Valerie who is his first child, graduated from the Computer Science department and was among the graduates from the University’s virtual convocation ceremony.

Nigerian singer-songwriter, Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ better known as Brymo has revealed that he is not out to get the prestigious Grammy award.
The singer who is known for making controversial statements on Twitter, took to the micro-blogging site stating that he is not looking for a Grammy award but would gladly accept it if it’s given to him. He wrote: “I’m not looking for a Grammy… I’ll take tho if dem give me.”

The Marlian president signed Torilyna Keeche, with the stage name Torikeeche, a singer, songwriter and also a producer, today, August 20, 2020.
Torikeeche joins Zinoleesky, Mohbad, Cblack, Fabian, who were the first of artistes signed to the record label as well as Lyta, who was signed few weeks back.

Popular Nigerian feminist and Twitter influencer, Ozzy Etomi has described the Big Brother house, as a house of suffering and pestilence.

The founder of Believers Love World, popularly known as Christ Embassy, Chris Oyakhilome, has described pastors who have refused to reopen their churches due to the COVID-19 pandemic as unbelievers.
According to the popular cleric, such pastors have denied the faith, and are no longer believers.
Despite the approval of the Federal and State Governments for worship centers to reopen after months of lock-down, some church leaders have decided they won’t reopen yet, for safety reasons.
Speaking to his congregation, Oyakhilome said, “If you refuse to open church for fear of being infected, you were never a believer.
“This is a great concern because there were churches that were thought to be churches until recently. We find a lot of ministers who were thought to be advocates of the gospel advocating for shutting down the churches because they cannot guarantee safety.
“It is pressure like this that reveals what is a church and what is not. Do they really believe in God, the same God of the patriarchs in the Bible?”
“When you get to that point where you are afraid of opening churches for fear of being infected, you have denied the faith. You never believed,”, he said.

The Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU), Muhammed Akanbi, has said it’s senseless for universities to produce first class graduates without enabling them with skills.
The VC made this statement after the report by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) that about 21.7 million Nigerians are unemployed.
Akanbi recommends that undergraduates should pursue entrepreneurial skills while in school.
The Professor in a statement when he led the management team of the institution on a working visit to some selected government agencies in Abuja to mobilise support for the university, noted that KWASU, in its effort to provide a solution to the joblessness of many youths after graduation, decided to make it a norm to produce graduates that are already engaged in one job-enabling skill or the other.
He said;
“Already, we encourage our students to engage in different entrepreneurship skills, acquire, hold and consider all certificates important. It does not make any sense if you are a first-class student and you are looking for a job. And I mean first-class in any programme.
“Our university is a university of community development and entrepreneurship. We have a center which is being rejigged and rejuvenated. It is now called the Center for Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship because we don’t want to teach entrepreneurship just in theory.
“We get our students involved in vocational things and technical aspects. You will see students engage in things like making face masks, face shields, hand sanitizers; some are into tailoring, some are into carpentry, some are into what I call mechanical automobile repair and things like that.” He added.

Seven students of the Government Science Secondary School, Gombe State, have tested positive to COVID-19, after the government carried out tests on the SS3 students following their resumption.
The Commissioner for Education, Habu Dahiru, noted that the government had conducted 1,100 tests on the final-year students following their resumption.
He disclosed that the students who have tested positive to the virus will not miss their exams, but they would be moved to an isolation center, where they can continue their papers.
In his words, “We gave preference to students returning from epicentre states like Kaduna, Kano, Yobe and Lagos; those places that have registered high cases of COVID-19. So far, we have tested 1,100 cases, out of which the first case from Government Science Secondary School.
“He was immediately evacuated and isolated. He has written his first paper, Mathematics, and he is writing Agricultural Science today. It will be demoralising for him if we don’t allow him to write his exams.
“The government of Gombe State under the leadership of governor Inuwa Yahaya said all students found to be positive for the virus should be taken care of. We have identified another set of students. We only got the results yesterday. Seven of them have been found to test positive for the virus. We are making arrangements to evacuate them to the isolation centre.
“will not allow them to miss their papers because they tested positive. The testing became easier because the governor approved N120 million to set up a molecular laboratory. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has certified it and we have started testing in earnest. “The samples taken from schools were tested here in Gombe at the molecular lab and results were shared. We went to the school to identify the seven students and kept them aside,” he added.
Recall that, on Monday it was reported that an SS3 student , who was infected with Covid-19, wrote the first paper in an isolation center, under strict observation.
This report brings the total number of students infected with corona virus to eight (8) in Gombe state.

Big Brother Naija: Lockdown housemate, Brighto has revealed his intentions to hurt his fellow housemate, Praise before he leaves the house.
Speaking with this week’s Head of House, Kiddwaya, Brighto said Praise is the main problem in the house and must be stopped before it gets worse.
According to him, Praise is a bully, talkative, liar and makes insensitive comments about people — Brighto expressed his desire to attack him by first dragging his 62-year-old wife into the conversation.
Kiddwaya was stunned to learn the age of Praise’s wife who he talks about frequently in the house. He disbelieved it, saying, a year-old woman can’t have a 2-year-old child and that Brighto should ascertain the true age of the woman or else he will fail the mission.

A 19-year-old girl, Sadiya Idris who was declared missing in 2013, has suddenly returned to her home in Kaduna, seven years later.
The teenager revealed what transpired during her 7 years away from home. Questions are being asked and speculations are being made regarding her disappearance and sudden reappearance after many years as everyone who knew her, wants to know what happened.
Investigations revealed that she was taken in by a pastor identified as Jonah Gangas who is currently in police custody.
Speaking in an interview with Legit, Idris disclosed that she ran away when she was twelve because she did not experience the love of a mother so she decided to stay on her own. While she was wandering, she ran into a man whom she approached for help.
The man took her to a pastor who took her in and converted her to a Christian. She was enrolled in a school in Jos and ended up living there. The young girl said she could not really tell what made her leave the house. Becoming a Christian was not a forced decision according to her.
The pastor upon meeting her did not report her case to the police neither did he try reuniting her with her family.
During the course of the interview, Abubakar Awwal, the chairman of the complaints and response unit, chipped in a few facts. He stated that the issue of the girl’s disappearance and reappearance should not be swept under the ground.
According to him, the pastor might have had good intentions but he did not take the right steps which ought to have been followed in such a sensitive case. Awwal said his office only came into the matter after she returned to her family, however, he believes there was a violation of rights.

A lady identified as Mary Idris has been arrested by the police for allegedly faking her kidnap, to extort money from her parents.
Mary who confessed to the crime, revealed that she arranged her kidnap on the 9th of August 2020, because her parents were not taking care of her.
She was arrested alongside her accomplice Victor Olawuse in Akure, Ondo State.
The arrest was shortly after her younger sister received a message conveying news of her alleged kidnap and demand for a ransom to be paid.
Ekiti state Commissioner of Police, Tunde Mobayo who was represented by the state Police Public Relations Officer Sunday Abutu during the parade, said;
” Mary’s mother came to our station and reported that her daughter, Mary Idris, left home on August 9, at about 4pm and never returned.
“She said all efforts to reach her daughter via phone calls proved abortive. After a while, the younger sister of the suspect received a message through her phone that Mary had been kidnapped and demanded ransom to be paid.
“The command’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad operatives tracked the phone number that sent the message to Akure, Ondo State, where Mary was arrested alongside her accomplice, Victor Olawuse.”

A woman caught a lot of people’s attention after she was captured on camera begging with a set of quadruplet on the road side but vanished when concerned Nigerians asked her to present the children’s birth certificate.
She’s now been labelled a scammer due to her failure to present the children’s certificates and disappearing when help was about to be offered.
With Nigerians willing to help her, the woman was questioned and she stated that the quadruplet are hers. She was then asked to present their birth certificate as proof so people can feel confident in helping her.
The woman who was found begging in Benue state said she needed to go to Onitsha for the certificate. However, her phone has since been switched off. Meanwhile, it’s been alleged that she’s also been seen begging with the children in Port Harcourt.
The woman’s photo was shared to warn Nigerians as it was alleged that there are a group of scammers who rent people’s children to beg for alms with them, after which they give a certain percentage to the biological parents of the kids.

A Nigerian woman has shared a heartbreaking video of her interrogating her househelp who allegedly tried to poison her drinking water.
In the video, the househelp could be seen kneeling down as her boss questioned her on why she was trying to poison her by pouring insecticide into her drinking water.
Apparently, the househelp sneaked out her Madam’s room key and poured insecticide into her drinking water, before she was caught.

Controversial Nigerian investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has alleged that she has Chioma, Davido’s fiancee’s sex tape with his signed recording artiste, Peruzzi.
Madam Olunloyo gave the revelation as she reacted to a post made by Chioma, where she threatened to arrest the journalist over the derogatory comments she makes about herself (Chioma) and her husband.

Popular Nigerian actress, Ada Ameh has taken to her social media page to over the deplorable state of things in Nigeria.
She decried how bad things have gotten in the country, wondering when and how things got really terrible to the point that the fire brigade approach is used in everything.
Ameh’s outcry was as a result of an ongoing road repair work going on in Lagos which forced motorists to wait for hours in their car as heavy traffic kept building up.
