Popular Nigerian TV personality, Frank Edoho has revealed how he once lost a bet to a friend some months back, after he thought that he could get about 10,000 of his Twitter followers to follow him on Instagram.
The former host of defunct Nigerian reality TV show, ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Nigeria’, revealed this to a Twitter fan on Friday who sought to know his Instagram handle.
“Same as Twitter. Months ago I made a bet with my friend that I could get my 10,000 followers from Twitter to follow me on Instagram,” he answered.
“I tried and I lost my money and he still laughs at me till this day. That taught me a lesson- followers don’t mean supporters.”

A lady has joyfully announced that her uncle who was a few days ago, pronounced dead as a result of COVID-19 complications come back to life.
The lady a Twitter user with the handle, @BlacSilhouette had taken to the social networking platform on July 20th, to shared the news of his demise, stating she couldn’t believe she lost an uncle to the deadly virus.
She went on to add that she couldn’t really wait till all pain went away as 2020 had been one hell of a year. The lady then three days later, yesterday, took to Twitter again to reveal that her Uncle who had actually been on life support was back to life.
“OMG! I’m shaking, God did it. He did not die. They took out life support days ago because he wasn’t responding anymore. But he opened his eyes yesterday and he breaths…God. Although he hasn’t spoken yet, we pray and hope he does”, she wrote.

A Nollywood actress, Elenora Amarachi Paul, recently gave the narrative of how Big Brother Naija: Lockdown housemate, Prince Enwerem helped her on a day she was stranded in Lekki, Lagos.
According to Amarachi, she was almost harassed at a house party she attended because she didn’t want to sleep with one of the guys in attendance and she couldn’t get a cab home because she was late.

Nigerian Music Mogul, Don Jazzy has taken to social media to share his thoughts about the ongoing probe of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

A Zambian pastor in 2018 made a revelation in 2018, and it is currently trending on social media.
The pastor identified as Zipporah Mushala, stated that children who indulge in watching animated are bound for hell fire.
She spoke on how Television programmes negatively influence kids, with many of them ending up practicing or re-enacting what they watched whether the things are wrong or right.
Speaking further, the pastor claimed that secular TV also goes a long way in throwing people to hell as she claimed to have seen an 8-year-old girl in hell because she used makeup and fixed artificial hair.

There is a spirit in that drawing which controls their behavior when they wear that. The Lord had also told us that people should get rid of clothes with drawings such as skeletons and skulls and other demonic drawings because they have evil spirits.
“You can only pray for clothes WITHOUT demonic drawings and they get purified from any spells that were cast on them while making them. The Lord said that for clothes with demonic drawings, these must be burnt. “The Lord has several times warned that secular Tv is leading people to hell. “This is what the parents are teaching their children. Even girls as young as this are putting on makeup. The young children also see this makeup from cartoons like Barbie and they want to dress like those cartoons. They want to dress in the short skirts and trousers they see on those cartoons. Tell their parents to teach them the way of the Lord and to dress decently because they are coming to this place! If a child knows right from wrong and does not do right they are coming to this place! Many times in cartoons, they portray as though dressing that way is being ladylike. But it’s all a trap.”
The Chicago lawyer representing alleged fraudster, Olalekan Ponle AKA Mr Woodberry, Michael Nash has revealed why the fraud case against his client was dismissed by a US court.
It was earlier reported that the United States government on Monday July 20th filed a motion through its attorney John R. Lausch, requesting that the case against Woodberry be dismissed without prejudice, even though he was indicted by a grand jury on an eight-count charge of wire fraud.
However, commenting on the development, Nash told Premium Times that the case was dismissed because the government charged his client with a slightly different crime.
He said,
“The government dismissed the case because it charged him with a slightly different crime. In the long run, no difference.”
Assistant U.S. Attorney, Joseph D. Fitzpatrick who spoke on behalf of the plaintiff also told the publication that although the complaint is dismissed, the grand jury’s indictment is still active.
Fitzpatrick said;
“We dismissed the complaint, but the indictment (charging 8 counts of wire fraud) is still active. We cannot comment on the dismissal of the complaint, but I wanted to make sure you knew the indictment is still active.
“Mr Ponle has now been charged by indictment, instead of being charged by the complaint by FBI”.
It was further learnt that the suspected Nigerian fraudster is still in the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
Lottery operator commits suicide over inability to pay winnings in Lagos
Baba Pool, 70, left a suicide note before hanging himself inside his shop.
A lottery shop operator identified simply as Baba Pool, on Thursday, July 23, allegedly committed suicide inside his shop in Kayode Market, Abule Ijesha, in the Sabo area of Lagos State over his “inability to pay the winnings of his customers”.
Baba Pool, 70, dropped a suicide note before he hung himself inside his shop. His suicide note read
“For your information, Bourney and Osuma. Two of them kill me. A killer must surely die.”
According to traders in the market, the two persons the deceased accused of causing his death had some time ago played lottery in his shop but he did not submit their tickets to the lottery office.
When the lottery players realized that they had won, they asked for their money but instead of explaining to them that he did not submit their tickets, he decided to take his life.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Bala Elkana, said the two accused persons have been arrested and are currently being questioned.
In other related news, a 32-year-old Nigerian man identified as Aboh Ogbeche, reportedly committed suicide in the presence of his mother in the Lawanson, Surulere area of Lagos State on Friday, July 17.
Mr. Ogbeche who did not leave any suicide note, had poured a harmful liquid into a cup and sat before his mum where he gulped the liquid and started convulsing afterward. His mother immediately raised an alarm and he was subsequently rushed to the hospital where he was certified dead.
Described as a quite jovial person, many people who knew Aboh have been left in shock as they had no inkling he was ever going to take his own life.
A Nigerian man who recently welcomed his first child with his wife has splashed a lot of money to show his appreciation.
The man Identified as Ishola Omo Adisa, he recently acquired a fancy automobile as ‘push gift’ for his wife who gave birth to their child.

The Nigerian Air Force has said an autopsy was not carried out on Tolulope Arotile, the first Combat Helicopter pilot in Nigeria who died on July 14, because the circumstances surrounding her death were clear.
Arotile, 25, died after she was hit by a former classmate at the Nigeria Air Force base in Kaduna state — a lot of Nigerians had called for an investigation into her death as they made demands for an autopsy to be carried out on Arotile who was laid to rest in Abuja on Thursday, July 23.
However, speaking to Channels TV on Friday morning July 24, spokesman for the Nigeria Air Force NAF, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, said an autopsy was not done because of the circumstances surrounding her death were clear.
He added that her family members were not open to an autopsy as they wanted to move on from the unfortunate incident.
“On the issue of autopsy or otherwise, that would have been initiated by the family but based on discussions with them and the fact that witnesses were there at the time she was taken to the Nigerian Air Force hospital in Kaduna, there were no doubts as to the cause of death which was head injury as a result of blunt force trauma caused by the vehicle hitting her from the rear.
So, in consultation with her family, her father, Akintunde Arotile, said they wanted closure on this matter and that he was comfortable with the Nigerian Air Force’s investigation which of course is also being transferred to the police.
Autopsy was not done because it wasn’t requested, the cause of death was already known based on the investigation and how she was taken to the hospital, and the confirmation was made. There were no doubts in that regard and there was no request from the family for that specifically. No autopsy was done.”
He said those that were in the car that killed Arotile will be handed over to the police today July 24.
Some housemates of the ongoing Big Brother Naija reality TV show sat down their fellow housemate, Ozo on Thursday night to question him on why he is yet to make a move on Nengi who is his kind of woman.
The late-night conversation was an interesting one to watch as the housemates engaged both Ozo and Nengi concerning the state of their relationship in the house, to see if there’s the potential of that ship sailing.

A Nigerian man identified as ”Last Battalion” on Facebook, has sparked an outrage on the platform after he shared photos of a cat he killed.
While sharing photos of the dead cat, Emmanuel called out the Witchcraft Association in Nigeria, Kubwa-Abuja chapter, warning them to desist from sending their ”recruits/apprentice” to his room.

The Lagos State Government has revealed that it spends between N100,000 and N1m daily on each of the COVID-19 patients in the state.
This is coming as the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lagos state exceeds 14,000.
The Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, disclosed the cost of treating COVID-19 patients in the state at a media briefing on Thursday.
Akin Abayomi explained that for mild and moderate cases, the state government spends averagely about N100,000 daily.
According to him, it costs the state government about N500,000 and N1m, to treat a patient with a serious case.
Abayomi, however, said it would be very difficult to calculate what it costs the state government to treat a COVID-19 patient, but what he provided was a rough estimate. He said;
“To treat mild-to-moderate case patients in our isolation centre is somewhere in the region of N100,000 per day.
“That gives you an idea of the amount of money the government is spending on COVID-19 isolation facilities and COVID-19 care.
“If you require high care or intensive care, that amount can go up to anything from N500,000 to even a million naira per day, depending on the complications of the case.
“Do you need ventilation, dialysis, intravenous antibiotics… Every case is different; so, it is difficult to calculate exactly how much a patient in high care or intensive care would cost.
“We are working on the rate and we would make it available when it’s ready.”
The cost he arrived at, factored in treatment, cost of feeding, accommodation and the services provided by the healthcare givers, etc.
Abayomi also revealed that about 2,036 COVID-19 patients have not been picked from the community in the last two weeks, due to preference for home treatment, logistic issues, wrong information provided in their forms and inability to reach such patients because their phones were switched off.

The fraud case against Olalekan Ponle better known as Mr Woodberry who was apprehended alongside Ramon Abbas AKA Hushpuppi, has been dismissed by a US court.
It should be recalled that Woodberry was accused of tricking a Chicago company into sending wire transfers totalling $15.2 million. Prosecutors disclosed that companies based in Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, New York and California were also victims of the fraud.
He was arrested in the United Arab Emirate on June 10 after a raid by operatives of the Dubai crime unit, and subsequently extradited to the U.S. on July 2.
Though Woodberry was indicted by a grand jury on an eight-count charge of wire fraud, the United States government on Monday July 20th filed a motion through its attorney John R. Lausch, requesting that the case against him be dismissed without prejudice.
Lausch said;
“Counsel for the government has spoken with counsel for the defendant and defendant’s counsel has no objection to this motion. Respectfully submitted.”
He added that the request was made in pursuant with Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure 48, which states that the government may, with leave of court, dismiss an indictment, information, or complaint.
A court order issued by Judge Robert W. Gettleman on Tuesday July 21, confirmed that the government’s motion to dismiss complaint without prejudice was granted.
Mr Gentleman said;
“Without objection the complaint against defendant Ponle is dismissed without prejudice. Motion presentment hearing set for 7/23/2020 is stricken.”
Since Woodberry’s case was dismissed without prejudice, it is temporal as the prosecutor can refile the case within a certain period of time.
The probable causes of dismissal range from unavailability of sufficient evidence, an improper criminal complaint or charging document, to loss of evidence necessary to prove the defendant committed the crime.

Olamilekan Agbeleshe, popularly known as Laycon is signed under Fierce Nation Entertainment, and he is the lead act. He is Lagos born and bred artiste.
Laycon started out his musical journey very early, developing his art from Secondary school. He got introduced to Hiphop and rap music and later on crossed over to other genres of music. A United States Court sitting in Illinois, Chicago has given its reason for denying embattled Nigerian socialite, Ramon Abbas a.k.a Hushpuppi bail.
It should be recalled that the Instagram celebrity who was apprehended in Dubai early in June for alleged wire fraud and was extradited to the U.S on July 3, was accused of being part of a network that made “hundreds of millions of dollars” from business email compromise frauds and other scams.
The US court has now revealed that it denied Hushpuppi bail and the opportunity to stay with his girlfriend’s Uncle pending the conclusion of his trial.
Based on the recommendations of the Pretrial services which provides the court quality information about defendants, it was stated that Hushpuppi presents a risk of non appearance and should be removed to the charging district in California in custody.
According to a report by Premium Times, other factors include the fact that Mr Abbas is subject to lengthy period of incarceration if convicted, lacks significant community or family ties to the district, lacks significant family or other ties outside the United States, lacks legal status in the country and will be subjected to removal or deportation for serving any period of incarceration.
If the allegations turns out true, it was further stated that Huspuppi who has ties with many foreign countries has sufficient assets to fund flight to anywhere in the world.
The statement partly read,
“Abbas reportedly rents an apartment in Dubai for $10.000 a month and drives a Bentley. He is alleged to have committed financial crimes that netted tens of millions of dollars or more.
“For these reasons and those stated on the record, Mr Abbas shall be removed to the charging district in the custody of the US Marshal.”
Hushpuppi risks spending 20 years in prison if convicted.
A National youth corps member who graduated from UNIZIK was killed after she was allegedly poisoned by a man she turned down.
Chizuroke Egodi Onuorah was one of the best graduating students in the Environmental management department and the second best-graduating student in the faculty of environmental sciences.
She was posted to Oyo state for her NYSC where she unfortunately passed away before completing her youth service.
There’s been two different reports about the cause of her death. Friends shared screenshots of a chat where the deceased purportedly claimed that she had been vomiting after being poisoned by a man who was asking her out in Ibadan.
However, another Facebook user claimed she died from “kidney related disease” after battling for months to stay alive. It however is not clear if the kidney disease was as a result of the alleged poisoning.
