitization(Cyms), Office of the presidency]”. She added.

Last month, the movie star had opened up on her plans to go into politics in 2023, noting she was already watching the grounds for the senate.

“I know that I’m going to be a senator. I think the position is going to climb up. Being a governor, I do not know. But I don’t see anything past me. Anything I put my mind to.

“I can do it. I’m in the process; I’ve started. I’ve been watching the grounds. I’m not going to be identifying with any political party at the moment until 2023. I got so detached from Nollywood.

“I won’t say I’ve grown bigger than Nollywood. My dreams have rather grown bigger than Nollywood. I’ve rejected movie roles and I still do. I’m one artiste who didn’t like to be stereotyped.

NDLEA intercepts 607 cartons with over 11m tramadol tablets

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted 607 cartons containing 11,785,800 tramadol tablets in Lagos.

NDLEA’s spokesperson, Mr Jonah Achema confirmed this on Wednesday August 26, and also disclosed that the Chairman of the agency, Muhammad Abdallah said the interception and investigation were with the assistance and cooperation of the Customs Area Command, Apapa.

Abdallah said;

‘This was discovered in another container number TCNU 9465832 belonging to the same suspect transferred to NDLEA by the Police.

‘This is making it 3 containers used to carefully conceal illegally imported tramadol and other medicines to Nigeria.’

NDLEA’s chairman also noted that the recent discovery of more tramadol using the same route from Pakistan Asia – Hamburg, Europe – Nigeria showed the dynamic system of operation by the drug cartel to beat security operatives.

President Muhammadu Buhari who has been president of Nigeria since 2015 says he has fulfilled his pledge to rid Nigeria of the indigenous wild poliovirus.

On Tuesday, the World Health Organisation declared Nigeria and the rest of Africa polio-free via an online event across the continent and beyond.

Speaking at the event, Buhari said he promised Nigerians that he would not hand over a Nigeria with polio to his successor, and has fulfilled that promise.

“This is indeed a truly historic event. I recall shortly after assuming office in 2015, I made a pledge to Nigerians that I would not bequeath a polio-endemic country to my successor,” Buhari said

“This certification is, therefore, a personal fulfillment of that pledge, not only to Nigerians but to all Africans.”

Buhari congratulated the entire continent and the African Union leadership for crossing the finish line.

“At a time when the global community is battling with the COVID-19 pandemic, this achievement strengthens my conviction that the requisite political will, investments, and strategies, as well as citizens’ commitment, will flatten the pandemic curve.

“I can affirm the commitment of all African leaders in this course of action. We must guard this achievement jealously and ensure that we take all necessary steps to prevent the resurgence of this deadly disease”.

The president appreciated the strong partnership and collaboration displayed to deliver this success.

He promised the global community that Nigeria will “sustian the momentum and leverage on the lessons learnt from the polio eradication to strengthen our health systems, especially primary healthcare and prioritise health security”.

Present at the event were a longlist of WHO officials; Robert Redfield, director, United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Rose Leke, chairperson, Africa Regional Certification Commission; Seth Berkley, CEO, GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance; and some polio survivors.

The Grammy award winner initially responded with, “Didn’t she used to sell that Wap?” WAP means Wet A** Pu**y.

An hour later, Cardi B made a stronger comeback by posting a naked picture of Melania from her modelling days and wrote a sarcastic comment “This pic giving me “yea you fuckin wit some wet a** pu**y” vibes …just sayin??‍”

Governor rewards Nigerian woman with N1million cash, for returning N13.94million mistakenly paid into her account

Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has rewarded Mrs Josephine Chukwujama-Eze, with N1million cash for returning N13.94 million that was mistakenly paid into her account.

The cash reward was announced by the State Commissioner for Gender Affairs and Social Development, Peace Nnaji, after a closed-door meeting with the woman in her office.

Mrs. Chukwujama-Eze is a teacher with a mission school in Enugu, and married to Chukwujama Eze, an indigene of Enugu Ezike, in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Nnaji presented the cash to Mrs. Chukwujama-Eze, on behalf of the governor.

The Commissioner for Gender Affairs and Social Development commended her for being a good ambassador of Enugu State, stressing that, “this is the kind of culture we are inculcating in all our women, men, young boys and girls”.

She maintained that the woman’s action has earned the women of Enugu State much respect, calling on the public to emulate her honesty.

“What we are witnessing today is heartwarming and thought provoking. It is something memorable and substantial. This is a woman, Mrs. Josephine Chukwujama-Eze, who to the greatest chagrin of so many people had the sum of N13,946,400.00, mistakenly credited to her bank account. And immediately she saw it, she quickly alerted her husband and they went to the bank and returned the money to the rightful owner.

“We all know that times are hard these days, especially with the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic. It is not that she is very comfortable; she is a teacher in a mission school and look at what she has done. This is a real character and Enugu State Government wants to appreciate her for what she has done. His Excellency, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has directed that she should be rewarded with the sum of one million naira,” Ms Nnaji said”. She added

Responding, Mrs. Chukwujama-Eze, who was overwhelmed with joy, thanked Gov. Ugwuanyi for the reward, saying: “I so much appreciate this”.

According to her, “I was just being my normal self. I never knew that what I was doing will get to this extent. I did what I feel I should do. I did this just to clear my conscience. Thank you, the Honourable Commissioner for Gender Affairs. Please extend my greatest thanks to His Excellency, our dear Governor”.

Also in his appreciation, the woman’s husband, Mr Eze, ascribed his wife’s display of honesty to family upbringing and the cultural value of Enugu State and the entire Igbos, pointing out that “it is a demonstration that in Nigeria, there are a lot of good people out there”.

In his words,

Tragic! Kerosene Explosion Kills Four Family Members In Calabar

Four members of a family have perished in a kerosene explosion in their home in Ikot Ekpo community, Calabar, Cross River State on Monday, August 24.

The deceased are the father, Esuabana Thomas aged 45, two children identified as Esua Thomas (14) and Edet Thomas (12), and an in-law identified as Mathias.

According to report by PunchNG, the kerosene was being poured in a lantern by one of the children when it exploded, leading to a fire outbreak. It is suspected that the kerosene may have been adulterated.

In a statement by the Landlord of the house, he said that 3 people died in the fire, while the fourth person died on the way to the hospital. The mother and daughter fortunately escaped the fire.

He’s quoted as saying,

“I got a call around 10pm that there was a fire incident in my house, so I rushed down there. By the time I got there, the neighbours had succeeded in putting out the fire. But they did not know that people had been burnt inside because it seemed there were no screams.

“It was after the fire was extinguished that we discovered three persons inside who were already dead. Another victim, who was also fatally burnt, was rushed to hospital, but he gave up the ghost on the way and his dead body was brought back. The only survivor among the children is the daughter. I met her in a church close to my compound, very frightened.

“She told me that the mum asked the elder brother to refuel the lantern, but the boy refused and went inside. After some minutes, the mum decided to send her to refuel the lantern; as soon as she poured the kerosene into the already lit but dim lantern, there was an explosion. She said she threw the lantern away and ran out. She said the mother was outside to urinate when the explosion occurred.”

The incident has been confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo, and he added that investigation is currently ongoing.

Men of Zone 2, Police Command, Lagos State have arrested a 40-year old man, from Ondo State, Tope Oladiran, who has been responsible for some robberies in Ikorodu axis for a while.

According to reports, the suspect , who has no fixed address goes about snatching residents’ phones and laptop in the area.

Police Public Relations Officer, for Zone 2 Command, Onikan, DSP Hauwa Idris Adamu, said Tope’s last operation was when he preyed on a woman at Ori-Okuta, Agric, Ikorodu, on March 29, 2020.

He said

“He was unable to rob the woman of her mobile phone before she went into her compound but he somehow got to know that the woman lived alone with her two children.

He waited till later in the night , when he scaled the fence and entered the woman’s house through the kitchen. He hit the victim who pleaded for her life and that of her children and offered her gadgets for him to leave them alone .

He threatened to wipe out the family if they raised an alarm . He proceeded to the kitchen to prepare a sumptuous meal , ate to his satisfaction and ordered the victim to prepare for romp.

The victim who preferred death than to be abused in front of her children , ran and jumped down from her one-storey apartment and called for help. Fortunately , the alarm attracted the neighbors and they were able to apprehend Tope.”

A Ghanaian lady has advised guys in relationships to save up daily for their girlfriends birthday, as birthdays are special and only celebrated once every year.

However her advise has sparked up controversy on social media after telling men that they must save at least N1,000 daily ahead of their girlfriend’s birthday.

According to her,birthdays are special yearly celebration for everyone, therefore, all men should save GHC 15 (which is N1,000) a day for the birthdays of the lady they are dating.

The Twitter user ,@CuntessLady stated that the men should use that money gathered to surprise their girlfriends on their birthday.

She tweeted,

“When you are dating a girl, you have to save for her birthday. So lemme help you guys, If you save 15gh a day in a box from now till her birthday you would have money to spoil her well but if her birthday is near then yawa if not start today. You are good to go”.

Recall, that Praise became the 6th housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother Naija “Lockdown” house.

Praise was among the bottom four in the voting results and thus his fate was left in the hands of his fellow housemates.

Apparently, the housemates failed to save him and he was announced as the next housemate to leave Biggie’s house.

It is now illegal for Zimbabwe schools to expel pregnant girls

Zimbabwe has made it illegal for schools in the country to expel students who get pregnant. Women’s Right Activists has hailed the decision as a measure that will tackle inequality in the classroom and discourage girls from dropping out of school.

A legal amendment announced last week seeks to reinforce a 1999 guideline that was patchily implemented, and comes as school closures due to coronavirus raise fears of a rise in sexual abuse and unwanted pregnancies.

Many parents of pregnant girls, or the girls themselves, decide to quit schooling due to the pregnancy, and schools do not always do enough to encourage them to stay, officials say.

“I’m expecting every parent and guardian and everyone else to understand that every child must be assisted by all of us to go to school,” Cain Mathema, the education minister in charge of schools, told the Thomson Reuters Foundation this week

“Every child whether boy or girl… has a right to go to school in Zimbabwe,” he said.

In 2018, 12.5% of the country’s roughly 57,500 school dropouts stopped attending classes due to pregnancy or marriage reasons – almost all of them girls, according to Education Ministry statistics.

Sibusisiwe Ndlovu, the communications specialist at Plan International Zimbabwe welcomed the new legislation as a step in the right direction.

“This amendment is crucial in fulfilling the access to education right for all children – especially girls,” Ndlovu said

Big Brother Naija: lockdown housemate, Nengi, who is this week’s Deputy Head of House to Ozo has told him (Ozo) not to take her relationship with Kiddwaya serious as there is nothing going on between the two of them.

A Nigerian prophet, Abiodun has claimed that Jacob in the Bible was the number one Yahoo boy and 419 kingpin in history.

According to the white garment prophet, Jacob performed all kinds of fraud to the point that he fraudulently got married to two sisters.

He said;

“When talking about Yahoo boys, 419, Jacob in the Bible is number one. Honestly, in my own opinion. “Number one 419 kingpin is Jacob. He stole in every way. “He got to his in-laws house, he used fraud. He got married to two sisters from the same mother. “There was no wonder he didn’t perform”.

His statement has generated quite a number of reactions on social media, with many wondering if he is actually glorifying internet fraud by linking the fraudsters to a Biblical figure.

California Fire: I’d choose bad government over natural disasters — Comedian Basketmouth

Nigerian Ace Comedian, Bright Okpocha, recently took to his Instagram story to comment on the devastating wildfire being witnessed in California, USA.

More than 650 wildfires, many sparked by lightning, have burned more than 1.25 million acres in the Golden State since August 15. That’s more than six times the size of New York City.

The fires have left seven people dead and more than 1,400 buildings destroyed, Cal Fire said.

Reacting to the sad event, Basket mouth opined that he’d rather have a bad government than have natural disasters.

FFK Has Withdrawn The Word “Stupid” Which He Used When He Lambasted A Journalist in Calabar

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode popularly known as FFK has withdrawn the word “stupid” which he used when he lashed out at a journalist in Calabar for asking him if he was being bankrolled.

FFK took a tour to some states in the Southern region of the country. As part of his schedule, he had media briefings with some journalists in the state.

At the press conference in Calabar, a particular journalist, identified as Eyo Charles, asked him if he was being bankrolled by any politician or political group. FFK felt insulted by the question and lashed out at him.

The former minister has however taken to his twitter account to issue a statement, expressing his regrets for his action.

His statement reads,

“I met with my advisors & I wish to say the following. I hereby withdraw the word “stupid” which I used in my encounter with a journalist in Calabar. I have many friends in the media who I offended by losing my cool & using such words. I hereby express my regrets for doing so.1/4

“I do however wish to state categorically that no threat of physical harm was ever made to the journalist in question and neither did I send anyone to threaten him. Anyone that says otherwise is lying and I challenge them to bring the proof. 2/4

“I would never seek to physically harm a journalist. For the last 30 years I have defended & worked with journalists & fought for the right of freedom of expression. I am also very close to many in that profession. I would be the last to seek to disparage those that are..3/4

“…honorable and noble within its ranks. I hope that this will assuage the pain and anger of anyone that was hurt or offended by this ugly episode. I have now put this matter behind me and moved on. Now my tour of the South continues. Moving to another state today!
