Popular Nigerian Singer, Tiwatope Savage, known professionally as Tiwa Savage has bemoaned the poor supply of electricity in the country.

The singer took to her twitter page today, 31st May to air her thoughts on the sad situation.

Tiwa Savage leaves Mavin Records

Her tweet reads ;

2020, this is 2020 Nigeria and WE STILL DONT HAVE CONSTANT ELECTRICITY. Jesus Christ …

Her tweet is coming, days after minister of information, Lai Mohammed, declared that Nigerians should expect an increase in ”MW” by the year 2023.

The minister said a firm will be growing the present 3,400 megawatts to 7,000MW by the end of next year. Lai Mohammed added that they will then grow the megawatts to 1,000 megawatts by the end of 2023 (phase 2) and 25,000 megawatts in the third phase. (Read here ICYMI)

Nigerian celebrities should ignore #JusticeforTina because it’s a local issue. George Floyd is a global issue — Rapper Slimcase

Street singer, Slimcase is currently under fire over his comment on Instagram.

It all started when he tweeted a picture of George Floyd writing: “FAME AFTER DEATH… any positive blow wey I gats blow God Let me blow am now that I am alive not after I am dead ? ? George A sacrifice for d change in black history #blacklivesmatters”

An Instagram user then responded, demanding to know why celebrities usually air their opinions on issues abroad, and turn a blind eye to issue that happens in their country.

The follower wrote; “Na America matter una always dey carry for head, why you no post that 16 years old girl police shoot for Lagos. Abi them never settle the girl matter finish?”

Slimcase then replied; “We talking about a global pandemic here. Leave the Lagos girl for Channels to talk about am.”

Just for Tina became a trending topic after a trigger-happer police officer aimed at a bus diver who he was trying to arrest for violating curfew and in the process mistakenly shot the unarmed teenager who happened to be nearby.

See Details here.

Some comments on Social Media;

@drpenking: A pandemic is a DISEASE occurring over a wide geographic area and affecting an exceptionally high proportion of the population. Apart from being insensitive, Slimcase thinks that George ‘s death is a pandemic Clown faceClown faceClown face. It is a National embarrassment to be both INSENSITIVE and DUMB.

@bratty_nono: The lagos culture is why agbero’s like Slimcase, Naira Marley and Zlatan have a voice today… “This is Lagos,shine your eye” a phrase that justifies irrational behaviour all in the name of being street wise..hence thuggery and hooliganism have been enshrined and even glorified.

@EdmundOris: The more I read that Slimcase comment, the more disgusted I get. How foolish can one be? Nobody is saying don’t demand justice for George. But “leave the Lagos girl for channels” Misplaced priorities. Same “Lagos girl” that’ll play your music, come for your concert, Lagos girl.

@Baldilocks__: I can’t get over the fact that Slimcase literally said, “leave the Lagos girl for channels to talk about”. That Lagos girl was Tina who was gunned down by the police in Nigeria. It’s one thing to be more interested in the injustice in faraway US. It’s another thing to be daft.

COVID-19: If God truly exists, he owes me an apology – Humanist Mmasinachi

A self-proclaimed Queen of Nature and Humanist, Mmmsinachi Peculiar has taken to her social media page to share her thoughts on the pandemic currently rocking the world.

In her post, she questioned the existence of God and said if he truly exists, he owes her an apology because he allowed the pandemic to poison nature.

Her post on Instagram reads ;

IF THERE’S A GOD, HE OWES ME AN APOLOGY!

World happenings are enough to tell us that there’s no sky god no where, #you Are Your Own God! People are confused and insane yet with brains. The once cherished and “get it all” places of miracles and healings cum churches and mosques are shut down to a deadly virus with code name Covid-19 (Corona Virus). What does all these tell us? What have they finally revealed?

1. Nature doesn’t poison itself and its own, never! Nature can never ever advance anything so dreadful and capable of wiping it out of existence. Nature ensures the cycles of food, gases, etc for existences forever (both physical and spiritual). Covid-19 isn’t a natural disease but a bio weapon. I know this because nature has spoken to me already. Think of it, just as the body via its cells creates immunity and replenishes worn out cells/tissues without introducing diseases to the body rather prevent them or/and jettison them so nature does also, this is because we are a microcosm of the macrocosm (a smaller nature of the bigger nature or a smaller universe of the bigger universe).

2. Christianity et al has no remedy or remedies when it comes to healing us and our world, rather it/they destroy(s) us by instilling morbid fear in the hearts and minds of earth citizens, preaching a hellish fiery place and a cool cozy heaven. Hogwash! I mean it has come to practical use of the powers of the Church/churches, congregations, etc, but what do we observe today? Even those at the helm of religions affairs (Popes, Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, Priestesses, Elders, Pastors, Imams) have all ran off and closed down churches, especially the mega ones that accommodate huge congregation for fear of Covid-19. Where are the miracles so promised the world in catastrophic events like this? Where are the powers of healings so promised the sick and affected? I mean if a pastor can take in poison and be bitten by snakes and scorpions and nothing happens what then is the fear of Covid-19 for? Is their deity god (Jesus, Jehovah, Yashua, Jah, Yehoshua, El, etc) not the same yesterday, today and forever? Are these words not borrowed?

Anita Joseph reacts after trolls said her marriage will crash soon

Popular Nollywood actress, Anita Joseph has reacted after a troll predicted the end of her 4 months marriage.

The troll had stated that she will one day insult her husband herself.

“No worry… before one year now na u go still use your mouth insult your husband. Na then you go realize set relationship no be the same with marriage”, the troll wrote.

Anita Joseph in her reaction to the troll’s ill-fated prediction, asserted it’s up to God with personal efforts to keep things working.

“It’s up to God and man for marriages to end. It takes more personal effort, and that’s what makes marriage to last. My parents were married until death and I intend to leave that example for my kids, with God as my helper.

Jude Okoye does not think P-Square will ever return (VIDEO)

Record label executive, Jude Okoye killed any hopes anyone might have had of popular defunct group, P-Square getting back together ever again.

The group, during their time together, made serious waves across the continent and even globally as they consistently sold out shows and tours.

Some of the awards the duo received as a group were multiple Headies, Nigeria Music Awards, Channel O Music Video Awards, MTV Africa Music Awards, KORA Awards, BET Awards, MOBO Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards amongst others.

The PSquare Brothers!

The group has over time faced a lot of breakups in their musical career together but the last breakup they had —a rather messy one— seems to put an end to anything P-Square and their elder brother, in a new video confirms this.

Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko are expecting a baby!

In new reports currently circulating online, forever young Nollywood star, Regina Daniels and her billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko are expecting their first child together.

This was made known not long ago when her husband took to his Instagram to share the good news. The Billionaire shared photos of the pregnant star with an ample baby bump and gave it the caption,

“It is now official. I am excited to announce that my baby is having a baby ❤️ @regina.daniels”

It should be recalled that around mid-2019, Regina Daniels was reported to be pregnant with the billionaire’s child and there were even claims that she was four months gone at the time.

However, not long after, with the actress going MIA on social media, reports made wave that she’d lost her baby at the time — this was accompanied with strong speculations that she either aborted her baby or had a miscarriage.

A report at the time that insiders claimed gave her issues with her husband. Regina then returned back to the social media scene but photos she shared on there were really questionable as she looked rather slimmer than what she looked like before.

This raised eyebrows and even further fueled the aforementioned speculations of she losing her baby and had complications thereafter.

Well, the Nwoko’s are soon to be expecting a child and an elated Ned just couldn’t wait to share the news with the world. We most definitely hope for the best for the actress and wish her safe delivery when the time comes.

Expect 11,000 MW of electricity by 2023 – Lai Mohammed

Federal Government increases

Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture has told Nigerians to expect 11,000 megawatts of electricity by 2023 following the agreement the Nigerian government reached with German firm Siemens.

FG warns residents

He said the German firm will be growing the present 3,400 megawatts to 7,000MW by the end of next year. Lai Mohammed added that they will then grow the megawatts to 1,000 megawatts by the end of 2023 (phase 2) and 25,000 megawatts in the third phase.

The minister said;

“Following an agreement with German company Siemens in July 2019 to boost power supply in Nigeria, the stage is set for the perennial power problem to become a thing of the past.

“Under the three-phase agreement, Nigerians will enjoy 7,000 megawatts of reliable power supply by the end of 2021 (phase 1), 11,000 megawatts by the end of 2023 (phase 2) and 25,000 megawatts in the third phase.

“To put things in perspective, Nigeria’s current power generation capacity is more than 13,000 megawatts, but only an average of 3,400 megawatts reliably reach consumers. In essence, the current amount of power that reaches consumers will more than double by the end of next year.

“In addition, this will create thousands of jobs and will leapfrog the country into the next level of industrial and social development.”
