A Nigerian Twitter user with the handle, @belikegeorge on the social networking platform, has aired his excitement after his father completed their house in the span of a decade.
According to the user, his father had been on the project since 2010 but he couldn’t complete building the house on time due to circumstances which he didn’t share.
His dad’s testimony came however, after 10 years, as he finally completed the house and filled with excitement and pride of his dad’s latest feat, George took to Twitter to share photos of the lovely house.
Sharing the photos, he wrote;
“My dad just completed his first house, it took him 10 years but he did it(he started building the house in 2010) I’m super proud of him.”
A single mother has taken her own life after taking to Facebook to cry out for help but no one came to her rescue.
The hardworking Nigerian woman reportedly committed in Port Harcourt after taking to Facebook to post about her problem.
The woman identified as Princess Folashade Eloho Bello, a single mother of one, took to her Facebook page on June 19 to open up about giving up hope but ended the post with a smiley that masked the pain in her heart.
Due to the smiley face emoji, friends say they didn’t understand that she was going through a lot.
Two days after sharing the post, she allegedly committed suicide on June 21. Her Facebook friends claim she consumed some harmful liquids. They also claim that she was depressed.
She leaves behind her young son, Cristal.
A counsellor who worked closely with her took to Facebook to announce her death and mourn her. He disclosed that she bought his self-help books in 2018 and he was shocked to hear that she has taken her life.

After a rigorous search, officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, found the dead body of the girl at Onilegogo canal, Surulere on Tuesday afternoon, June 23.
The body was handed over to her community members who immediately buried her.

Mercy Eke, winner of the 2019 edition of the BBNaija reality TV show has revealed how a fan made her lose millions of naira in a deal with a champagne company.
According to Mercy, she was approached by a champagne company that wanted her to sign a deal with them and also attend a party they wanted to organise and she obliged.
The company being impressed with the outcome of the meeting held with Mercy and her management team, paid her the agreed sum, even before signing the dotted lines.
This happened on a Wednesday and Mercy was supposed to start the activation of the deal on Thursday which was the second day, only for a fan to spoil the partly sealed deal.
Mercy told her fellow former housemates who were present for the BBNaija 2019 Reunion show that the fan in question put a call through to one of the staff members of the champagne company to ask if it was true that the company recently signed Mercy and if it was true that she would be attending the upcoming party organised by the company.

According to Mercy, that did not go well with her. “Immediately I saw that, I called Chief Priest and told him what was going on on the internet and we decided that if the company say they do not know me, me too do not know them.
I told the company that if I was going to go ahead with the deal, they should release an official statement saying that they know me and to also apologise.
“My management made me return the money because, they refuse to apologise and the damage has been done.”
According to her, she was unable to go ahead with the deal, though the company was a big and well recognised one.
She blamed the loss of money, damage to her integrity and image to the fan who went ahead to make public information that was not true and also not gotten from the right source.

A Ghanaian Facebook user, Bright Sylvanus took to his page to share the quite tragic story of a Nigerian lady who migrated to Ghana in search of a job but met predicament there.
According to Bright, the lady was gang raped by a group of guys who eventually got her pregnant and while she was pregnant, she was still gang raped by another set of people.

A Nigerian lady, Eniola, has taken to her Twitter page to give her reason why she won’t be dating a broke man again.
According to Eniola, she once dated a jobless guy who she was helping, but he ghosted her the moment he got a good job. She revealed that he lost the job 6 months after and tried to come back to her, but she ignored him.

Nigerian activist and former TV Presenter, Lolo Cynthia Ihesie has revealed that she recently discovered that she was circumcised and she was hurt by the discovery.
Cynthia said she was teaching her younger sisters about Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) when she found out that she had been circumcised when she was 3 months old.
She shared her story on Instagram ;
At 3 months old, my family cut out my clitoral head (FGM1) because they didn’t want me to grow up to be promiscuous.
This was never disclosed to me till I was an adult whilst I was educating my younger sisters about FGM and its implications.
Naturally, I am curious about my body and I teach about sex and pleasure- I noticed that I didnt have a clitoral head but never wanted to believe that it was due to FGM
I assumed I just didnt have a thick clitoral tissue even though direct stimulus to the clit hurts and I need to work around the clitoris to find my pleasure spot since the external tissue where most of the pleasure spot is located was cut.
I feel violated and incredibly hurt by this discovery but at the end – It has given me insight as to why I am where I am and why my message about violation against women is important to me.
I am an igbo girl and this is common in igbo land. My mother said it was done to every girl she knows including her- mothers did it to their daughters.. some still do.
I encourage you to speak to your mothers and ask if they cut you or go to a gynecologist to inquire.

New photos of Chris Ndukwe and Olamide Alli —the couple who were involved in the trending murder-suicide incident that happened at Victory Park estate in Lagos over the weekend— have emerged online.
On Monday, June 22, news made the rounds of how the groom-to-be, Chris stabbed his fiance, Olamide to death and then committed suicide by consuming a pesticide.
The couple were planning to tie the knot later in August of this year but have been in a troubled relationship for over seven years. They have two boys, a 7 year old and a 3 year old.
Trouble however started recently when Chris began to doubt the paternity of their second child. It’s reported that on Sunday June 21, he locked Olamide in his room where he duck taped her, cut her braids and stabbed her multiple times with different knives until she died, and then committed suicide by drinking a pesticide.
The Lagos state police command in a statement released, said investigations have commenced on the incident.

A Nigerian lady has taken to her Facebook to share a story of how a friend of hers, who mocked her for being childless lost 3 children.
She shared the story some four days ago on her Facebook timeline — according to Obianuju Perpetual Kanu, one Nneka who used to be her friend took her clothes without her permission and when she confronted her and asked her to return her clothes, she insulted her and made mockery of her childlessness.
Obianuju said Nneka did not only mock her but also asked her children to stone her out of their compound. An heartbroken Obianuju revealed that out of anger, she cursed her friend and told her that “unending tears” will visit her.
She said the incident occurred in 2006 and the lady called her in 2020 to ask for forgiveness.

The Premier League has confirmed a positive Coronavirus test in the latest phase of mass testing. A total of 1,829 tests were conducted in the ninth round of testing in the Premier League, on Wednesday and Sunday.
The player or club staff member who has tested positive will now self-isolate for a period of seven days, with the person likely to miss the next round of fixtures which will begin on Tuesday.
A statement read,
‘The Premier League can today confirm that between Wednesday, June 17 and Sunday, June 21, 1,829 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, one person has tested positive.
‘Players or club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate for a period of seven days.
‘The Premier League is providing this aggregated information for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency.
‘No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the League and results will be made public after each round of testing.’

A 17-year-old girl, identified simply as Ayisat, has been declared missing after she was allegedly swept away by a flood in Lagos.
The flood, resulting from the heavy downpour in Lagos on Monday, June 22, swept the teenager away in Surulere.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) released a statement saying the unfortunate incident occurred at the Alapafuja axis of the Surulere Low-Cost Housing Estate, Lagos.
Head of Public Affairs, LASEMA, Nosa Okunbor in the statement, said the agency had already commenced a search and rescue operation for the missing girl.
He explained that major and minor drains and drainage canals in and around the Alapafuja axis of Surulere are being searched for the missing teenager.
Okunobor said,
“Upon arrival at the scene of incident, it was discovered that the canal along Alapafuja close linking Bank Olemoh was submerged as a result of flooding and a teenage girl named Ayisat was swept away by the flood around 12:30p.m (Monday).
“The search and rescue operation by the agency which commenced immediately the distress alert was received, has led to the ongoing thorough search of all major and minor categories of drains and drainage canals in and around Alapafuja axis of the Surulere Low-Cost Housing Estate in Surulere Local Government Area, Lagos.
“Outcome of the present operation will determine the extent to which the radius of the Search and Rescue operation will be extended beyond the immediate locality of Surulere to other Local Governments/Local Council Development areas trailing the water/flood flow, as past experience has proven that strong floods have been known to transfer victims far from incident scenes.”
Mr Okunbor added that the body of the missing teenager has not been found even when the LASEMA Response Team searched through the adjoining canals. He said the operation will be suspended till Tuesday morning.
An abusive man has broken the wrist of a lady who tried to stop him from beating his wife.
According to the lady identified as Mogbonjubola Awofolu, the man, Tobi came to her house to beat up his wife, when she tried stopping him, he carried her dressing mirror and threw it at her, and his action resulted in a broken wrist.

A 5-year-old girl has died after she was raped by her older cousin in freetown, Sierra Leone.
The rapist and his mother were arrested he raped his two young cousins living with them, leading to the death of one of the girls.
5-year-old Kadijah M. Saccoh and her 8-year-old sister were living with their aunt and her son in her home in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Kadijah’s parents were living apart. The father, Saccoh, is living in the U.S. and had been trying to take Kadijah, a U.S. citizen, with him to the U.S. but couldn’t because a Judge prevented him from doing so as the mother was not in support.
Kadijah and her sister remained with their aunt, who is the elder sister of Kadijah’s mum.
Sadly, their cousin began raping Kadijah’s elder sister and Kadijah.
According to reports, when the aunt found out her son had raped Kadijah’s sister, she hid it from the children’s parents and treated the girl herself.

According to reports, the aunt informed Kadijah’s father’s family about the death of the girl after which she asked for permission to bury the child, but the father insisted that he wanted to know the cause of the death.
The father urged his family to take the corpse for a postmortem. The postmortem result showed that the girl was raped multiple times. The father then asked that his older daughter be taken for a test too and it showed that she had been raped too.
The aunt and her son have both been arrested and people are seeking justice for Kadijah with the hashtags #JusticeForKadijahSaccoh and #JusticeForKadijah.

A heavily pregnant woman has voiced out for help after she was trafficked to Lebanon and abandoned to her fate.
An eight-month pregnant Nigerian woman, Rasheedat Taiwo Saka told SaharaReporters on Monday, June 22, that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, she has had no access to food or medical care and was currently locked up in her traffickers’ office alongside other victims.
Recalling how she found herself in that situation, she said she left Nigeria after her husband died in November 2018 and things became difficult financially.
She said three agents in Nigeria, including a Mr John and a Mr Victor, approached her and presented her the opportunity of working in Lebanon.
“Before I left for Lebanon, they bought our passport and ticket and said two months of our salary will be theirs’ when we got there.
“I didn’t know I was pregnant when I left Nigeria. When I got to Lebanon, the agency and my employer took me to the hospital, they found out I was pregnant but still forced me to work.
“Despite my condition, I was forced to work for six months from house to house until the house where I worked last. I had started showing very well, the woman returned me to the agency.
“I have not been paid. I reached out to the agent, Mr John, and narrated my ordeal to him saying I wanted to come home because the agency in Lebanon claimed I owed them. He dismissed me, saying my trouble was too much and asked me to contact my family to settle the Lebanese traffickers even when he knew I have no family. He has also been disturbing me, asking me to pay him, claiming I still owed him after collecting my salary from the agency in Lebanon,” she said.
Saka said she is currently locked up in the trafficking agency called Damaj Services in Lebanon.
“I, alongside other women, some from Nigeria and others from Ghana, are currently locked up in an office building. The bed we are sleeping on is children’s size and I am eight months pregnant. Throughout yesterday I could not sleep because I am in severe pain.
“I am hungry too. In fact, so hungry that I had to beg one of the staff in the building to buy food for me yesterday to eat, he bought bread and gave me. Then we were given five pieces of potatoes to eat; we are more than six in number,” she lamented.
Adekola Damilola, an activist with Rescue Africans In Slavery (projectferry), a project working to draw attention to the plight of trafficked Nigerians in Lebanon and Oman, spoke to the publication about the plight of trafficked women.
Damilola said the biggest challenge they encounter is the unwillingness on the part of the Nigerian Government to rescue women and girls in danger abroad.
“There is unwillingness on the part of government. They can do more by sending a flight, like an amnesty and asking all women and girls who are trafficked and want to return to come back home from Lebanon, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
“Immigration officials are also part of the problem. They collect money from these agents who are traffickers and allow them.
“If staff from agencies like NAPTIP are positioned in airports, they’re trained to know who is being trafficked and can intervene even before the women leave Nigeria. They should also be positioned in embassies abroad because I have heard of many cases where embassy staff just take names and complaints and send the women back to their traffickers without any action.”
The police in Ogun State have arrested a couple for allegedly molesting and assaulting his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend.
According to the command’s spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the couple identified as Osas Onyeokweni and Tomisin Onyeokwenu were arrested following a complaint by the victim who reported that her former boyfriend, Osas, who is now married to her friend, Tomisin, called her on phone to meet him somewhere for an important discussion.
She further stated that on getting to the agreed place, she met the couple and they both lured her into an uncompleted apartment where Tomisin used scissors to tear her dress.
Then Osas held her down and his wife inserted an empty bottle of herbal drink into her private part. They also snapped her naked picture and threatened to upload it online if she dares report to anyone.
“On interrogation, the couple admitted committing the crime but pleaded that they regretted their action,” he said.

An employer took to his Twitter page to share a job vacancy advert as he’s in search of an employee but the content of his advert caught the attention of Twitter users and made him go viral on the platform.
Samuel Otigba, who’s a brand strategist and was nominated for Forbes 30 under 30 in 2018, tweeted,
“Looking for someone I can trust to manage my food factory in Kaduna. Good pay with health insurance. You can steal cause I know you will & I can’t control it, but keep the thieving within 5-10% of the total net profit & we are good.”
Some Twitter users were awed by his tweet as they said he was being realistic with his expectations. However, others accused him of implying that all Nigerians are potential thieves.
A South African lady on Twitter identified as Nothando has got herself trending on the micro-blogging platform after she unveiled the ”love of her life”.
Nothando’s post quickly went viral because of its relevance, controversy, and teaching.
