A graduate of Kano State Polytechnic, one Isah Salisu Alhassan who just passed out from his National Youth Service year, has shared emotional photos of him presenting his discharge certificate to his late mum at her grave.
According to Isah, his mom passed in January of this year, 5 months to his POP. While other corps members took their certificates home to their folks, Isah took his to his mom’s grave.

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye has reacted to the rape and murder of Miss. Uwa Omozuwa in one of the branches of his church in Edo state.
The leader of one of the most popular churches in the country reacted to the tragic incident on Instagram saying what can be done at this time is to pray for the family of Omozuwa.
He wrote,
“All I can do at this time is to pray for the family of Omozuwa and do everything possible working with relevant authorities to bring the perpetrators to book. I and members of my Family condemn this act strongly and urge everyone to stay calm as we are already looking into the matter and cooperating with the police to establish the facts of the shocking situation . . #justiceforuwa”
The Redeemed Christian Church of God also released a statement where they explained why Uwa was in church during the lockdown, how she was found, and the actions taken after she was found lying in the pool of her blood.
Veteran Nigerian Musician, D’jinee, has reacted to the brutal rape and murder of a 22-year-old uniben student, Uwa Omozuwa. Omozuwa, was brutalized, raped, and murdered while reading inside a church.
The sad event sparked a large outcry as Nigerians are calling for justice and for the perpetrators of the dastardly act be brought to book.
Reacting to Uwa’s death, the singer wrote: “Uwa’s story breaks me. We all have to admit that our parents have failed woefully in the raising of the male child. The Lagos state police command have reacted to sad evet in which one of its officer went berserk and opened fire on his colleagues leaving at least one officer dead.
According to the police, Inspector Monday Gabriel, the officer who opened fire on his colleagues in the early hours of today, May 31, showed signs of mental depression and has been sent to the Police hospital for proper medical evaluation.
In a statement released in the aftermath of the incident, Lagos Police PRO Bala Elkana, said a Sergeant, Felix Okago, was killed in the unfortunate incident while others officers who were at the scene, escaped unhurt.
”On May 31 2020 at about 4.30am, Area A Command received a distress call that one Inspector Monday Gabriel from No 21 Police Mobile Force Squadron Abuja, on Special duty in a Federal Government facility in Ikoyi Lagos, went berserk and started shooting sporadically.
One Sergeant Felix Okago who was on Special duty with the Inspector, died from the gunshot injuries while others escaped unhurt. In an attempt to escape, he took a patrol van and headed towards third mainland bridge, shooting as he was escaping.
He was intercepted by Policemen from Bariga Division along Akoka, disarmed and handcuffed. The rifle and vehicle were recovered. The corpse of the deceased Sergeant is deposited in the mortuary for autopsy while the Inspector is taken to Police Hospital for medical examination as he presented signs of mental depression. ”the statement read in part
In the latest update of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, 307 new cases have been reported as of Sunday evening, June 1st by the National Centre for Disease Control.
In a new update on their Twitter page, the NCDC reports that there’s new cases in Lagos, FCT, Ogun, Kaduna, Oyo, Bayelsa, Gombe, Kano, Delta, Imo, Rivers, Niger, Bauchi, Plateau and Kwara

A police officer has been arrested after he opened fire on his colleagues at Onikan, killing some of them today May 31.
According to reports, the police officer went wild with anger around 5am following a disagreement with other members of his team.
The officer then opened fire on his colleagues, hijacked their operational vehicle and drove straight to Akoka in Yaba where he attempted to force his way into a building.
The building had an iron door and he shot at the door to gain access. No fewer than 30 bullet holes were counted in an apartment, corridor, and ceiling of the premises.
It is believed that the officer might not be mentally stable as he was filmed screaming incoherently while firing shots.
Commenting on the matter, the Lagos State Police Public Relations officer, Bala Elkana, said the command was investigating to understand what truly happened.

Snger, Slimcase has apologized for his insensitive comment regarding #JusticeforTina, a movement started after a Nigerian Police officer shot dead a 16-year-old girl in Lagos.
In a recent post made by Slimcase, he prayed for God to let him “blow” while he is alive, unlike George Floyd who became popular after he was killed by a while Police officer in the US, leading to a #BlackLivesMatter in the country.

Governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki, has reacted to the news of the rape and murder of a 100-level student of the University of Benin UNIBEN, Uwaila Omozuwa, inside a Redeemed Christian Church of God parish in the state.
The governor, reacting via his official Twitter handle, stated that the police has been mandated to identify, arrest and prosecute anyone found culpable in her death.
“I have ordered the Nigeria Police Force (@PoliceNG ) to thoroughly investigate the circumstances that led to the death of Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, a 100-level student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
The @PoliceNG has been mandated to identify, arrest and prosecute anyone found culpable in her death. The Violence Against Persons (VAP) Law is in effect in our state.
Using this law, we would ensure to investigate what exactly transpired and deal decisively with the those found complicit in the dastardly act, whoever they might be.” he tweeted

Men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested a 19-year-old Olufowoke Oladunjiye Emmanuel, a National Diploma holder of Yaba College of Technology, Lagos for blackmailing veteran singer, Queen Salawa Abeni with her ”nude photos”.
The police launched an investigation into the matter when the singer came online on April 1 to raise an alarm after she had a chat with the blackmailer who told her that he has her nude photos in his possession and would release them if she fails to pay him some money. Read here.
Following a detailed investigation, the suspect, Emmanuel who resides at Brentfield Avenue, Peace Estate, Magboro, Ogun State, was arrested by the Decoy Team of Rapid Response Squad last week Thursday after three days of trailing him.
The suspect who is a 2017.2018 Electrical Engineering graduate from YABATECH, said he picked up a memory card containing the nude photos of the Waka Queen on the floor in YABATECH in November 2019. After downloading the photos, he decided to contact her after getting her number on the internet.
“On 1st of April, 2020, I chatted her up and also called her after sending a few of the photos to her online. My intention was to negotiate with her for few bucks and for me to destroy the photographs.
I thought everything was going on fine until the following day when I heard the news of the blackmail over the radio. I was with my mother. She was even cursing the blackmailer unknown to her that I was the brain behind it.
I immediately sneaked out, destroyed the memory card and threw my mobile phone and SIM card into a nearby wetland in Magboro. Since then, I never mentioned it to anyone and called Madam Salawa Abeni about it again”, he said
Commenting on the arrest, the Lagos state Commissioner for Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, stated that no individual would be allowed to commit a crime in Lagos from any state or escape to other states in Nigeria to evade arrest.
He advised guardians to monitor their wards, emphasizing that the internet is a fertile ground for opportunities but the State command would not allow criminals to use it as an avenue to exploit law-abiding Lagosians.
A Nigerian doctor, Bright Oris, has shared the heartwarming story of how police officers found a newborn baby girl dumped inside of a dustbin and rushed her to the hospital where he works.
According to him, the police officers attached to the Niger state police command, heard the cry of a baby in the dustbin, and traced her. They immediately rushed her to the hospital to receive medical attention.
Dr. Oris says the baby girl is doing fine.

Nature ensures the cycles of food, gases, etc for existences forever (both physical and spiritual). Covid-19 isn’t a natural disease but a bio weapon. I know this because nature has spoken to me already. Think of it, just as the body via its cells creates immunity and replenishes worn out cells/tissues without introducing diseases to the body rather prevent them or/and jettison them so nature does also, this is because we are a microcosm of the macrocosm (a smaller nature of the bigger nature or a smaller universe of the bigger universe).
2. Christianity et al has no remedy or remedies when it comes to healing us and our world, rather it/they destroy(s) us by instilling morbid fear in the hearts and minds of earth citizens, preaching a hellish fiery place and a cool cozy heaven. Hogwash! I mean it has come to practical use of the powers of the Church/churches, congregations, etc, but what do we observe today? Even those at the helm of religions affairs (Popes, Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, Priestesses, Elders, Pastors, Imams) have all ran off and closed down churches, especially the mega ones that accommodate huge congregation for fear of Covid-19. Where are the miracles so promised the world in catastrophic events like this? Where are the powers of healings so promised the sick and affected? I mean if a pastor can take in poison and be bitten by snakes and scorpions and nothing happens what then is the fear of Covid-19 for? Is their deity god (Jesus, Jehovah, Yashua, Jah, Yehoshua, El, etc) not the same yesterday, today and forever? Are these words not borrowed?
The General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has said lots of babies wiill be made as a result of the COVID-19 lockdown.
The clergyman said this in his sermon on Sunday morning while listing some of the good things that will come out from the COVID-19 lockdown. According to him, Pastors will be so busy early next year conducting baby naming ceremonies.

Nigerian artiste, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has told his fans that prefers to be called ‘OBO’, and not ODOGWU.
This comes after the singer shared a video of his fans chanting ‘Odogwu’ (Great Man) at him.
Earlier this year, Burna Boy released a song dubbed, ‘Odogwu’ and he said whenever he is in Igbo Land, that is what he is called and he typically responds by dancing.
In a follow-up post, Davido clearly stated that he doesn’t want to the title and he would rather stick to his nickname, ‘OBO’ (Omo Baba Olowo which means Son of a Rich Man).

A 58-year-old father and his 28-year-old son in Kenya were on Thursday, jailed for 20 and 15 years respectively after they were found guilty of gang-raping their female neighbour.
The Molo Resident Magistrate, Emmanuel Soita ruled that the Prosecution, led by John Limo, had proven beyond any reasonable doubt that John Chirchir and his son, Vincent Lang’at, on 27 June, 2018 gang-raped their 28-year-old neighbour at Telowa Village in Kuresoi North Constituency in Nakuru County.
Five witnesses, who testified, confirmed that Chirchir and Lang’at subdued their victim and sexually abused her in their house.
In another case, Magistrate Soita sentenced one Samuel Kiprono to 13 years in jail for defiling a 9-year-old girl in Keringet area, Molo Constituency in Nakuru County, Nation.co.ke reports.

On Saturday May 30, Nigeria recorded its highest COVID-19 positive cases yet as 553 new cases were recorded in 15 states according to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC.
Of the 553 new cases, 378 of them were recorded in Lagos alone, the highest so far in a single day since the pandemic started in February this year.
