9-year-old girl dies after her mother applied pesticide on her lice-infested hair

A nine-year-old girl in rivers state, reportedly lost her life after her mother applied pesticide on her hair to kill lice.

According to report, the deceased mother followed her hairdressers advice to use sniper to get rid of lice in her daughters hair.

Dr Gloria Nwosu, a pediatrician at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, disclosed this to newsmen at a press conference on Thursday, September 3rd.

She said the woman followed the advice of her hairdresser and put the pesticide on the hair of two of her daughters, aged nine and four, respectively.

Nwosu noted that after applying the harmful liquid, the nine-year-old girl convulsed for hours before she died and that the prompt effort of the doctors in the hospital helped save the life of the four-year-old.

In her words,

“Their mother felt that the hairdresser would know what to do since it has to do with lice. We did everything we could to bring the child back to normal, but it was all abortive.

“She (the deceased) was very sick. The second child slumped in our presence and we immediately admitted her and gave her an antidote. So, the question now is how many of these children may have gone through this?

“It affected her brain because she convulsed for over two hours. Now, there is something we do to check for oxygen saturation; it remained low. It never went back to normal. Then they can have something coming out from their mouth. This child kept pouring out saliva. It never went off until she passed on.

“They also have high blood pressure. This child’s blood pressure was high. We saw all those symptoms on this child,” Nwosu said

A Nigerian-American lady, Jackie Aina, has shown utmost appreciation to her mother for all the things she has done by acquiring an expensive car for her.

Aina took to her social media page on her mom’s 59th birthday to reveal that she bought a white BMW X7 as a gift. In a video she shared, her mum who was seen driving the car for the very first time, could not hide her joy as she gave a funny reaction filled with pride while driving away.

Aina, a popular YouTuber said her mother has always wanted that type of car for a long time — she also revealed that her mother deserves so much more than the vehicle.

Sharing a video of the moment her mum was cruising with the car, Aina wrote,

Daddy Freeze has reacted to Bishop Oyedepo’s post on social media where he opined that the only way to a fruitful marriage is total submission on the part of the wife.

The clergyman had earlier shared his opinion on marriage via a post on Instagram that read ;

“The only way to a fruitful marriage is total submission on the part of the wife. Until it is in place, every other thing she tries to do will be out of place. A woman who refuses to submit to her husband is disobeying God. As a woman, you might even be a minister of the gospel, and your husband is not, the Word of God still says to submit yourself to him.”
Which he backed up a biblical verse: “A submissive woman is precious in the sight of her husband – Ephesians 5:22.”

Daddy Freeze has however countered this school of thought as he thinks it is subject to patriarchy and misogyny. In an open letter to the founder of Living Faith Ministries, He stated that submission goes both ways. It’s not reserved for women alone.

A quite young Nigerian mother has caused a frenzy on Nigerian social media after she shared lovely photos of herself posing with her first son and the two could pass for a couple.

The lady and her son’s photos has had a lot of people on social media in talks with many in doubt whether or not the gentleman in the photos is actually her son or her lover.

The lady identified as Ada Ujaligwa took to her Facebook page recently to share the really lovely photos of herself with a fully grown man who actually could pass for her partner but introduced him as her “first son”.

Ada, who has an admirable amount of followers on the social networking platform revealed that she was off to the gym with her son as they were both clad in sport wears.

The now viral pictures has had Nigerians talking — while many were of the notion that she probably got pregnant at an early age and applauded her for keeping the baby, others, especially ladies were of the opinion she is old enough to be the mother of the said man but might just have a naturally small body stature.

The bride and groom were recently joined in holy matrimony and they look so happy in the pictures going viral on social media.

Godfrey Baguma, 47, who is believed to suffer from a rare, unknown medical condition, and his second wife Kate Namanda, 30, welcomed a baby girl some years ago.

Baguma won the less-than-favourable title in 2002, after he entered the competition to make money for family.

Before his marriage to Kate, Godfrey had two children with his first wife – but their marriage came to an end when he caught her cheating.

Pregnant girlfriend allegedly stabs boyfriend to death after he requested an abortion

A 25-year old pregnant lady, identified as Oyinye Chime, allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death in Anambra because he told her to abort the pregnancy.

The police in Anambra state have arrested Chime, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Eleyi Azubuike, to death at his home in Ochiagha street in Nkpor, an area in the state on Wednesday, September 2.

The spokesperson of the state police command, Muhammed Haruna, who disclosed this to newsmen, said the police received a report of the alleged murder and immediately visited the scene on Wednesday.

According to report the deceased allegedly impregnated the suspect and wanted an abortion which she declined and demanded some money for her upkeep.

The deceased boyfriend refused to give her the money for her upkeep, and this eventually led to an heated argument between the couple.

The fight resulted in the boyfriend being stabbed to death.

According to Haruna, police detectives attached to Ogidi Division led by the DPO CSP Ekuri Remigius visited the scene and rushed the victim who was found in a pool of his blood to Iyi Enu Mission hospital Ogidi, for medical attention, where he was certified dead by the medical doctor on arrival.

He said a careful observation on the deceased body revealed a stab wound on his chest while a blood-stained Kitchen knife was also recovered at the scene as Exhibit.

The spokesperson stated that the case is under investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.

During their tasks, Erica picked Lucy in her team, but Lucy wasn’t happy about it. She said she prefers to be in Prince’s team.

However, the housemates were not happy with Lucy’s preference, especially Erica and Neo who didn’t hesitate to drag the hell out of her over her behavior.

Neo said he’s sick of Lucy trying to bend the rules, and twist things to her favour while Erica maintained that Lucy is negative energy, that’s why nobody wants to work with her.

A teenage boy identified as Sadiku Umar, has been rescued after he was locked up in a cage for two years by his father, Salisu Umar, in Daura, Katsina state.

According to neighbors, Umar locked up his 16-year-old son who is physically challenged in the cage since he was 14, and fed him like a ”dog.”

An SCI agent in Daura, Aminu Gambo said

“the man told the police that he decided to put the boy in a cage because there was no longer space for him in the two-room apartment housing the entire family of 15 including his 12 other children.

He was detained at the police station in Daura for a day and then moved to the police headquarters in Katsina and later released on the condition that he would no longer subject the boy to such inhuman treatment.”

Drama as disciplinarian invited by a father to help discipline his 19-year- old son, stabs the son to death

Spare the rod and the spoil the child, however, discipline went wrong in Lagos when a man identified as Felix Ezike stabbed the Son of one Dada Animashaun, who invited him to help discipline his son.

The Lagos state police command has arrested Felix Ezike, for allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old boy, Deji Animashaun, to death in the Egbe area of Ikotun, Lagos State on August 28.

According to police report, Deji’s father, Dada Animashaun, had invited Felix to his house to help him discipline his son who was allegedly caught stealing and has refused to change his ways.

It was reported that Deji put up resistance when Felix tried to discipline him. Felix got angry and brought out a jack-knife which he allegedly used to stab the teenager on the head and his body.

Deji’s father immediately rushed him to the hospital where he died while receiving treatment.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Bala Elkana, said,

“On August 28, 2020, around 4.30pm, one Dada Animashaun, of Rasheed Bello Street, Egbe, Ikotun, allegedly invited one Felix Ezike, 27, to his house to discipline his son, Deji Animashaun, 19, for stealing and becoming a defiant.

“In the process, the son resisted the punishment and was stabbed with a jack knife in the head and body by the said Felix Ezike.

A 24-year-old Nigerian lady identified as Omolara Akintayo has said she regrets travelling to Libya in search of greener pastures.

In a video interview with Legit TV, the young lady said she travel led to Libya in search of greener pastures because her parents were languishing in poverty.

Omolara narrated the ordeal she went through on her way to Libya, saying she spent 14 days to get to the North African country.

According to her, while they were in the desert, some people lost their lives and others were forced to drink water mixed with faeces as there was no clean water and food. Omolara said two of her friends were raped in the desert during their trip to Libya.

She said: “Many things happened on our way. If I had heard about them before leaving Nigeria, I wouldn’t have traveled to Libya.”

The young lady said the same person she paid N600,000 abandoned her in an Arab man’s house and she was not allowed to go out for a year.

She said:

“This person was collecting my salary every month while I was doing all the work. I couldn’t eat there because I could not eat their food there.

“Sometimes I would sleep by 2am or 3am because we had to wash plate in the Arab’s house. Sometimes we would wash their faeces, dress the elderly ones. There was nothing we did not do. Chores that I couldn’t do for my parents, I did them while I was there.”

The young lady said she blamed herself for travelling to Libya, adding that she was unable to communicate with her parents for two years. She said when she had an issue with her job, she was asked if she would be able to engage in prostitution but she said she couldn’t, adding that she preferred to work as a cleaner.

Omolara said: “I continued as a cleaner in an Arab man’s house. For two years, I was indoors and didn’t know what was happening outdoors, to the extent that I wouldn’t know when my boss came to collect my salary.”

She said she regained her freedom after she finished paying the person that took her to Libya.
