A Nigerian Couple have gone viral on social media after they had a very unique ceremony to officially tie the nuptial knot.
The couple apart from wearing casual outfits for their big day, also had no fanfare as they exchanged their nuptial vows, got married at ECWA Church Kaltungo DCC, Gombe State.

Raw food and relief items were provided to the semi-urban community’s households as part of their relief efforts, and at the forefront of these efforts are a deep concern and care for their communities.
Commenting on the brand’s CSR campaign, Oke Umurhohwo, itel’s Marketing Communications Manager said:
“I am very proud to be a part of a brand who is giving back to the communities where we live and work. We know that this period is a tough one for many families because of the lockdown, and as such, we are happy that our CSR activities are able to give families a measure of relief. It’s also worth noting that our CSR initiative themed: Love Always On will continue to impact lives, even after this pandemic has been thoroughly defeated.”
The joy on the faces of members of the community was a common theme throughout the hours long outreach. More than 20 volunteers gave up hours of their time to enrich the lives of Nigerians and this is something worth applauding.

Nollywood actor Zubby Michael, has lambasted those who have insinuated he got spiritual powers from controversial Nigerian clergyman, Odumeje.
In recent times, certain videos have circulated social media, showing the popular actor dancing and jumping alongside Odumeje as the latter went on with his deliverance and prophesies.
This had elicited rumors that the actor was one of the cleric’s church members.
However, Zubby has now taken to his social media page to clarify and lash out at those he said were spreading false claims that he got spiritual powers for his Nollywood success from Odumeje.
According to him, Odumeje had once graced his housewarming party by doling out over N1 million in cash while he reciprocated the gesture by giving N500,000 during the pastor’s birthday party.
“The lion, Odumeje. Where is he leading you all? You guys can enjoy all the drama but I hate it when you say, ‘that’s where Zubby got powers from, he made Zubby successful’,” Zubby explained.
“Are you sick? The thunder that will fire those making such claims will come from Adamawa! I’m not denying he’s my friend way back from Onitsha. But does that mean I go there to pray?
“Odumeje is my guy, not my pastor. Don’t be stupid. I don’t go to church. I’m more of a spiritual person than a religious. So I hate it when you tag me in your unnecessary drama.
“Especially Tunde Ednut. Are you stupid? Why are you promoting unnecessary drama? Don’t you see what others promote? You’re a fool. I’m saying this because of my fans.

Controversial Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu has once again shown his allegiance to BBNaija reality star, Tacha.
In a recent post on his Instagram, Uche Maduagwu said that Tacha is the only Ex-BBNaija housemate who is not a local champion. He says Tacha is born to shine with her natural body.
Maduagwu alleges that the gods are angry with the BBNaija organizers for the unnecessary disqualification of Tacha.
His comment comes days after a vlogger listed his least favourite housemates from the show and called Mercy a local champion.

An American citizen who was invited to Nigeria by her young Nigerian lover, has died of suspected Covid19 complications in Delta State, SaharaReporters reports.
The lady who arrived the country on March 3, died yesterday, Sunday May 10, after manifesting symptoms of the virus and was rushed to a private hospital at Osubi, Orerokpe under Okpe Local Government Area of the state.
According to a security official attached to a police station in the area, the young man and the white lady had been lodged at a hotel in Osubi town since she came into the Nigeria.
“The young man and the American white lady lodged in a hotel in Osubi where they spent some weeks. The white lady fell sick and she began to manifest some symptoms of COVID-19, especially severe coughing. At this stage, her lover rushed her to a private clinic in Osubi but she gave up the ghost this morning.
Immediately she died at the hospital, her Nigerian lover carried her corpse in a Venza car to the Orerokpe Police Division and he was arrested by the police. While still at the station, a doctor was brought and took samples from the corpse for test.” the security guard said.

Intensifying his efforts to help the government and Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) fight world dreaded COVID-19, Bishop Sam Zuga is set to officially launch his first Corona Virus Solution App, Samzuga Treat.
The creation of the App which is set to be unveiled on Saturday, May 16 would be regarded as a right timing project as the number of cases in Nigeria keeps increasing frightening the masses.
According to philanthropic cleric popularly known as Jehovah’s Field Marshall, Samzuga Treat was born out of the so many uncertainties that surrounds COVID-19 in Nigeria.

Continuing, the Benue State born Bishop who last week launched the first Mobile communication App in Africa, “SAMZUGA CHAT” maintained that Samzuga Treat is not to fight anybody but to assist the government in combating COVID-19.
“It is from Sam Zuga Foundation known for delivering all types of free services to the people of Nigeria. The Samzuga Treat App is free in order to help government fight Coronavirus.
For now, it is not on Apple Store and Play Store, but from May 16, we would have it on our website and our blogs. Whoever wants, can go and pick the link from the sites, then install on your phone. In 6 weeks time, we are bringing another App that is also health related,” he stated.
Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike has announced a two-day temporary lifting of the total lockdown on Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt Local Government Areas from Tuesday May 12 2020 to Wednesday May 13, 2020.
The governor made the announcement via a statewide broadcast on Sunday night.
His announcement reads ;
“Consequently, we have given due consideration to the propositions on the way forward by well-meaning citizens of the State, and after a cautious review of the situation, decided to implement a partial relaxation of the lockdown measures, to enable residents to have some fresh air and replenish their foodstuffs and medicines.
To this end, I hereby announce the temporary lifting of the total lockdown on Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt Local Governments Areas for two days only, with effect from Tuesday 12th May 2020.
All shops, supermarkets, and malls can open to the public for Tuesday and Wednesday, 12 and 13 May 2020. Similarly, all hospitals and banks can also open and provide full services to the public.
While oil and gas companies are required to submit the list of their staff on essential duties to Government, note that there is no ban on the lifting of petroleum products from depots and other receptacles. The total lockdown on Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt Local Government Areas will be reinstated on Thursday 14th May 2020 and remain until further notice.”
“Compulsory wearing of face mask or scarfs in vehicles and public places; Closure of all land, sea and air borders and entry routes into the State; and Closure of all open markets, including slaughters, hotels, guest houses, cinemas, bars and restaurants; and Ban on gathering, including public burials, weddings, and religious gathering of more than 50 persons. A Night club and a hotel in Lagos State have been shut down for violating new guidelines issued by the government to operators of hotels, clubs, and other entertainment outfits in the State.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Solomon Bonu while speaking on the closure of Maggi Hotel, and Tambari Theatre Art (Night Club) both in Seme axis of Badagry, said that the facilities were shut down for violating and contravening the order of the State government.
“Apart from the fact that these facilities open for normal operations in defiance to the government’s directive, it was also discovered that there is a high level of immorality going on in these places. The Night Club has become home for strippers, drug barons and all sorts of mischief”, he said.
He added ;
“We’ll bring the full weight of the law on these erring operators and ensure that they show total compliance level before they can regain access to these facilities. This, the government believes, will send a signal to others who are still operating illegally in different parts of the State”.
A United States citizen said to have been invited to Nigeria by a young man she met on the Internet, has died of suspected Coronavirus complications in Delta State, SaharaReporters has learnt.
Our correspondent reliably gathered that the American, whose identity could not be ascertained at the time of this report, was said to have died on Sunday morning after she manifested some symptoms of the virus and was rushed to a private hospital at Osubi, Orerokpe under Okpe Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking with our correspondent, a security official attached to a police station in the local government, disclosed that the young man and the white lady had been lodged at a hotel in Osubi town since her arrival in Nigeria on March 3, 2020.

The white lady fell sick and she began to manifest some symptoms of COVID-19, especially severe coughing. The situation, our correspondent reliably gathered, had created tension in the council area.
When contacted over the issue, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya, confirmed the incident, explaining that the white lady’s corpse was brought to Orerokpe Police Station by her lover, who revealed to the police that the deceased had severe cough for about a week until she died on Sunday morning.
According to Onowakpoyeya, the blood sample of the woman, that of her lover and others, who may have had contact with her, have been taken for test.

A Catholic priest, identified as Father Abel Mwelwa, has been suspended in Lusaka, Zambia, after his married lover allegedly died during a marathon sex in his house, LukasaTimes reports.
According to memo from Alick Banda, the Archbishop of Lusaka addressed to the clergy, religious and Lay faithful, Father Mwelwa has been suspended with immediate effect.
“I hereby wish to inform you that I have with immediate effect suspended the Very Rev. Ringford Abel Mwelwa from the priesthood indefinitely. With this suspension he ceases to be Parish Priest for Kaunda Square Parish as well as Judicial Vicar of the Archbishop of Lusaka,” read the two-paragraphed memo dated 30th April 2020.
The late lover, who was a member of the Catholic Women’s League from St Maurice Catholic Church, had lied to her husband that she was going to a funeral but ended up with the priest.
Investigations are still ongoing at the time of writing this report.
Dethroned Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, has welcomed a baby girl from his 4th wife, Saadatu Barkindo Mustapha.
Saadatu is said to be an indigene of Adamawa state and got married to the former emir on September 15, 2015.
One of the Emir’s sons, Ashraf took to social media to report the news of the baby’s birth and also disclosed that that the baby is named after the 1st wife.
He wrote,
Whenever people asked me about my mothers, I’d say I have 3 (now 4) because all of my father’s wives are my mothers. In that spirit I want to share something that warmed my heart with you. My first mum, Yaya (Giwa) has basically taken care of the 4th especially through this trying period.
My second mum, (Goggo) Mamie, seeing this pleaded with my father to name the new baby after her (Yaya). And masha Allah the new baby is named Halimatu Saadiyya (Rafeeqah). This is the spirit of family and peace that makes me happy.
May that peace continue to reign. Here she is with her elder siblings that In Shaa Allah won’t bully her ?, MashaAllah. Please say allahumma barik, or MashaAllah Tabarakallah for my little sister.?

The police in Lagos state have arrested four persons for allegedly killing a househelp in the Bariga area of the state.
A statement released by Bala Elkana, spokesperson of the state police command, says men of the Bariga Police station received a tipoff on May 9 that one Shade Moke, 41, conspired with three others on February 29 and allegedly killed her 16-year-old househelp, Halimat Sodiq, over an allegation of stealing.
The victim is said to be a house help to Shade Moke. She was accused of stealing N2000 from her madam which she denied. The madam invited the remaining three suspects who tortured the girl to death. They buried her secretly at Atan cemetery Lagos, so as to conceal the murder. The four suspects were arrested but they denied the allegations.
They however, admitted slapping the girl for denying that she stole the money. They claimed that the girl went into convulsion after drinking water and that they took her to three different hospitals before she eventually died. That the girl was buried by her parents not the suspects. The parents were also contacted for their statement” Bala’s statement read.
The police spokesperson said the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Hakeem Odumosu psc, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
The suspects will soon be charged to Court.
Yet another Turkish lady has shared her experience with a 42-year-old Nigerian man who hails from Ondo state.
In an Instagram live session akin to the one a Turkish lady had not too long ago with comedian, Michael Blackson about how a Yoruba demon absconded, leaving her with their child, this lady who was also on an Instagram live session with the comedian, stated that a Yoruba man left her in similar situation.
According to her, the Yoruba man owns a business in Turkey and she started working with him when they started dating. However, the romantic relationship ended after she got pregnant for him.
Speaking further, the lady stated that the Yoruba man traveled to Germany and married his first baby mama the same month he got her pregnant.
The Turkish lady also disclosed that she named her baby after an Igbo man who helped her out after the Yoruba man jilted her.

An outspoken Nigerian pastor, Adewale Giwa, has told the President Buhari-led government to open churches in Nigeria to enable pastors heal all covid-19 patients in the country.
In a statement to DAILY POST on Sunday, Giwa said the government should do this to show they are not hiding anything from the people.
He said, “There is a spirit that came with COVID-19 that has blocked the eyes of majority of Nigerians.
“The religious leaders must pay serious attention to this spirit of deception.

Nollywood actress prominent in the Yoruba movies scene, Wumi Toriola took to her page earlier today to share a video of the moment she was going through the pains of childbirth while in the labour room.
The talented actress welcomed her first child —a bouncing baby boy— six months ago in the US.
In the spirit of mothers’ day today, the 31-year-old took to Instagram to celebrate herself and all mothers Instagram by sharing the video.
Toriola is seen crying profusely while singing praise songs as she was experiencing labour pains in the theater. In her caption, the actress prays that all mothers should experience the fruit of their labour and their children be vessels unto honour.

One Buhari Abiola who’s popularly known as Eyinju has been apprehended by the Police in Ogun state for raping a 21-year-old lady who sells akara.
A statement which was released by the state’s police command spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, stated that the arrest of the suspect came after a report from the victim who made a complaint at the Adigbe divisional headquarters that while she was selling fried potatoes and beancake at church street area of Ojere, the suspect came to buy the fried potatoes and asked her to come and collect money in his house which isn’t far from her shop.
The victim disclosed that on getting to his house, the suspect forcefully dragged her into his room where he had carnal knowledge of her against her consent, Vanguard reports.
The statement reads,
Upon the report, the DPO Adigbe division, CSP Austin Okpadile, detailed his men to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested.
On interrogation, the suspect who denied initially, later confessed that he actually raped the girl. He told the police that he has been making advances on the victim for quite some time but she constantly turned him down. He said when he saw her selling fried potatoes that very day, he decided to use that as a bait to get her in bed
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police CP Kenneth Ebrimson who expressed worry about the rate at which young girls are being sexually abused, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.

A pregnant nurse in New York who contracted COVID-19, delivered her baby girl prematurely and developed a string of medical complications.
The wife and mother of two young children, Sylvia LeRoy after testing positive for the virus, suffered a cardiac arrest at the Mt. Sinai hospital on April 12.
Jessica Jacobs organized a GoFundMe for Sylvia Leroy, a nurse at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, New York as her insurance covers only 60 days healthcare. The state will also not pay for her care except she proves which patient she was exposed to.
“After successfully coming off a ventilator 7 days prior. Her premature daughter was delivered at 30 weeks and is in the NICU. The arrest lasted 4 minutes and has left her with anoxic brain injury due to lack of oxygen and presently she’s awake but minimally conscious, not able to respond to sounds, touch or commands,” Jacobs added.
Shirley Licin, Sylvia’s sister, told CNN that she was six months pregnant back in March when she started feeling symptoms. The baby girl, Ester, was born at 30 weeks.
While Sylvia remains in recovery, both Jacobs and Licin have shared that her union insurance only covers “30 days of acute rehab.”
“Sylvia will need significant long-term acute cognitive and physical therapy to help give her a fighting chance for her baby Esther and her 3-year-old toddler Jay,” Jacobs wrote.
Sylvia’s family has been fighting early on to get her the best care possible, from transferring her to Mt. Sinai hospital and $600K has been raised by more than 10,000 people who pitched in to help the nurse fighting for her life.
Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has carried out the threat he gave of demolishing Prodest Hotel at Alode in Eleme Local Government Area of the state.
The governor had marked the hotel and one other, Etemeteh Hotel, Onne for demolition for allegedly flouting his government’s directive on the closure of hotels in the state.
A lot of residents of the state however, felt it was only a threat to make other hoteliers put themselves in order, but were certainly taken aback when a demolition truck arrived at the location of Prodest Hotel at about 11:30am Sunday morning.
As seen in photos that are currently trending on social media, the demolition men were accompanied by the Governor himself and other officials of the Rivers State task force, and the building was eventually brought down.
The Rivers State Governor had declared a total lockdown in two major cities in the state —Obio-Akpor and Port Harcourt City Local Government Areas— in his effort to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Rivers state. Interstate borders, markets, pubs, restaurants and hotels were also closed by the governor.
The demolition of the hotel has caused a stir on social media too as some people feel that the governor’s action was too extreme, stating that he could have fined the hotel. Some others are not necessarily bothered with the governor’s action.

Wike was showing necessary action and ensuring security agencies do their job well. He was conmended for that by many & rightly so. But going on to demolish an hotel is definitely way out of order. That sort of action is really condemnable. A fine should have been appropriate.
