Popular Nigerian Yoruba actress, Dayo Amusa took to her page recently to share a series of photos and in one of them, a troll commented her dislike and asked why “Yoruba actors are local”.

Nigerian comic actor, Afeez Oyetoro popularly known as Saka has received numerous encomiums and well wishes from colleagues as he turns 57.

Saka, who is referred to as ”dad” by many in the entertainment industry, had earlier taken to social media to thank God for a new age. The actor also noted that he has many reasons to appreciate God.

Police nabs 60-year-old fake doctor for treating COVID-19 patients in Abuja

A 60-year-old alleged fake doctor, identified as Charles George, has been arrested by the police, for treating corona virus patients in Abuja.

He was arrested in his one-room apartment at Block 1, Julius Berger Junior Staff Quarters,in Kubwa, by police detectives from the office of the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory..

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria confirmed George’s arrest and described it as a major breakthrough.

Syringe (for abortion) and kidney dish, among others were recovered from the suspect. The fake doctor reportedly subjected his clients to unprofessional medical treatment which “may lead to sudden and unnatural death.”

The police however, identified George as a regular customer of the FCDA Police Station and Kubwa Area Command Headquarters. He was said to have been arrested severally, for cases involving, mixed medicine and extortion of his clients since 2016.

The Deputy Registrar and Head of the Inspectorate Department of the MDCN, Dr. Victor Gbenro speaking about the arrest, said;

“The arrest of the suspected fake medical/alternative medicine practitioner, by name Dr. Charles George, at his Kubwa premises is a major breakthrough for the MDCN under the leadership of the Registrar, Dr. Tajudeen Sanusi.

“Acting on an intelligence report from the IG intelligence team, the Inspectorate Department of the MDCN as directed by the registrar effected the successful arrest of the fake doctor, who has been defrauding unsuspecting members of the public and posing as a member of the NCDC COVID-19 team.

“The suspect is alleged to have been practising alternative medicine without registration or licence from the MDCN, which is statutorily mandated to regulate the practice of medical, dental and alternative medicine in Nigeria.

“Investigation revealed that his practice is not known or registered by the FCDA Private Health Facility Registration Agency. The police have commenced further investigation and prosecution of the suspect. This is one among the several efforts of the council at sanitising the medical profession in the country.”

Police arrest fleeing Ogun engineer who raped neighbour’s daughter

A man identified as Adewunmi Lawal, an Engineer who has been on the run after allegedly raping his neighbour’s daughter in Ogun State, has been arrested by the police.

News made rounds earlier that the 16-year-old victim was defiled after the suspect broke into their apartment shortly after her mother who is a widow, travelled to Badagry in Lagos State for prayers.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, the police spokesperson for Ogun state, said Adewunmi was arrested in Lagos and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

Abimbola said ;

“He was arrested two days ago. He was sighted somewhere in Lagos because he was looking for ways to persuade the parents of the girl and in the process, he went to the office of a non-governmental organisation in Lagos; he wanted the NGO to invite the victim’s mother for them to resolve.

“While he was there, we got information and quickly alerted our counterpart in Lagos that they should get him arrested for us. He was arrested at Ijaiye Ojokoro and our operatives from here went there to bring him in. As soon as we conclude investigation, he will be going to court.”

Nigerian stand-up comedian, Alibaba has revealed that a typical Nigerian would prefer a bad leader from his tribe, to a good leader from another tribe.

The 55-year old strongly believes that Nigerians would choose having someone from their tribe in power, over good leadership.

The Ace comedian took to his Instagram page to share his thought.

According to him, the problem Nigeria is facing, resulted from people always choosing someone from their tribe over good leadership.

Another man chained by father for 30 years rescued in Kano

A man identified as Murtala Muhammad, has been rescued by men of the Kano State Police Command after being locked up in a room by his father for 30 years.

The development comes four days after the police rescued one Ibrahim Lawan, a man held captive by his father for 15 years in the same city.

Muhammad, a resident of Kofar Fada in Rogo Local Government Area of ​​Kano State, was rescued by the police and Human Rights Network on Thursday.

Comrade AA Haruna Ayagi, Executive Director of Human Rights Network, said Muhammad was 25 years old when he was locked up in the house.

According to the unidentified lady, her boyfriend impregnated a girl and confessed to her that he was seduced by the girl. However the interestingly odd part was that he asked his girlfriend to allow him bring the pregnant girl to stay at her place since he is unemployed and stays with his sister.

After agreeing to harbour the girl, the young lady who goes to work daily, said that anytime she returns, there are always signs that some intimate deeds took place, just as she caught him on a random day but he apologized.

The lady revealed that she has been spending money on the pregnant girl and there are days where she sleeps in the sitting room because her boyfriend and the girl sleep in her bedroom.

Zaidu Haruna, a final year student of Nassarawa State University studying Biology Education, lost his life while attempting to save a trader who was being electrocuted at the GSM village in Keffi on August 17.

We gathered that the mobile phone repairer, Junauda Shaibu was about to carry his work tools when he was electrocuted by a high tension wire. Zaidu had attempted to rescue Junauda when he also got electrocuted and died in the process.

Zaidu’s friends and family have taken to their social media to grief his death.

Woman left devastated as pet dog eats her savings

A Briton, Jocelyn Horne, is left devastated after discovering her beloved pet dog ate up her savings when she wasn’t at home.

According to dog lover who hails from the Isle of Man, she initially thought her boyfriend named Allan Kinrade was playing a prank on her when he disclosed that their dog had chewed up her savings pot on her bedside table.

Jocelyn upon reaching her home said she only saw a £20 (10,000 naira) bill lying on the floor next to her dog, Peggy and that was when she realized her £100 (51,000 naira) savings was really gone.

According to her, the 10-month-old pet poodle Peggy has a passion for chewing anything and everything that hits the floor. She said upon seeing remnants of the dog’s havoc she didn’t know whether to ‘laugh or cry’.

On the fateful day of the event, Jocelyn couldn’t look Peggy in the eye as she was so upset, but she eventually saw the funny side to it.

Jocelyn said: ‘’I keep my bedroom door closed because of her [Peggy] and I came in and could just see a single piece of £20 on my bed. ‘I searched high and low, couldn’t find anything else and thought there’s no way she’s eaten £100 – she couldn’t have.

‘’I actually thought it was my boyfriend playing a joke on me as he kept laughing and I was still adamant that I must’ve misplaced it.’

‘’Normally when she gets hold of something like toilet roll holders or the post, she just shreds it to pieces – she doesn’t actually swallow it. ‘I don’t know why she decided to swallow these £20 notes, and they mustn’t have gone down very well.

‘‘I thought I’d wash them to see if I can get the serial numbers because then you can possibly get your money back, but she’d just thrown up parts of each note as if to really take the mickey.

‘’Most people just find it hilarious, but know the pain that you’re going through because it’s a lot of money. ‘My children also found it hilarious – they don’t know what £100 means. ‘I still don’t know whether to laugh or cry – I look at her and I think I bloody love you, but you’ve swallowed £100.’’

Thursday Aug 20 will remain a blessing in the life of the masked Nigerian music artiste, Anonymous9ja.

It all started with the upcoming music act tweeting a song with the twitter handle @iamanonymous9ja where he was begging to be signed.

The tweet then prompted an infamous Twitter user, @ewawunmi to throw bants equating him to a low budget lagbaja, even going as far as declaring he will never get a record deal.

The ensuing uproar beamed a light on the act who in no time had record labels gunning for him. Of which he has been offered a 5 million naira recording deal a car and apartment The singer joins the long list of people who have had live changing moments on social media.

We sure can’t help but wish him well and below is one of his songs titled Boys2men.

The Veteran Actress came for people who she described as having “miserable directionless life” coming on social media to dismiss someone’s hardwork as trash.

She urged them to also do the work they criticize, if it were to be that easy.

She wrote,

A CCTV footage of a couple having sex in a newly-opened cinema, has been making rounds on the internet.

The unidentified couple were caught on camera having sex in the front row of the cinema.

Security footage from what is said to be a UK cinema was shared to Twitter, where it has since gone viral.

In the video, the woman, who is naked from her waist down appears to straddle her lover as he sat on a cinema seat. They then get down to business, seemingly oblivious to the CCTV system above.

The video was posted with the caption: “Who does this and you people don’t think you’ll get caught. We check the cameras darlin!!!”

Nigerian musician, two change activists on Glo-sponsored African Voices Compilation edition

The compilation edition of African Voices Changemakers, Globacom-sponsored magazine programme on CNN, airs this weekend. It will feature two Nigerians, ace musician Mr. Eazi and an equal-opportunity agent, Orondaam Otto, as well as South African beauty queen, Zozibini Tunzi.

Banku music exponent, songwriter and music star, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, will acquaint viewers with the story of how he pioneered Banku music, a collage of Nigerian rhythms and Ghanaian highlife.

A Mechanical Engineering graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, Mr. Eazi started his musical career in 2012 with his rhythm and blues single titled “Pipi Dance”. He has had collaborations with other A-list acts including Ghanaian R&B star, Sarkodie; Lil Kesh, and Burna Boy who are both successful Nigerian music merchants. His hit singles include “Leg Over” and “Tilapia”

The second feature on the programme is 32-year-old Nigerian, Otto, a Human Anatomy graduate of University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria who is committed to seeing an African continent whose potentials are maximized and one which will be celebrated for the innovations and uniqueness of her people. He is also focused on seeing that every African Child gets good education.

A social reformer and development enthusiast, Otto leads as executive director, a team of 40 managers and hundreds of volunteers at Slum2School Africa which provides equal opportunities for disadvantaged children in every nook and cranny of Nigerian slums.

Lastly, Zozibini Tunzi, South African model and beauty pageant who is the current Miss Universe, has a National Diploma in public relations management from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. The 26-year-old teaches and encourages young girls and women to assume leadership positions in order to extend their frontiers of influence in South Africa’s national life.

The 30-minute magazine programme comes up on CNN on DSTV Channel 401 on Saturday at 9.00 p.m; Sunday at 4.30 a.m., 7.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m with a repeat broadcast on the same channel on Monday at 5.30 a.m

She turns 2 today, and the singer celebrated her by sharing these wonderful pictures

The excited father released these photos of his daughter to mark her birthday. He wrote in his caption:

‘My Wilmer is 2. Happy Birthday My Lil Queen..You are a Big Blessing to me.’

Earlier this month, August, it was reported that the singer purchased a brand new Lamborghini Urus 2020 worth $222,000 (N85 million).

Giving his followers a view of his latest ride, the “My Woman” crooner shared a photo of himself with the new ride.

Captioning the newly acquired ride, the singer wrote;

The reggae artiste, recently dropped a jam, tagged “Abule”, which was produced Telz.
