My Wife And I Cried – Nigerian Singer, Azadus Speaks Up About His COVID-19 Ordeal

Nigerian singer, Olalekan Fadeyi, popularly known as Azadus, speaks about the joy of being a COVID-19 survivor.

While some people still insist that the COVID-19 virus is a disease of the elite, ace singer, Olalekan Fadeyi, popularly known as Azadus, speaks to MOBOLA SADIQ about the joy of being a survivor.

How was the experience at the isolation centre?

In the isolation centre, they give us drugs in the morning and another set of drugs at night. The hospital took care of our breakfast, lunch and dinner. You’ll expect some negative reports about the COVID-19 treatments because you can’t imagine receiving good treatment in Nigeria but God has blessed us with the governor of Lagos State who is helping with the fight. It’s unbelievable that people think that I’m exaggerating about the good treatment I received. Some people don’t even believe that any good can come out of this country.

How did you know that you had contracted the dreaded virus?

I was initially treating malaria for about two weeks. Afterwards my doctor advised me to go for a test since the drugs he had placed me on were not making me better. I therefore called the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and went for the (COVID-19) test. The doctors told me that the results would be ready after 72 hours but I told them I couldn’t wait for that long. Physically, they saw me exhibiting all the (COVID-19) symptoms. So, I was admitted. I was coughing profusely, I coughed non-stop for like 10 minutes. I had a high temperature, body pains, diarrheal, and other symptoms associated with malaria. In fact, before I went for the test I could cough from 9pm to 6am non-stop. COVID-19 is very deadly and people with underlining health conditions are likely to pack up (die) easily.

Some people believe that the COVID-19 drugs you posted on your page are malaria drugs, is that true?

Those people saying that must be pharmacists or doctors or just ignorant people. Part of the drugs that they’ll give you at the isolation centre are malaria drugs and they’ll also give you some other drugs but some of those drugs, you can’t get them from any pharmacy. You can only get them from isolation centres. Those drugs are very strong.

How long were you at the isolation centre?

I was at the isolation centre for a week. That is the basic number of days you’ll spend at the isolation centre. However, if the doctors see that you’re recuperating fast, they can now release you to go home after one week. But they would give you drugs. You would then continue your medications at home. This is not because they can’t continue to take care of you but because of the number of people in critical condition that are in need of the bed spaces.

How did you self-isolate since you went home after one week?

My children were not at home with me, they were with their grandmother. My wife also did a test and she was negative.

What were your fears when you tested positive to COVID-19?

I was not scared for a second, but I was emotional at some point. I was emotional because my wife was scared and started crying because of my persistent cough. I couldn’t bear it so I started crying when I saw her in that state. That was the only time that I got emotional. I knew God was going to get me out of it. She also knew that, but she’s human after all.

Have you been certified free of COVID-19 now?

It’s now one week that I was discharged from the hospital. When you have COVID-19, you can’t hold your breath for five seconds, you’ll start coughing. You won’t have energy at all and won’t have an appetite. So, when the doctors assessed me and saw that I was not exhibiting any of the symptoms, they told me to come back for another test but because of fear of stepping out of my house that I could be infected again, I have not gone back to do another test. The doctor asked me a lot of questions on telephone to ascertain if I was still at risk or a risk to anybody but he was satisfied with my answers. I’m certain that I’m now healed. Next week, I’ll have summoned the courage to go out.

Some people have said that the cost of doing a C0VID-19 test is expensive?

That’s the problem with rumours. The Lagos State Government didn’t collect a dime from me. From the test, result, medications, meals which included water, were free of charge. Note that I was not drinking sachet water; it was bottled water that was given to us. Some people think I was paid by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to say this. But it’s not true. You don’t want to put yourself in a situation where you can personally find out if my story is true or not. But if people still disbelieve it, they can pay a visit to the isolation centres.

What’s the lesson you learnt after this scary ordeal?

When I was at the centre, I noticed that the nurses and doctors who attended to me were always in a hurry to leave once they asked me questions and got answers. But when I stopped one nurse and asked her why she was in a hurry, she said she was not comfortable in her protective suit because the suit was very hot. These are people that are treating COVID-19 but not been treated well. Now, if you say you need to quickly get back to work and make money, you may put yourself at a risk. Until there’s an antidote, we need to still stay and keep safe.

‘Football without fans won’t be the same thing’ – Jordan Ayew

Crystal Palace striker Andre Ayew believes ‘football won’t be the same’ without fans following the return of the English Premier League.

All games in England will be without fans as authorities take precautionary measures to curb the spread of COVID-19. The English Premier League resumed on Wednesday after a three month break due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

Ayew and his Crystal Palace teammates travel to the Vitality Park to play Bournemouth on Saturday.

“Football is my life; I grew up in football. It is the only thing I literally know how to do and the only thing that keeps me busy,” he told PalaceTV.

“Not having football for two months, I was really sad, not depressed, but not too far from it. Things are moving slowly, there is football on TV, it is a good thing for me. I am really, really excited for the first game back of the season.

“Now we are resuming the season, but it’s like a new season basically because we’ve had maybe two, three weeks to train together, things change, I cannot explain it, but without fans it is not the same thing, we all know how important the fans are.”

The 28-year old has scored eight goals in the English Premier League for Crystal Palace this season.

“You can’t believe in Jesus and be afraid of touching Covid-19 patients” – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (WATCH)

Popular Nigerian clergyman, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome in a new preaching currently making the rounds on the internet, has slammed fellow pastors for being afraid to lay their hands on Covid-19 patients.

In the audiovisual clip that’s now trending on social media, the pastor is heard saying that it’s crazy for a man of God to wear gloves before touching people who have the dreaded virus.

He made biblical reference to how Jesus Christ touched the lepers and healed them. He went on to say he’s disappointed at some church leaders who have advised government to seal churches and “persecute” defaulters.

Speaking further, he also frowned at how church leaders recommended that Holy Communion be suspended in churches.

“If you are afraid of a virus you have no gospel.”

“We have to pray for these ministers who are afraid of this virus.”

Oyakhilome said Covid-19 guidelines are means of persecuting Christians who have decided to follow Jesus Christ with all their heart.

Chris Oyakhilome is the founder and president of Love World Incorporated also known as Christ Embassy, based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Don’t Stress Yourself Finding A Man That Won’t Cheat On You — Man Advises

A man, Bright U. Nkwocha on Facebook has urged women to stop stressing themselves find a man that won’t cheat in marriage for such will lead to a headache.

According to him, “Most men have not changed and won’t change. I don’t think that they want to change at all!”

Read what he wrote:

“MARRIED MEN AND THEIR MISTRESSES!”
Dear Single Lady,
As you choose the right man to marry and as you prepare for marriage, don’t worry so much about a man that won’t cheat on you.
Don’t give yourself unnecessary headache looking for a man that will always be faithful to you.
You won’t find any!
Are all men cheats?
Are all married men unfaithful?
I don’t know.
One thing I know is that many married men are still enjoying the comforting bosoms of women other than their wives.
You and I know this.

I also know that you think men are thrash, wicked and heartless scum.
Whatever you think about men, you will still marry them. ?
As we are busy having the morality conversation about cheating being wrong, cheating is still going on.
One thing is clear.
Many men cheat.
Another thing is clearer. Most men have not changed and won’t change.
I don’t think that they want to change at all!
If all the good Christian preaching in the churches scattered over every street in Africa hasn’t stopped men from cheating, nothing will.

One thing you should know is that cheating is good business for many women today, married or single.
Well, that is talk for another day.
What can you do?
Simple.

Adjust your expectations.
You do this by managing your happiness.
Sometimes, a problem cannot be solved. It can only be managed.
There are three ways to handle the matter of cheating really.
One, you pour a cheating man hot oil or stab him to death.
Two, you live a life of constant resentment over every man as you cry and talk about how the world is evil.
Three, you manage your happiness.
Number three is better.

Numbers one and two help no one.
When you understand that you cannot change men and men won’t change, you are freed up to focus on your happiness, whether he cheats or not.
As you prepare for marriage, don’t look for a man that won’t cheat on you.
That’s not practical.
Look for a man that will take care of you instead.
Then choose to be happy, whether he cheats or not.

I wrote clearly about this with a plan in my hot best seller book, 17 COSTLY MISTAKES WOMEN MAKE ABOUT MEN IN RELATIONSHIPS.
Get this book!

Don’t cancel the possibility of choosing a man for marriage because he cheated or will cheat on you.
There is no guarantee that you will find a man that won’t cheat on you.
If you need more guidance on this, quickly call or chat me up privately now”.

The IG’s letter was in response to a petition written to the IG by Mr. Tommy Ojoge-Daniel, a lawyer to Miss Seyitan Babatayo, who accused D’Banj of raping her in 2018.

The letter written by the IG is titled, ‘Re: Petition Against (1) Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo (Aka D’Banj) for Rape Indecent Sexual Assault, Attempted Assault on Miss Seyitan Temidayo

The letter read in part, “I forward herewith copy of letter dated June 5, 2020 received from Ojoge, Omileye and Partners on the above underlined subject. I am to respectfully convey the directive of the Inspector-General of Police that you treat.

“Accept the assurances of my esteemed regards please.”

Recall on the 3rd of June, 2020, Seyitan shared details of being raped by D’banj on Twitter.

A few days later, Seyitan followed this with a letter from her lawyers to the Dbanj. In the letter, Seyitan demanded an apology from D’banj.

The singer denied the allegation a week later, tagged it ”lies from the pit of hell” and said he’d be seeking justice by taking legal steps.

On Tuesday, however, some policemen allegedly acting on the instruction of the singer detained Seyitan for over 24 hours and intimidated her, making her delete all chats, social media posts and other vital information from her phone.

The incident elicited a wide range of criticism on social media with D’Banj trending on social media for the last two days
